To those new producers and mixing engineers watching: make sure you DO NOT have your reference monitors directly on the table like this, have them on risers or better yet standalone mount/stands. This will help get a more accurate representation of your mix. If you can, also do not place them right in front of a wall, try to give some space between the back of the woofer and any surface.
The place to put headphones is brilliant. Crazy we have the same set up, I use rockerville 8 inch wood monitor stands too. Really made a difference in my studio.

One additional thing I do when I'm on my own and have to sing, is to use an Android tablet and connect to the main computer with Teamviewer. This gives me fullscreen view of the DAW in the studio hence I can control all the functions of the main computer from the "booth". Works perfectly.

Small tip: keep your speakers on your ear level, it looks nice, its easer to make better music that way. you should put your speakers higher, on an ear level. Producers do this for better quality/listening experience/better overal mix.
@@JoshandKatie If you wanna know why it's because the Tweeters (the part of the speaker that produces the high frequencies) are high on the speaker, always above the woofers and cones. High frequencies are easier to hear higher up. Ear level on the tweeters is the best :)

Sweet. The 2i2 was my first interface. I've since upgraded to Antelope Audio, and I'd recommend anyone to do that if they can afford to, because the sound quality is not comparable IMO.

Hey. Great build. I feel like the mic situation is less than ideal, a couple of ideas for it are: I have a Shure dynamic mic for scratch vocals because it's something I know I can have in my desk drawer without any problem. Or you could also clamp the condenser mic to the one of the shelves and that way save a lot of space! I really like the hooks for the headphones tho, I'm implementing it for my own home studio.

Thank you so much , I have been going in circles trying to find out how to do this and what everything does on my little mixer. Your tutorial is the only one that has made any sense to me. Its as if everyone speaks a different language, they all seem to take it for granted that you already know what these knobs and buttons are for. Excellent tutorial Josh, I 'get it' at last. You are a brilliant teacher
so, in order to record a vocal track, you have to put a very long count before the intro so you have more time to run to your closet after hitting the record button in your laptop.. 😅
not necessarily. you could use a wireless keyboard and hotkey the record function, or a tablet/phone that mirrors/extends the monitor. also there are mobile apps for controlling DAWs
Nice setup man, love the interior's vibe, I do have some suggestions for you though, #1 - your monitors should optimally be at ear height, this is absolutely crucial, #2 - your monitors should be either side of your screen in the middle of the desk, forming a triangle when your head sits in the middle, this is again, crucial, the back of the monitors should be facing toward the corner and the tweeters on either side directed toward your ear, place them an equal distance apart as well! Judging by your room I don't think you're going to put up bass traps or panels or anything like that right now, And now for #3, the monitors need to be off the desk, Infact you want them to be "floating" by floating I mean decoupled from your desk, as having them on your desk will give you an artificial low end and smeared stereo image, so what you need to achieve all of what I mentioned above is either: Some Fluid Audio DS5 stands or IsoAccoustics IsoL8r stands, you'd be surprised what a difference doing these things I mentioned + either of these accoustic stands! Your monitors will sound like different speakers, in a good way, don't take my word for it, try it out for yourself.

Dear Brother, Really loved your work and suggestion. I need answer of a question which is- “I don’t wanna be a singer just a musician like producing Soft-rock/jaaz/some party music, WHAT I Need to DO FOR That?” Waiting for your kind feedback.
If you're not singing then you can ignore the microphone. If you want to be a rock/jazz musician then that means you play guitar. All you need is your guitar with a line output which you can plug it into an audio interface. Then the audio interface will let you record your guitar on your computer into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). The DAW will also help you to make drum beats using just your computer. Then you can either use headphones or plug in speakers like I did in this video. Hope that helps!

Most of them have free demos. Try them out and see which you like best. Or just look up your favorite artists and see what they use. I picked Ableton because a lot of electronic producers use it. You could also watch beginner UA-cam videos to see which workflow you like most. They are all good though. Pro tools. Ableton. Logic. FL. Etc.

Which soft wear is best to use when I’m trying to make vocals and beats
Most of them have free demos. Try them out and see which you like best. Or just look up your favorite artists and see what they use. I picked Ableton because a lot of electronic producers use it. You could also watch beginner UA-cam videos to see which workflow you like most. They are all good though. Pro tools. Ableton. Logic. FL. Etc.
you forgot to mention your macbook which is probably 4 times more the price of your setup
not to mention the software with plugins....
Yeah that's the real cost sink right there 💵🤦♂️
The closet singing booth was great lol.
