I remember this song as well, because this came out while I was still in high school back in 1974. For the longest time I had been wondering if there was a longer version of "Doctor's Orders". Well, thanks to the mighty Disco Cat, there is now. And it sounds even better. Thank you for getting my weekend off to a good start. Be safe, I beg of you. Another AM radio favorite! Had a non-stop disco hits album in which some other high beats-per-minute segued perfectly into Doctor's Orders. Nice to see it used in "The Last Days of Disco" motion picture back in the '90s.
Never heard this song before, but I’d say this is a really nice mix. It really flows nicely! If I didn’t know this was something you did, I would think that it was an official 12” mix.
This is a great song with tremendous climb in it. The notes climb up. the instruments increase, the background voices climb to a creshendo climax within the song. Someone should try remaking it today with 100 background singers and an large 50 piece orchestra with a couple of tubas and a brass Section several drummers and big symbols coming into it near the end to make the climax very loud and unmistakable.
I do remember lucky 13 , the antenna was on the right hand side of the bay Bridge heading to SF. Do you remember KSOL San Mateo ? I graduated in 74 also 😅

As a french Canadian, I also remember the french version of this song from 1975 by Anne Renée. She was married to René Angélil (Céline Dion's husband) at the time. The name of the french song is "Le docteur m'a dit" (The doctor told me).
Back in the early 1990's, I was interviewed for a financial job by the co-owner of a small record label. When I saw the producer's name at 0:04, it brought back memories as that was the guy! I never knew Ed produced this smash hit. I just did a little research to refresh my memory, and suddenly remembered his label was Next Plateau Records. I also never knew at the time he was the co-founder of Midland International Records! Back then, the internet was in its infancy with AOL dialup being our main outlet, no Wikipedia, and search engines did not elicit this voluminous amount of information. It's quite different from today, when an interviewee can walk in with the history of the company and his interviewer at his fingertips.
