- Every year theres a giant shrimp migration that starts in Miami. Fish like tarpon stage up at inlets, bridges and feed on the forage. I went down to Miami with my buddy @JohnnyStabile and we spent two days fishing the urban city of Miami for these monster fish!

I just caught my first tarpon I could touch only about a 2 pounder but he was acrobatic as heck and super fun. Can’t wait to get a tarpon like any of these in this video

they're just a big game fish and are protected by law. plus they look like they yield a ton of meat but are really bony

I don't quite understand why people target a species that they have no intention of keeping to eat. You're just stressing/exhausting/torturing them for no reason. But if you're going to do it anyway, I'm glad to see that you take care when reviving/releasing them.

Why isn't there any catch clean and cooks on tarpon?
People don’t really eat them at all. They are a soft, formless meat with an insane amount of bones. Also, Florida is catch and release only by law. There’s an exception if you purchase a tarpon keep tag, but that can only be used in pursuit of a state or world record, which, while big, this fish was not.
