Atleast it got released most people keep them all. Somtimes I see people just throwing fish on shore to die now thats disrespectful throwing them 8n the water isnt going to hurt them any thats for sure
It's ok,it won't kill the fish, trust me dude, been there and seen many barracuda caught and handled the same way,not one fish ever got hurt or killed from throwing him back in,and if they did it would just get eaten up by the other fish. ..
I have been fishing for a long time, in my experience it is true that sometimes with all the care in the world a fish will be to exhausted to regain strength and live. But handling that barracuda the way he did by launching it several feet in the air, grabbing it by the eyes and throwing it from such a height is not good fishing practice... You have great channel and a large audience that are watching! It is great that you want to be transparent but please promote good fishing practices and respect your catch like in your other videos. Regards
There is another you tube fisherman in Florida who fishes from piers. He shows good practice to protect the resource. Pull the fish up from the water in a hoop net and release it back down in the net. That's the kind of catch and release that's sustainable. You or somebody else might be able to catch that fish again. Or you can choose to persist in the behavior of reckless handling, thoughtless release and people will continue to be annoyed by the lack of responsibility displayed.
That's his point, it's being released so treat it better. If you're going to keep it then it's not as big of a deal whacking it against the concrete. Respect our resource, brother.
That is a 4 star day on that bridge..I personally have not had much luck at channel 2 or 5..I have seen some guys do the mutton, permit, and cubera thing out there..As good as it gets..
By far the best informative fishing UA-camr! Other people might have you beat on comedy and video production but you are the best all around fisherman. Big subs on the way
All my years in S. Florida and the Keys and I never knew Permit were so common around the bridges. I caught a small one on Card Sound but thought it was just a freak accident.

Amazing place Congratulations beautiful video Fisherman! *Hug.* 👍🎣🐠
Hi, Vic and friends. Here's an idea for a catch and cook and it's devilishly simple. Mix one part Italian salad dressing with one part French salad dressing. Brush the mixture on your fish, let it sit for an hour or two, and grill or broil it until it's done to your taste then grind some fresh pepper on it and add a touch of lemon juice. Easy, peasy, and delicious! I've used this recipe on every fish, from walleye to bluefish, and it has never let me down. Although; it tends to work better with fish that are naturally oily. Tuna steaks, salmon steaks, any trout, white bass, northern pike, and barracuda (Yes! Barracuda!) are probably my favorites. Heck! I've even used this recipe for freshwater drum and everyone I've served it to has been convinced that it's a "true game fish". Sigh... even this favorite recipe of mine can't make Mississippi River carp palatable. Cheers!
If you don't have French dressing just the Italian dressing works great. Or just teriyaki sauce, or make your own teriyaki with soy sauce and sugar. Teriyaki barracuda cooked hot and fast under the broiler is so good!
I agree, Jon, though terriaki is just a tad sweet for my taste. Straight soy sauce with a little salt, pepper, lemon, garlic, ginger, and a light coat of olive oil? Awesome! But? Salad dressing hits most of the same notes and it's a lot easier to use, especially for outdoor grilling. Now? I'm heading out for the first concentrated effort of the summer to catch big pike. They aren't great eating at this time of year but I know a few holes where the really big ones, 36 inches and up, hang out. Cheers!
I guess I like it a little sweet. The straight soy makes it too sour for me without a little sweetness to balance it. I had a bunch of marlin steaks. I marinated some in teriyaki and some in Italian dressing then grilled both. People went back for seconds of the teriyaki and I got leftover Italian marinade for me to eat the next day. So many ways to prepare fish well. Just don't overcook it and everybody's happy.
That's quite true, Jon. Part of the reason why I shy away from using a sweeter marinate is that I'm landlocked so I only get "real" fresh seafood a couple times a year. Usually I end up with sweeter, white meat, fish like walleye and panfish so the closest I usually get to real marine fish are white bass, trout, and the salmon from my yearly trip to Lake Michigan. When I do get a chance to prepare something like bonito or barracuda I go with something a bit sweeter though, for my taste, that usually just means using lime and tomato juice instead of lemon. Heck! If worst came to worst I could eat rat's rear ends if they are broiled in garlic butter. BTW. Wanna hear about a really simple grilled side dish for good seafood? Take a full portabella mushroom cap, gills up, and add about a 1/8 inch of seasoned bread crumbs. Then add a thin slice of egg plant, more bread crumbs, a slice of red onion, more bread crumbs, a thin slice of tomato, more bread crumbs, then a little pile of fresh Parmesan cheese. You can just set them on a piece of foil on the grill or under the broiler and give them just a minute or two head start in front of your fish. Cheers!

Do you ever go fishing at the Sebastian inlet ? I'm going to be down for the winter for 4 months and I'd love to learn from someone who really knows what they're doing. I live to fish!
Awsome video once again! What brand of pier net is it you use that are strong enough to pull up those goliath's with?? And where do you get em?? Thanks Vic!
Victor, I'm going to be in Florida this weekend for my bachelor party. It's me my dad and best friend. Our gulf deep sea trip got cancelled due to weather. You think you can take us somewhere special with you? Been a long time subscriber and love your videos! It's my last hoorah before marriage, and I'd love to meet you man! Do it for a wedding present haha
Possibly try and target tarpon with a spool with either full mono or a big topshot? I mean if u got a bg 6500 or 5000 spooled with mono 20 or 25 lb, and then you go to a heavy leader, as long as that knot is good im sure the tarpon ratios landing and hookup would increase due to the extreme stretch and cushion of the mono or fluoro. maybe give it a try next time your down there? Nice vid anyways haha
Hi Victor - I'm going down to the Bahamas next week was wondering if you can recommend an open boat for two people. We don't really want to rent a charter for just two people.
Hey Vic, Too much caffeine this morning??? the herky jerky video is what we expect from a 12 year old kid with a go pro he found washed up on the beach. Do your self and us a favor and get a Sony fdr-x3000 , at least they have stabilization.
Hey brother watch u all the time. I noticed u saying how hard it is to land tarpon. Try the 9ft ugly stick gx2 medium action. The flexibility in the pole will help keep them hooked up. OH BY THE WAY I SAW YOUR STRIPER FISHING VIDEOS. I ALSO LIVE IN CONNECTICUT. AWESOME VIDEOS.IF YOU EVER COME UP THIS WAY AGAIN CONSIDER HOOKING UP WITH ME. I WILL PUT U ON SOME MONSTERS. Landshark Fishing I fishing the first bridge during the summer..(I won’t tell the spot) and I stayed at the resort across the street and in 2 days I caught 4 permit 1 tarpon and 3 barracuda...at first the permit wouldn’t eat with a 5/0 circle hook to then I went to a 4/0 and they nailed it every time and most of the permit I caught was straight down eating off of the pilings..and the tarpon wouldn’t eat anything so I threw a jig and a live target mullet at them and they ate really fast and also the barracuda ate everything they even attacked my permit right before I netted it.
The permit died because you didn't revive it enough in the net. When you drop it down you have to bring it up and down in the water before you release it from the net to make sure it is revived enough
Hey Vik, sick video you never disappoint. Hope you go back to the keys to bridge fish for redemption the 11th or 12th of August (or any day after) so hopefully I see you there that'd be neat.
