- 👋 How can I afford a Nissan GT-R and 2020 Toyota Supra at 25 years old? From a $14k Hyundai to over $130k worth of cars in 3.5 years! Today I talk about how I was able to afford the GT-R and Supra. I purchased both cars on my own using money management skills and budgeting. And learning the ins and out of automotive financing was the other half to work my way to an easy approval for these. In all honestly it's very straight forward to be able to afford cars like this with an average salary, and if you stay positive, budget your money and take baby steps. Anyone can do this!
Nothing in life will ever get handed to you, you simply have to earn everything on your own. Don't expect handouts in life, only you can make your dreams and goals happen! :). Buying the GT-R was a 10 year goal and making the purchase was the result of saving up every little bit of money and building good financial credit. Buying the new Supra was the result of doubling my business in 6 months after loosing my full time job.
Every large item I purchase is planned many years ahead, and controlling what I spend to get by with the minimum makes it super easy. I would rather make all my own foods and pack a lunch if that can cover a car payment on my dream cars. So it's little things like that. Also, building credit you will be able to use auto financing to your advantage and responsibly finance expensive cars. Lastly, don't chase money or objects. Do what you are passionate about and become very good at it. Add value to yourself that way, and before you know it, other companies will pay you for your skills.

Exactly! I just bought a Lamborghini and I have a newer Supra now. Baby steps in the beginning and continuing to live below my means makes this so easy on a middle class salary. I still pack a lunch every day and wear clothes off the clearance rack ;)

I'm 18, starting university early next year, only have about $3000 (usd) in my bank account, but I'm determined to budget, to save, and to work my ass off with a part time job throughout my 3 year degree in order to buy my dream car by the time I finish Uni. 💪 (second hand EP3 type R's are around $8000, my goal)

Cheers for all the GTR and Supra videos. Great vid topic, keep up the great work. I got to test Drive a GR Supra last week and it was so much fun and balanced around the corners. But then again felt sensible at slow speed. Hope I can get one at some point. Did not realise about the bank finance PCP/HCP stuff will look into more, and probably go Celica 7th gen(own)-GT86 first gen(Finance), GR Supra first gen(Finance).

I keep telling myself I can do this too. Looking at the situations my friends and coworkers put themselves in spending loosely and having children and such, I can totally do it if i stay the course.
You can do it! Keep up the positive attitude and you can do anything! I was always the kid who packed a lunch from preschool, to college, and even the 3 years at my normal job. That type of mind set made these cars easy, while everyone else went into debt

I was once 25 back in the day and I sure wish I would have done these things then. Now that I'm older I'm not letting that stop me from achieving my goals. I'm currently disgruntled with my situation and I'm trying to get some things together so I could work for myself. You know I'm a longtime subscriber and I've always admired you on how much you have succeeded and I've always admired your personality and a lot of people don't look at it that way but if you're nice to people good things will happen!

I spent a lot in 2019 on food and other items that I thought I needed. Started changing in about November, bought food from the grocery store and cooked my own meals and take a sandwich to work for lunch. I was actually surprised at the results after just a couple of months. Hope they still make the Supra in a couple of years!

While I enjoy your channel I will say that I was skeptical when I started watching this but your tone is more about choices and less about cars. Wether it’s nice cars, a nice home or perhaps starting a business. Decide what your passion is and make the proper sacrifice to attain it. Good message.

Really good advice I do pretty much the same thing , this works in 2019 I owned 8 cars / SUV’s . Now I don’t keep them long because I usually flip them , but this allows me to get the cars / trucks / SUV’s I’ve wanted . GTR is in the near future & hopefully a C8 by 2021

Good luck with all the credit....it tends to burn most of us mere mortals. Less truly is more! The freedom and all the well earned efforts of buying cash and owning your own car (and not the bank) is priceless.
True. But my cars are business assets for me that earn more then I spend on them. So I can take a loan out and get these cars sooner and starting making money on them sooner. GTR is almost paid off too. So if you can be responsible. Nothing wrong with financing to get what you want.

Like you said even if you make just 35k or 40k a year you can still afford your dream car just by keeping that debt to income ratio down.. it’s really that easy lol. I mean, u know how the sales person and finance guy wants you to buy all the gap insurance, insurance for this and that, and some more stuff for the car in case it scratches, or flat tires accidents etc a bunch of brochures that they show u. Did u get all of that or u knew better?

Takes time to build credit. But some small loans on cars, pay them off early and you'll be in good shape! Paid off the GTR in 4 years. Have had the title to it over a year now. Will be paying off our S3 less than a year after buying it. Easy stuff anyone can do
I’m 21 and I just bought a Supra lol. I am financing mines too. I work 6 days a week, I don’t eat outside or go cruising wasting gas. I avoid car meets, instead I do part time job as a mechanic. I only go to grocery to buy things I want to cook at home.

I almost bought a Supra a couple of days ago, I can do what you do. Honestly my evo is almost paid off, and I rather have more money in my wallet. Able to buy stuff and travel without caring about monthly payment + whatever interest rate you get for 4-6 years. Having 0 debt is much more fun than having a sport car. The " affect " of owning your dream car will wear off in a year or two.
Yeah having 0 debt would be nice. But of course I only own cars that I can easily afford. People make the mistake where they over extend themselves and go broke making payments on an expensive car. I budget very well and only take on a car payment if I can afford to continue to make the payments for a whole year with 0 income. Thats why to me, building a savings account is so important. I get to live exactly how I want to at this moment and enjoy the cars I love. While still building up for future goals like achieving a family of my own and my own house.
Every supercar owner that I have ever met has 'never' paid cash for any of their cars. They all say the same thing, never pay cash for a car, used credit as leverage! If you aren't already doing it, maybe work with car dealers to review cars and advertise their dealer. Like the new Z coming out.. Hope to see your channel break 1 million subs!

Nice! Keep it up and you'll be in good shape! Positive equity is anytime you owe less money then the car is worth. So if you can sell the car for $25k and you owe $10k. You have $15k in positive equity. When you pay it off, you own the whole car so you have 100% equity. I recently paid off the GTR and now own it outright, and I sold the Supra and had $26k positive equity. So I got a check for that amount once it sold ;)

Here is the video I made on insurance. I drive about 7k miles a year in the cars and 3k on the bike. Averaging maybe 20 mpg in the cars and 40 on the bike. Just do the math on gas prices. ;)

Start now!! It's never too late to start! Just think, you do that for 1 whole month. You'll have a solid $500 to go towards whatever you want. Once you get in the habit it becomes normal. I've been doing this since I was a kid. So once I was on my own in Highscool and college, I was the only one who could actually afford to do things. Its a crazy way to save!

@@jermihoneycutt worked my ass off from a help desk position to application engineer. Started my help desk position at 21. I don't have a college degree btw, but I had my daughter at 20 so I had to start doing things fast. One main thing is building up your credit. Start of small with credit cards only use 30% of your limit and be on time with payments. Then a cheap car. Then a more expensive car if you want or a house

27 with 2 kids, bought a 3 bedroom house 3 months ago , I have a built 05 chrysler 300 5.7. Dodge ram. I have alotta cars since I flipp cars as my second income. 2013 expedition, 2011 Lexus, 2012 Chevy tahoe, suburban. I have alot. I plan on selling alot to fund me buying my dream car. 2009 nissan gtr. But I love investing, thinking of real estate this year. I think the car will have to be put on hold again 🙄

One very important thing I notice is missed in this video is insurance. You have to add that to the payment of a car. So that $400 car payment could easily turn into a $600 car payment.
Here is the insurance vid for the cars. It's really not that much per car. Anyone who can budget well enough to afford the car shouldn't have any issue with insurance. As long as they have a good record, and do insurance the smart way to minimize cost.

How about taxes, utilities (heat/electricity), cell phone, home owners/renters insurance, auto insurance, maintenance, TV, streaming services etc etc etc
Michael Goldstein I rent, so all that other stuff was included. Insurance is only about $80 a month on the GTR. Taxes was included stance I said take home pay. And cell phone is $30
Bros FOURR Speed You guys are really lucky in the US. I pay $80 a month for my 150 horsepower Opel Corsa. Insurance for a GT-R in my country would cost me four times more than what you pay.
I am making around 66,000 a year. And man I’ve been wanting a Supra so so so bad but everyone tells me it’s a bad move. But this is a total dream of mine. Only current issue is I live in a apartment and I may have to street park so there is a chance the car might be broken into or something? Any thoughts on owning a nice car in a apartment?
Only you can control what happens for you! Unless you feel like it’s a bad move, don’t let others control what you want in life!! I lived in an apartment and bought my GTR and my brother lived in an apartment when he bought his R8! We both had garages though!
People thought we were stupid to buy these cars and rent an apartment, but we both knew what we were doing and each own houses now with these cars! If you are smart and have a plan, stick to it!
Not having a garage though is a tough one…if you have a good spot to always park and have a cover, that’s about all you can do…as far as getting broken into, that depends on where you live and the situation I guess..but just be smart about what’s best for you!!!
