  • This is an updated revised review from a similar one I uploaded yesterday. Corrected a bracket from the OEM exhaust mount that I had inadvertently left on. Also added some additional commentary and better imagery of the install points.
The sound of the exhaust is a deeper, more “bassy” tone than how it sounds here.
Here is another quick short showing the exhaust closer and from above and the side so one can see the clearance from the swingarm

For others the part about the header tubes/cylinder head bushing and flanges: This is absolutely correct. If you build this on the bench you will never get those header tubes into the bushings when its fastened to the collector. The tolerance is of the bushings is to tight and you cant align them all at once. I am not sure if the OP mentioned but there are 3 gaskets on the cylinder head. they will not allow the bushings to seat and need removed. the bushings seat about 1/4 inch into the cylinder head (tightly), right where those gaskets were.

Very good insights on doing the exhaust modification 👍

This makes me laugh. You honestly gave me a moment. I did my lv yesterday and had removed the bracket. I had used the first part of your video to do the install, and didn't review the post install since the first time I saw it. I got it all done, and watched another youtuber and he had the oem bracket still on! then I watched your original and you did too! then I got in the manual and looked at photo 11 and it wasn't super clear.. but it looked like it wasn't there. Then I saw this and I can rest easy! LOL. By the way the radiator support bolt in the center was a real treat! also on the rear hanger bracket the top black stud.. I can get it tight. I don't see a nut on the back? ideas? I also have mine very high and snug. the rear tip is about 1 inch from the trailing arm.. hoping that when the suspension unloads this is enought travel.. not sure if it matter or not.

I’m not sure if you have it right if the rear exhaust tip is only an inch away from the swing arm. I also am not quite sure which is the black hanger bolt you mention are having trouble tightening. I’m going to post another quick UA-cam short of the exhaust close up from above and from the side so you can get a good view of the clearances. Will link it here in a few minutes once it’s up

@@raisingcane225 I think if it doesnt hit.. then I really like it, because its tucked away. The LV supplied bracket with the 2 holes. The top black stud.

@@Turbotuberx3 If I remember correctly the top black stud/bolt and nut were part of the original OEM exhaust hardware. Here is another video short, let me know if this helps.

@@Turbotuberx3 the black stud - or what appears to be a stud - I think is a long bolt that goes from one side to the other. Look at the base of the kick stand area, you can see a black bolt-head there and I’m pretty sure that’s it. Need a socket or wrench on there while you tighten the nut on the side of the exhaust with the LV supplied oval shaped bracket with the two holes

Hold on what was that talk about leaving exhaust to the youngsters! Hehe. Please share your thought process on selecting this vs the others. I'm currently thinking about the Yoshi the most.

Thanks for this awesome video! I will be putting this on my MT09, but it's the same. Can you confirm if the gaskets (between the bushings and the engine) are needed, or like one other comment here suggests - should not be installed?

I honestly can’t remember for sure if I reused the original exhaust gaskets or not when I installed the LeoVince. I’m leaning towards having reused them but again am not positive. The only way for me to know for sure is to loosen the radiator support and try and see if so - which is a major pain in the ass. I can’t find in my box of stock stuff that I have taken off the bike the gaskets, so it is likely I did reuse them. In any event you will know when you attempt to install the three collector pipes if you reuse them or not. Be patient and take your time, hand fitting the pieces without the springs to understand how they are to be oriented. It may seem complicated at first but once you figure the orientation and order it goes quickly and easily. It’s been a few months now and I remain super happy with the exhaust.
I finally am getting my motovlog gear properly sorted including and most importantly the audio with DJI mics and hope to soon be doing better quality - audio and visual wise - that better demonstrates how good this exhaust actually sounds.
Good luck with you set up!

Thank you for replying. I've also asked a couple of other people, and everyone said the gaskets are indeed needed. I will be installing mine in a few days after I receive it :)

Yeah, at the beginning when I first got the bike I was planning to - or at most mod the OEM exhaust removing some of the baffle to make it slightly louder. But after seeing a video from Moore Mafia on this LV exhaust - both the improved aesthetics and much improved tone, I couldn’t resist. With the LV baffle in place, but cut to around 2” it’s original length, it’s got the sound I want - neither too loud or too quiet.

What brand of sliders you have?

    • @raisingcane225
      @raisingcane225  11 місяців тому

The ones on the forward upper frame just below the tank are Womet-Tech Evos edition. I got them from TST Industries.
      tstindustries.com/womet-tech-evos-edition-frame-sliders-yamaha-mt-09-xsr900.html
I plan on getting WT’s rear axle block sliders for swing arms, but they have not been in stock for months… I had to wait about 2 months for the WT Evos to get back in stock and looking now, they are again out of stock.
If you re in the USA about your only option is getting them from TST as I think they are exclusive distributors for Womet-Tech. WT is in Europe, Poland if I remember correctly and I assume they have multiple European distributors, in case you are over there.
The ones on the front forks are just some cheapie ones I got off E-bay, and the spools on the back swing arms the same. The rear spools would be totally ineffective as sliders.
