Yamaha XSR 900 chill ride at Miami's Matheson Hammock Park and Marina
Easy ride on my Yamaha XSR900 at Miami Dade County Florida's Matheson Hammock Park & Marina.
Hope to have more videos soon on the bikes (my other is a '20 Indian Scout Bobber) showing some of the other interesting sights and history of parts of south Florida and the Florida Keys. Next up will be one on Chapman Field Park and the story and location of the 1986 "FBI Miami Shootout" - the deadliest shootout in FBI history.
This is my first "real" video with some very mild editing after finally dialing-in my moto-vlogging cameras and microphones. Bear with me as I'm a total noob at this and will likely do a little more tweaking of the mic placement and gain levels, and of course, over time better editing skills with generally shorter videos of 7-10 minutes.
This is a combo of footage from a DJI Osmo Action 4 (helmet chin mounted) and a pair of Insta 360X3 cameras (on the handlebar and an extended pole off the back). Microphones used were two DJI Wireless Mics and wireless transmitter and a pair of MOVO ACM-400 Gooseneck lavalier mics.
Editing software is Davinci Resolve v 8.6.4. No manipulation (i.e. E.Q. or compression, etc.) of the audio was done other than use of DaVinci's "audio normalization" which attempts to level out the volume of the audio from the different clips for consistency. The video was straight out of the cameras with no color grading and at 30FPS.
Have fun riding everyone, and stay frosty!

    I have the same bike here in NY. I put a top case on it but the holder causes the side cases to mount a little wide. I enjoy having the top case to put my helmet in when I park and use as a little platform when getting ready for a ride. How do you secure your helmet when you park? Is the exhaust you put on a game changer? How is the comfort on that seat? I find the factory seat a little uncomfortable but I thought that was because I don't have enough "time in the saddle". I put on the performance damper, heated grips (NY) , a little windshield which I'm not crazy about the looks of it. I like the ride quality improvement of the damper at high and low speeds. I also put the 12v adapter on the handle bars and a battery tender hook up by the seat for heated gear.

      Hello. I have my helmet set up with a DJI Osmo Action 4 and a 10,000 Mah battery on the back to charge it, as well as a Cardo PackTalk Edge (have a separate video up about all that). Because of that it’s kind of expensive and I never leave the helmet unattended with the bike. It’s a PITA but I carry it around - sometimes with a strap - a.co/d/3vn9BxO Theft is an issue here in Miami so I don’t risk leaving anything of real value on the bike or even in the storage bags. The Corbin is a little more comfortable than the stock seat. But I recently re-covered my stock seat with a Kelp Customs seat and had them add like a 1/8” extra padding - which probably does little. I really like the Kelpi and it’s not really uncomfortable - but I rarely ride more than a couple hours continuous without stopping for a stretch. The exhaust for me was a HUGE difference - both the sound and aesthetic. I had the ECU flashed - FlashedbyVCyclenut.com as well. The Dart Flyscreen I have works great. Don’t have a damper - do you mean like a steering damper? Take a look at some of my other vids. Happy to reply to any questions or comments. Enjoy your bike and stay safe!

    • @raisingcane225
      @raisingcane225 3 місяці тому

      @@speed433 I have both the Kelpi recover of the OEM shell and opted for a very slight additional foam layer under it when ordering, as well as the Corbin Gunfighter and Lady seat - see my separate video on that. Of the two the Corbin is a bit more comfortable and although I have yet to take a passenger for sure it will be more comfortable for a passenger than the Kelpi or stock seat. I like them both but having been using almost exclusively the Kelpi for several months now. I don’t find the Kelpi to be noticeably less comfortable than the Corbin and aesthetically I kind of prefer it when not using a tail bag. With a tail bag the Corbin is lower and flatter at the back and the tail bag will sit lower and protrude up less. If I didn’t have my SW-Motech side carriers and bags I would for sure use a tail bag and then it would be the Corbin for that reason. Give the stock seat some time - it’s not as bad as people say and you get used to it. Enjoy your bike, these are great machines. Stay safe.

      Sorry for the delay in reply. The ABS cases are water resistant, but not waterproof. Water can still get in through the zippers. The plastic roll-up bags that they come with are. An easy solution for these or any bags that aren’t water proof is Zip-Loc freezer storage bags. They re cheap, come in an array of sizes from 1 quart, 1 gallon and 2 gallon. I just put delicate stuff like camera equipment and batteries etc in side the Zip-Locs, and then put them in the SW-Motech bags.

      @raisingcane225 6 місяців тому

      Believe it or not I have a year with the bike now and have yet to take a passenger on it! I by myself have ridden for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours straight without a dismount at a a time on many occasions and a few times for around 7-8 hours cumulative in a single day but with multiple stops for fuel, stretch breaks, etc. That said, just looking at this Corbin compared to the stock - particularly the rear area where a passenger would sit, there is ALOT more seat space for the passenger than on the stock seat, which you can see is much narrower at the back and tapers. The Corbin is quite a bit wider - and note this is Corbin’s “Gunfighter and Lady” version - they make a different version for single riders. I’m certain this Corbin for a passenger would be more comfortable than the OEM seat. While I have a couple of potential passenger riders who might ride with me at some point, it’s not likely to be anytime soon, and even so it’s very unlikely to be a ride of over and hour or so.

    Do they slide on and of as fast as the other ones?

    • @raisingcane225
      @raisingcane225 6 місяців тому

      Yes, the Urban ABS rigid cases attach and detach exactly as the Legend Gear versions do. The only difference in the attachment feature is that the Urban ABS ones on the INSIDE of the case have a “slide lever” where it locks the outside “detaching lever” mechanism from being able to be operated. The Legend bags do not have that locking capability. In other words once the Urban ABS is installed to the mount, with the case opened there is this lever that when moved yo the locked position will not allow the bag to be removed from the mount from the outside. The bag needs to be opened, the lever moved to the “unlock” position and then it can be removed. Understand the Urban ABS zip close and are made of lightweight ABS plastic, sort of like a lightweight carry on luggage. The zippers can be locked with their supplied lock (or some other small one suitable for luggage). But in terms of true security, these are not aluminum or steel and the ABS can be cut into and/or the small locks at the zipper points cut off. Anyone thinking the bags provide true security for valuables is unrealistic- but the Urban ones certainly are more secure than the Legends for sure. But the ease of removal and installation to the bike is the same with both versions. The Urban is quite a bit larger, and with two of them installed, the width overall of the bike is quite a lot larger than without the bags or compared to the Legends. For me since most of my riding is just short day rides, there is enough room for what I might need in the Legends and since they don’t lock at all, I don’t leave any particularly valuable things in them, or I can just take the bag off and take it and its contents with me. I hope to do a side by side comparison video of the two bags soon and will include measuring the width of the two different sets to each other installed on the bike. Hope this is of some help

      The Helite Turtle 2 vest costs about $680. Yes, it’s pricey but ai think it’s worth it. Look on UA-cam for a video by FortNine on airbag vests. He looks at several and concludes this one is the best. There are Chinese airbag vests at much lower cost but I wouldn’t have too much confidence in them. The Icon Field Armor Compression shirt is about $150. There are also many jacket options out there. Since I live in So Florida and the heat is so bad, I don’t often wear my dedicated motorcycle jacket, and sometimes not even the Icon Compression shirt. I do always wear the Helite, helmet, gloves and boots and also always use a Leatt 3DF 5.0 Impact shorts and Icon Field Armor 3 Knee guards ($130 and $95, respectively at Revzilla) which I wear under my jeans or pants. Most of my gear I get at Revzilla. Knock on wood, 30 years riding I’ve not ever crashed or gone down on the bike. But I am a believer in wearing as much protective gear as one can afford, as often and consistently as possible.

With the LV baffle in place, but cut to around 2” it’s original length, it’s got the sound I want - neither too loud or too quiet.

    Sir, can I use the same technique to install my Hollyland lark m1 in my helmet?

      I don’t own a Hollyland Lark but looking at them on Amazon it looks like they have a couple of different models. The Hollyland Lark MAX appears to have on its microphone/transmitters a metal clip with a circular magnet - similar to the DJI Mic. I think any similar mic with a metal clip on the mic could work with a magnet installed into the padding of a helmet the way I have it in the video.

      LOL - no, that station happens to be 1/3 mile from my house and their pump color scheme just happens to match the XSRs. Not that I mind though 😊
