Comparing a Mopar Package Tray to a Reproduction!

In this video I review a new Legendary Auto Package Tray for my 1970 Cuda. My factory one was in rough shape being over 50 years old. I also wanted one that had speaker cut outs in it. I thoroughly review and show the unboxing of the new package tray.

Another nice new part for the interior ' I wouldn't be happy about that crack on the underside though ' In time I can imagine it showing on the top ' I'd be taking steps to get some satisfaction from the freight people and get a replacement.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about it. I am going to reach out to Legendary this week but i'm sure they will say to take up with the shipper. We'll see how that goes.

At one time I had four 6x9 speakers in my rear deck. It didn't sound as good as I thought it would, so I ended-up getting a new package tray and I removing two of them. The speaker grills I have now are mounted above the surface, destroying the original look. I think to mount speakers without protrusions, they'd have to be mounted before the tray goes-in, maybe with some nylon mesh to keep junk from getting inside.

My plan is to mount 6x9 under metal of the package tray and leave the cardboard package tray uncut. Hope to attempt that soon. I like the idea of 4 6x9s though 🙂
