OH MY GOSH. this is incredible🙈😱 I had Alter Ego reach out and send me a Palette last summer. In a video, I mentioned I received PR from them and would be doing a comparison to a Natasha Denona Palette and I had SO many people in the comments upset that I would support a brand that would rip off someone's hard work (ie Natasha Denona) I kindly explained that not everyone can afford a $129 Palette and it was a nice alternative and they just wasn't having it so I decided not to upload the video. 😞 I didn't want to offend anyone, Alter Ego understood and was so nice about it. But, my Gosh, this Palette is sooooo incredibly similar and I'm SO impressed. WELL DONE Alter Ego❤

I’ve had lots of comment saying the same which is honestly something that I totally understand. However I feel like my job is to review everything and there is lots of people who simply can not afford brands like Natasha or Pat McGrath. I myself couldn’t afford luxury makeup for the longest time and having an alternative would have been my only way to experience something similar. ❤️ Love you my friend! 😘😘

Tara i can't believe people where not happy, i have the PM palette but not everyone can afford that i myself had to save and then bought it on sale, i think its great that people who can't afford it can have some of the experience of the shades because like Patty said the PM is better

I love dupes. If you want to spend the money for the real thing you absolutely should (and usually with expensive brands it’s about the prestige and superior packaging) but I’m broke as hell and dupes are a godsend.
Actually I prefer the tones of the Alter Ego shades better. I wish they shipped internationally already! So sad!

I am more into cool colors vs warm and so the Alter Ego one is not up my alley. Too orange. I'm not a fan of copycat companies but appreciate your hard work!

I wish PM offered Afterpay or Klarna. She does offer something similar but it requires a credit check which is crazy and not what Klarna/Afterpay does. I always use Klarna/Afterpay for more expensive orders and always pay too. It's usually how I get exactly what I want and not have to settle because of money. But....I'll settle for this dupe 100% because it's just as good IMO!! You would never be able to tell the difference on the eyes if you didnt know. Yes to Alter Ego!!

I'm a huge PM fan and will always opt for her products, even if there was an absolute dupe - her packaging is deal breaker.
That said, I love that Alter Ego has tried (and almost succeeded) to produce a dupe. For those who can't stretch/refuse to pay so much for a PM palette Alter Ego palettes are a blessing.

Alter Ego has some great palettes and I would rather spend $16-22 for a dupe then spend $129 for the Pat McGrath. But thanks for the review.
I know her "special shades", like the duochromes are more expensive to create and there's no way you could get those shifty tones in an inexpensive pallet. her packaging is also really lux, like a jewelry box. that said, the alter ego pallet looks like a quality pallet for the money. I'm not a big fan of them straight up copying an indie brand though, I wish they would just be creative and do their own colour stories. I can't afford a PMG pallet though realistically so I get where you're coming from.
I see you 👀 using this BK brushes!! I love mine too! The handles are what make it for me compared to others❤️.
I can definitely see the difference between the two eyes. The Pat McGrath eye looks softer and more blended, but the Alter Ego is so close. For the price, I think the Alter Ego is definitely worth it. Your eye looks are always so pretty - you are talented!
It looks relatively similar but I preferred the PM look, the colours look more special on your eye x

I love Pat McGrath she is amazing and why I will continue to buy her pallet is because of her sales. To me as a brand it make her stand out. I don't know any other brand that does 30 % off because of this I'm a long life fan.
What? But there's a lot of brands that have equal and better sales :) besides she knows that many of her costumers wouldn't be able to buy her palettes if she don't have AT LEAST a 30% off, her prices are just too high that she needs to do it so she can expand her products to more costumers, but that's a tactic that 90% of the luxury brands use.
They need to start shipping internationally !!! 😭😭😭😭

Wow this shocked me as I preferred the Alter Ego eye! 😲 i think that orangey pink shade looked prettier in the AE palette as it looked more duochrome than the PM shade. Not that I'm bashing Mother as I am in love with her palettes 🙏🏽❤

The guessing game is always fun! I had a feeling based on the swatches that the alter ego was going to come out a little more orange-ish. That said it is close and both are beautiful. If I didn’t have DR I already I would probably try AE’s version. I enjoy some of their other duped palettes. Thank you for the video.

I've always been 50/50 about dupes, they're copies of another company's work, but on the other hand, not everyone can or wants to spend $$ on a palette. I think the good thing is that it's up to each person. If you can and want the PM, go for it, if you can't or don't want to, buy the AE.

There's so much more unethical things in this world than copying someone to make things available for hard working ppl or just ppl in general that can't afford luxury things. Like not being able to feed your family or committing crimes to feed your family bc you spent around $150 for a eyeshadow palette.

I like your left side better, and I think it’s the PM side... it just seems more blended and softer yet impactful
If you want some crazy alternatives to MPL go for glamshop pl. They have singles of holographic, turbo pigments, and multichrome. I love motherhood palettes because of the overall artistry but people in Poland just don't buy them cos glam shop has the same quality, more colour options and is really affordable

I have two of the Alter Ego palettes. They are amazing at duping high end palettes. I think they out did themselves with this dupe of the Pat McGrath palette. Kudos to them.although I have many of Pat McGRATH palettes, I would still buy the Alter Ego palette. You did justice to both palettes in this video.. beautiful looks. 💕💕
Wow I’m surprised how great and similar. My husband bought me the Rose 2 so I wouldn’t bother But if they come out with other dupes I think I will definitely try an alter ego one. What a great savings!
Both locks are gorgeous. Very little difference on my monitor. I prefer the slightly orange of the altar ego as I'm not really a gold person. Glad you approve. I'll get it because I will never ever spend $125 on eyeshadow again. Especially I will only wear this rarely and I've already got over 100 pallets. Don't really need any more. So so similar! I almost couldn’t tell! However after further inspection I guessed your left side was pat mcgrath due to it being just a bit more pigmented and glittery.
Hi Patty, I wasn’t feeling too great, so I took a break watching makeup video’s, feeling good, so I’m back (thank God)! I think it is the right side that is Pat McGrath, I also own most of her shadows, but there more for a nighttime look, and at 57, with my kids grown and out of the house, not out that much at night, and there’s Covid, not that Covid would stop me at this point, it’s almost over. Maybe in the summertime my friends and I will start going out and going to concerts and fun things again. It didn’t watch the video, I judged just by looking at each side of your eyes. Now I will watch the whole video, and I will probably end up buying the Luster Palette, big difference $22.00 from $125.00. I used to keep all my makeup in my living room (it’s just me) set up really nice and sitting on my couch I could look at all my makeup, and I have too much makeup that in my lifetime I will never get too. So, I give a lot away to people who can’t afford to buy nice makeup, there never even opened! Ok, I will write back in a few minutes to hear my view!!! I actually liked the Alter Ego side better. The orange pink shift of the one shade is really pretty.
I don't support brands that ripp off creators, but I totally understand that not everyone can put 125$ in an eyeshadow palette, this is why there's a market for brands like Alter Ego. I personally have the PMG palette, I love the whole luxury experience with the packaging, but I had to save some money to be able to buy it. I am very impressed by the quality of the Alter Ego palette, very close to the PMG one. If you really love this color scheme and don't have the budget, I think this is a great option. PMG will always have loyal customers who love her and will buy her products and I think that people who would buy from Alter Ego wouldn't have bought from PMG anyway. But this is just a thought, and since Alter Ego does not ship internationally and I live in France, I will continue to support mama Pat. Great video 👌😍

Well...I was totally wrong...I picked the right eye as the PMG...I just used this Alter Ego palette today for the 1st time and it's awesome. I love Alter Ego and am very happy that they offer affordable alternatives to high end palettes.

I can see a difference in how the shadows applied especially your first color used. And the Pat version isn’t as orange. Nice option though for people who want to stay in a lower price range.

I've been watching so many reviews about patmcgrath palettes trying to find the one I love so I could finally buy my first palette from her taking advantage of the sales right now.. but there's nothing I find I would love for the price, and it doesn't come with many shades, half are normal mattes, so it's too pricey just to get the astral shade which I'm sure it's amazing but I can't see any palette worth it.. I have a few Natasha Denona palettes and I feel like I have the same or similar colours on her palettes. The only patmacgrath I found worth the price is the celestial divinity, but I realised I hate purples and it comes with too many of them! 😅 I decided to wait and see if she comes out with one I would totally love in the future.. I would totally try these dupes though!
Girl all the last week Pat McGrath had 30% off all her entire store you just missed the perfect time to get a full size palette for 98 bucks I think that the bronze seduction and the Divine Rose 2 are great palettes for your first go-round

I have never tried alter ego....as far as quality goes what brand would you say it's most similar to? is it like drug store quality, colourpop, elf, etc. or higher end such as too faced, tarte, urban decay etc.?

I don't think anything can come close to mother pat ,,, I'm biased but putting that aside ,,, I wonder how the "dupe" palette wears for an extended time ? it's not just about duping the colors but the longevity of the shades matter too ,,,, I say this because I remember getting a BH cosmetics palette (not a dupe for anything) but my point is I was obsessed with the shades but when I used it the shadows barely lasted on my lids an hour if that ,,, the shadows immediately became muddy and dull right away ... Patty how long did the shadows last ? and if you washed it off right away would you consider doing another look and seeing how the "dupe" shadows last ? xoxo beautiful looks nonetheless xoxo
