I 100% agree on the brushes!! Anytime someone tells me "the mattes suck" on any palette, the first thing I ask is what brushes they use. It makes such a huge difference, especially with indie and some luxury brands. I've used a crappy palette and still had good results when I switched the brushes. And I've used Natasha Denona and hated it. Brushes really make such a difference. Loved your ranking. I think Bronze Seduction will forever be my #1 LOL.
Pat McGrath Mothership Packaging is the the only makeup packaging I keep and display. I keep them on a bookshelf in my home office. That’s saying a lot since I have so much makeup and have never even thought twice about keeping any packaging. These boxes are truly works of art. I absolutely adore Mothership 1. I think it’s the most Chic cool toned palette with just enough edge. The motherships are a worthwhile investment and I think once you buy one you want them all. That’s what happened to me 😂.

Thank you for the roundup. After deep research, I purchased the Sublime palette as my first and am absolutely thrilled with it. A lot of the other palettes are similar. I found the sublime to have a great range and easy to use. The copper shades look nice on my tan skin tone. During the most recent sale, I also bought the Divine Rose and very happy with the color range. I’m glad I skipped the Divine Rose II. I’m giving away my Urban Decay palettes since these two PM satisfy every eyeshadow I need.
I can’t wait to see your ranking! In the last 3 years i collected all 10, being precisely nr. 4 the last one I tried. I must say I found it a really fun palette, but yeah, lacks the special shades.
Thanks for this Patty! It’s always so fun to hear you talk about your passion for PMG. Until recently, I had tried so many ways to love PMG but to no avail. I got the 2020 and 2021 Christmas palettes, both bridgerton palettes, the little voyager one, and even the full limited edition Divine Rose 2. Guided by your videos, I tried so much to love them but really never fell for them. The colors I found too saturated, the mattes a bit dry, the shimmers would crease, the looks were always sooo dramatic. So much so that I wasn’t even interested by Moonlight Seduction. But for some reason, that particular palette started to grow on me. The color story became irresistible. I was convinced I was setting myself up for another disappointment, especially since the UA-cam reviews weren’t that great- people said it was different. But oh boy have I ever been wrong… for the first time I totally get your passion for a PMG palette. I love moonlight seduction so much. Probably because it is different. The shades are so wearable and not too saturated for my fair skintone. As you would say, I’m obsessed! 😂
I like number 1 the best for the blue and smokey cool shades. I don’t have any Pat palettes but wanted to ask one for Christmas so this video came just in time!

Yes 🙌 love ranking videos, i only have 3 motherships, but no1 is Divine Rose, this was my first mothership and i absolutely love it. No2 is Midnight sun i love the colour story and No3 is moonlit seduction
Great review as always! I also agree with the Rephr brushes, Pat’s eyeshadow and many other high end eyeshadow just don’t work that well with synthetic brushes.. they should since their price.. but it’s just weird.. how high end eyeshadows match high end brushes. 😂
Mel Thompson done a video on how to blend Pat McGrath and in it she shows how the shades blend so differently with natural vs synthetic, and fluffy vs a more stiff brush. I know this is probably Taboo but give me a fluffy natural hair Morphe brush over a Sigma synthetic any day!! Stiff synthetic blenders don’t do Pat McGrath mattes any favors in my opinion.
Subversive is my absolute favorite palette! The blue 💙 especially. But I never wear the blue or the pink without covering my eyelid in either the black or (usually)brown shadow first and then topping it with the other. It makes the blue or pink POP so much more!!!

You confirmed to me that I'm not missing much by not having all of these, but you also confirmed that if I purchase another one (or two), Mothership 8 - DR II is the missing one for me and very possibly number 10 -Moonlit seduction (maybe I may reverse that order) due to the special blitz formulas, very beautiful and unique mattes (and somehow it give me the vibe of Subliminal only in warm tones, sort of a subtle, but extremely versatile palette). So, thanks a lot of helping me decide when next I can afford to go PML.
I have all 9 of them, besides the 4th generation.. but have a great substitute for it, it’s the vanity makeup signature.. same size and same gorgeousness

I did hear that complaint about that specific purple in the Bronze Seduction palette many times though and from many different people. I also read from some who said they reached out to PM about it and they sent them a replacement I believe, so apparently that in particular is a problematic shade. Regardless, you made it look stunning on your eyes!
In terms of colours I love the Moterhership Divine Rose II with all of the pinks and golds. However, I actually use the Divine Rose I more because in one way its quite versatile. 😅You can get very office-appropriate looks but also very nice evening party looks out of it.

I really love rephr, Wayne goss, nikkia joy and sonia g natural hair brushes. The Nikkia Joy ones aren't nearly as soft imo but they are really amazing for blending imo.
I love PMG, i own 5 of her Motherships, but for their price the shades ought to be easily blendable regardless of whatever brush you use. Sure, some shades are better picked up with a flat shader and others with a fluffy brush, so I dont think you need natural bristles so long as you know how to work with the eyeshadow/brush. I havent had difficulties with her eyeshadow and I use synthetic brushes.

I adore divine rose 2. I think if I had the hutopian whatever I'd like it more but I think it's my favorite in my collection. I really love bronze seduction I think it is, too. It's so so good imo.
I had the same experience with Pst McGrath V, I will say the first time I tried it with the morphe x jacklyn brushes which are natural brushes but they didn’t work well at all, but with rephr it works really well, so not any natural brush works.

La 4 5 y 6 no me acaban de gustar por suerte sino también las hubiera comprado , ya que es un placer maquillarse con estas paletas, desde que las probé ya no quiero otras.

Just started my Pat McGrath collection of the Mothership pallets. Don’t know what too me this long… I have the #5 both Rose pallets so far and her blushes & highlights …I really like the quality & color story she gives us… The compliments I get from her pallets .. what is your eyeshadow color? You should try "turbo pigments" from Glam shop from Poland. Much cheaper and amazing formula!

Just watching this video I would buy mothership 3. I have grey eyes and I think would look best. Last month or before I bought the celestial for $82. It was before she offered a discount and the day before Sephora launched it. I simply love it!! Wishing you did this video while Pat McGrath had her huge discount that just ended.
