This is a perfect way to point out we don’t know how to “people” anymore. The internet was supposed to help here but it seems it needs help. I am all about MOTO, SXS, Radio, shooting, making videos is fun, camping. I take this video and the information to heart here. I shall go forth and meet the people and begin to organize good times and fun with radio and fishing and ATVs…the things, all the things. We are here to pro create and help others. Go forth and be a helpful man.
Community sounds nice wish I was closer
Here's an idea: once Overton's Montana station is set up, we use the model for that community to start stations in other states/regions.
PA here right outside of Philly, NYC is about 2 hours away so in theory a station in my area could serve both metro areas.
I was desperately lacking a community for around the first 5 years of my 20's and that's a tough time for young men now. a close friend of mine invited me to a PRS intro match a few months ago and it got me hooked right away with the competition, reloading, improvement of skills, and all around great folks who are involved. I am glad to see someone taking initiative to their local outdoorsman together, it could very well pull some young men up from some low spots in life.
We (source one serenity) intend to do the same thing by purchasing an operational ranch. A place where veterans and their families can stay for a retreat, then offer courses to the public. We'll always have different skill sets available. You're on the right track, Brother.

@@OvertonWindex have you ever put together even allose organization or "community", or just larger-ish group of people? People in groups tend to behave like children and It is no easy task to get people on the same page, even getting them to meet at the same place same time will prove to be challenging. I think it's a great idea, if you can do it, do it more power to you.

This is literally all that I want. I live in deep Southern California and the closest public land is hours away 😢.
Here here. Community is so damn important. Especially for survival if the shite really does hit the fan. I have successfully got a group of 4-6 guys together every other week for about 2 years now. Training and having competition with one another has helped all of us grow more than anything else.
This may be your best video yet. I wish I lived near you.

Community is a huge need in our country, especially for guys, and serves a lot of useful purposes. Community can solve all sorts of problems.
Gangs are a big deal because kids don't have a group like this to be guided into adulthood by. Weirdos go unchecked because no one is looking out for them. People/families struggle when they don't necessarily need to. The list goes on and on... Community is vital, but missing in many places in our country.
If everybody I knew that was worried about "America falling apart" or civil war or whatever put that energy into connecting with and building their community, and remembering that we're all fucking human beings, we wouldn't have to worry about America falling apart or civil wars.
Who cares if you are Democrat or Republican, or whatever BS, made-up false binary people try to fit you into... just go out and rub elbows with some other people and make some healthy connections.
Part of the reason we don’t organise organically is because of our expectations around the appropriateness of that interaction.
You’re doing an awesome thing by inviting people with the expectation and allowing people to “Opt in” to being part of something greater.
Need to vet everyone to make sure they aren’t atf, irs, or gov period.

If you can get it going, do it. I hope it turns out well. In Florida, we had/have something like that here. Since JTAC Ranch shut down, it hasn't been the same. We would have swap meets once a year and sell any of our extra or unused gear. All we did was shoot competitively, whether individually or into teams for fun. Throw in a little e exercise like a sprint/relay. Fun workout but balanced with shooting. Not like tactical games, which are to focused on the crossfit and not the shooting aspect.
I participate in a yearly deal like this with buddies who I primarily hang out with online.

One of my local ranges has some sort of competition practice biweekly (uspsa/ipsc I don’t remember) but it’s open to whoever wants to show up. Might be worth checking out your ranges. Could be a good jumping off point.

Unfortunately I live in Illinois, where the whole state is segmented small plots of privately owned farm land and cities with nothing in between. Me and my friends make do but we have no land to practice on outside of an indoor range. With the lack of opportunity here nobody is motivated to take preparedness seriously.
I’m in GA so I won’t be able to participate, but I’ll consider doing something like this here

A fraternity. We could use one. Or more accurately, one that isn't co-opted from the top down by spooky and foreign interests - harder than it sounds. Been around a few communities and they all started strong and then fell apart due to really extreme infighting of one kind or another. At the core though, holy **** those groups have been a glimpse into what could be. Fully support this effort, but be mindful of common failure modes.
Can you elaborate on common failure modes? And on what the "really extreme infighting" was about, roughly?
@@allanliang2925 Extreme infighting would be i.e. disagreements being instigated and amplified to community fractures. Common failure modes include weaponized gossip and leaking, hacking, and other shenanigans from threat actors with motivations beyond money or making a statement or name.

I try to reach out to those I consider friends to see if they want to go shooting or really anything.and no one ever wants to. Weird thing is years after high school I reconnected with my old pot head friends and they’re down for anything 😂 some are still pot heads so I don’t really do the same activities but they’re chill af. I’ve come to the conclusion my “friends” just don’t like human interaction.
I'll travel up from oklahoma a few times for this when I can. Love to hear about like minded people but everything is privately owned down here and nobody has any shooting spots.
I tried to do this with some friends and people just seem unmotivated to get together and do it.I get life is busy but man so much wasted time and potential for fun.

Going to be a fairly local thing, really... it's tough to do more than a few hours drive unless you make a trip of it.
The powers that be, made it socially unacceptable for a true community to exist. Everyone today is fractured and soloed out. Don't be part of those who were divided and conquered. Make some IRL friends. Do some cool shit together. Together we are strong.
