I just sold my old PWS straight pull (total disaster, can't handle CCI stingers) l had an earlier Pulsar ir scope mounted on it.
Also had the rechargeable battery pack and video recorder.
I'm considering a thermal rifle scope after being dissatisfied with the Pulsar, it was very bleary at any setting at 100 meters and extreme flare up with anything between the target.
So l was interested to watch your video and the changes with this new model, l see the top buttons have been changed, thats an improvement, but no report on the settings knob or if it's been changed from right to left side.
This was a pain in the arse to say the least and most adjustment knobs were too tight and small for big fingers.
There are no comparison's to measure improvements from the old model, only someone that has owned the previous model can know the brain dead design faults the earlier models had can appreciate any significant changes, and l don't see many here.
And I'm not about to buy one just to find out.
So I've convinced myself to get a $4000 thermal without giving any brand name free advertising is not in my interest.
But I've researched them thoroughly and my local dealer has offered a weekend trial and given a lot of useful information so l can make an informed decision, there is no comparison between them.
I hunt with a monocular with head harnes and thermal scope on foot, mostly after feral cats, wallaby, possum's and rabbits between 100 and 200 metres.
I have upgraded to .17HMR and .22 precision rimfire, (you can guess the brand)
Thanks for uploading this video but please highlight comparison's, but l can understand why the sponsor wouldn't like you to show the faults of the previous models.
    Best regards.
From a 75 year young farmer and professional shooter with military marksman background.
    Nothing escapes

Hi Jim, thanks for the feedback, I haven’t seen or used the previous model, hence why there was no comparison, as you can see from my channel I’m a thermal user first and foremost and given that my targets are vermin like rabbits and foxes I will stay thermal. You will not regret the move to thermal, it’s an amazing device, all brands are going fairly strong and competition brings the price down! Check out my beginners video to buying a thermal, might find something useful in there. Good luck with the weekend trial, hope it works out for you!

Best of all, not made in China. Although, inevitably, there will be Chinese components.
Received mine yesterday, works really well. Top quality kit.

So will it give you a "hold over point" after you range something, similar to the Burris eliminator series?
    Because that would be fantastic.

Hey Tim, that would be fantastic, unfortunately it doesn’t yet!

I see there is a small weaver rail just under the factory fitted IR.
That will allow the fitting of an auxiliary IR torch.
In the UK they don't come with that little weaver mount. However the distributor will fit the rail for free if requested.
I'm not happy with an "aftermarket" retrofit and was wondering if yours was factory fitted by Pulsar.
    Or are they all retrofitted?

Thats interesting carlos, this one is straight out of the box with no mods so what you see is what it came with!

I would like to get a digital or smart scope for Elk hunting, not doing anything at night. Do they have something that fits that bill with out the night aspect?

If your only hunting during the day then check out the new Swarovski dS scopes, they are very cool
