The later years of Sun Quan were rarely depicted in the Three Kingdoms media. In contrast, Liu Bei and Cao Cao's final years were extensively featured.
Even though the Romance of The Three Kingdoms novel portrayed Sun Wu as two-timing backstabbers and very archetypal opportunity seekers, they are nonetheless the most neutral force in the game. This does not mean that their intentions are not as virtuous as Shu claims to be. They just wanted to live in a different kingdom away from the Han Dynasty's previous corrupt influence and live side by side with Shu and Wei, as they seek diplomacy rather than going to wars and annihilate rival kingdoms. Then again, if there is no Yangtze River that helped build that natural border surrounding these three kingdoms, I'll bet that Sun Quan would not have the desire for total conquest. Btw, when you mentioned his twilight years' deeds as the elder Emperor regarding his declining state and the aftermath leading to the Fall of Wu, it really makes me feel sorry for them that they are alone in the fight against the Wei/Jin forces later after Shu's surrendering. This also makes me want to see a video about Lu Xun, as he is the one that restarts the Shu/Wu alliance pact with Zhuge Liang later on after Shu's defeat at Yiling and Xiaoting and he is also one of the factors that triggered the fall of Wu.
sun Quan had, only focused on defending his land and his people.but cao cao and lui bei both tried to make all the entire land under their control.cao cao becouse of his greedy ambition.and lui bei by the name of saving the Emeraror and the dynasty of "Han".
A trivia, Sun Quan from young show great potential. He was described as someone who is closest among his family to be at Sun Tze's level. Of course, later on he performed exceptionally well managing Wu Kingdom, he never perform up to Sun Tze's level.
There's a funny story about him and Zhou Tai. Sun Quan sent Zhou Tai to command Ruxu but a lot of guys didn't like him particularly Xu Sheng and Zhu Ran. So to fix this, Sun Quan held a banquet for Zhou Tai to break the ice. It was going well until Sun Quan got really drunk. That's when he told Zhou Tai to strip naked so that he could show his scars. He then proceeds to tell stories for every each one of his scars to the guests. Suprisingly, the banquet worked and Zhou Tai was respected. Or maybe they just didn't want to risk seeing him bare naked again
These are always super informative and keeps me looking forward to the next one, not just because of the info but the music you use. If you need any more people to voice characters outside of who you have now, I can help you out, if you need me to give you some contact info or anything.
I never really liked playing as Wu. For me they always lacked the flair that Wei and Shu had. However the portrayal in DW always left me thinking that Sun Quan would be the most likely to have been a good ruler in peace.
I'm really liking those voiced quotes. Although, your own audio gets muffled or quiet at times. Perhaps rerecording those parts in future would be a good idea.
Nice video, I see you already did 2 from Wei and 2 from Wu, so I'm guessing the next one would be another character from Shu to not leave Zhao Yun alone. But would love to see more from the Sima family, since they are also game changers in the story. :x
If I'm going to be honest the main reason i didn't really like Sun Quan was because of the act of assisting Cao Cao in fan castle ok sure like drake said Guan Yu did take advantage of their fragile alliance but still Sun Quan should have know that Cao Cao wouldn't really live up to his side of the deal i mean heck Cao Cao knew that Lui Bie would attack Sun Quan and if Cao Cao didn't die from his illness and waited until the battle was over he probably would have attacked Sun Quan pretty quick
@@alandunaway3000 you're welcome, but i'll have to remind you a warning that it's an insane and frustrating game far more convuluted than dissidia, particularly in the item mechanics and character build up that until now i totally hate so much, but you can go ahead and check it out for yourself and maybe it's just me who just don't like the game at all
@@alandunaway3000 you can first atleast take a look on some gameplay videos of it here on UA-cam to get little glimpse on it before you can even get your hands on the game but don't get me wrong man, i also kinda liked dissidia until now the fact is my favorite character in dissidia is always Shantotto simply because leveling her is always exciting you get a chance to obtain new abilities almost every time she levels up since i'm a RPG player myself so obtaining new abilities as you level up a character is very satisfying but in dynasty warriors strikeforce it's different, it's like the level doesn't even matter and everything's too fast like everybody is everywhere flying around doing a lot of things that you can't clearly see and i'll just end here so that i won't spoil you of the uniqueness of the game, like i said you can go ahead check it out
IMO Sun Ce was the better general but Quan was better at managing his territory.

Because Sun Quan's later life happenes when 3K narrative became quite boring. It was after the Wuzhang campaign
This needs to be more popular.
Wu was just screwed after Sun Ce
Big thanks to +JelloApocalypse for his role as Cao Pi and +SgtMarcReynol as Gongsun Yuan
No problem at all. As usual, if you need a voice, I'm here and always looking for work.
DrakeVagabond Gongsun Yuan sounded like a playable holy fuck

Sun Quan, commander and 1st emperor of Wu.

That's the new mic was for. I speak more clearly, but now volume is an issue. I just need to work shop that.
Awesome as always.
omg DW9 characters looks wonderful
Love this vids , they are pretty informative.
:)
love your dynasty warriors analysis videos. would love to see faction analysis videos too.
This officer bows before the might of the Sun family.
Sun Quan may be my favorite male character in DW.

You should do a Zhang Liao analysis.
So none of the sun family was able to reach or inherit the mind of sun tzu well that's a shame they were destined to fall
I like these! can you combine Da qiao and Sun Ce!
the throne of wu was cursed after Sun Quan died. really how many did they go through?
Do one of the Sima or Ma Chao

Tiger! Tiger Uppercut!
Is that a Dissidia-like Dynasty Warriors game at 6:14? What is its name?
Dynasty warriors strikeforce
