Your videos are terribly underviewed, you deserve more man. Production values are great, and I love learning more about the historical side of my favorite characters.
you drunk? may those 1m ppl who purchase TK TW in just 1 week come to see this, then see how overwhelmed exciting ppl w/ blazing nostalgic soul deep in their heart to see they remember No.1 Shu-Han ruler
Watching this video, Liu Bei does sound like a nice person. He managed to have many good relations with people, forming friendships and comradaries. This is not to say however that he is more moral than the others; he's not. He's just well-mannered and charismatic is all I'm saying.
2:20 he actually went to fight yuan shu by an imperial edict made by cao cao who at the moment held the emperor and was already prime minister...overall great video man! (yes i read the romance of the three kingdoms)
I think why not a lot of people connect with Liu Bei is because he's too nice. Cao Cao is strict and smart. Sun Quan goes through a lot more hardships but deals with it better. Liu Bei is just meh. He's a nice guy but at Yiling when he's not caring about the people thats really when I started to dislike him.
farizdanialz From DW point: As Shu and Wu was fighting against Wei, during the Jing Province Campaign; Guan Yu was set to capture Fan Castle but Wu defected against Shu to kill Guan Yu. Upon hearing the news of Guan Yu's death, icing on top of the cake: Zhang Fei was murdered by traitors that defected to Wu. So Liu Bei was super angry and fought Wu in Battle at Yiling.
It was a pretty understandable moment as Liu Bei lost two of his sworn brothers, and it caused a literal mental breakdown, causing him to tunnel vision. I can relate Liu Bei's actions at Yiling to anyone as a kind and compassionate person whose family were killed with cold blood for no apparent reason.
I was under the impression the oath was jsut a romanticisation of them being close. Also, now that you've got Mr Mitchell as a contact, you can get a few lines from him for Guan Yu and Toshiie. Kiyomori too, if you ever wanted to cover Orochi characters. I'm fairly sure he was all of them.
While this is a cool analysis, it did not mention just how duplicitous Liu Bei was. He went back on his word constantly, breaking alliances before the ink could even dry. He's white washed to be the hero and I don't like that. To me, it makes Liu Bei flat and uninteresting. I personally describe Liu Bei as a well-intentioned, but inherently selfish man who knew how to pander to the people. He has good intentions, but his own personal ambitions drive him. After all, he named his kingdom Shu "Han," using his dubious ties to the Han Dynasty to claim legitimacy.
Nope, not Arch-lich. I'm just someone who dislikes how Liu Bei is white-washed when he compulsively lied and betrayed others to get to where he is. Shu in general is white-washed in RotTK, even the abduction of Xiahou Yuan's niece is treated as something "tasteful" when it isn't. But that's another discussion entirely. Liu Bei is even responsible for the deaths of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei because he didn't keep his word and give back Jing to Wu. That is not heroic to me.
Feel like featuring *Sima Yi* next? (possibly with special voice-actor guest, Kyle Hebert?) Heck, I'd even be happy if you attempted a video on Zhu Huan. ("Xtra Warriors")
DrakeVagabond man how can you make such a amazing character analysis not only because your detail in weapons, his theme (dragon), also using real voice mail to speak the lines is awesome, how can you do that???
Lord Liu Bei started from the bottom and rose to the top. With the help of his sworn brothers and great friends. He is a lord even I would definitely serve. He gained a land of his own and after everything... his son Liu Shan pretty much destroyed the Kingdom of Shu. That pissed me off! I really thought that Liu Shan would make Shu alot better for the sake of his father... Liu Bei had lost his since of benevolence and virtue for a time when Guan Yu and Zhang Fei were killed. However, I did understand how he felt.
I think Dynasty Warriors 4 was the best game in the series and Liu Bei was the best in that one imo. The coolets costume and moveset like most characters I find. I just didn't like him at all in 6 7 and 8. I mean he really did have the twin swords but just I don't know. I feel the series has gone downhill since 6 and just don't care for the way so many character designs and the combat and all that has changed.
@@TranslatedAssumption That was after Fan Castle. Zhao Yun and ZGL convinced him to focus on Wei and Cao Pi. However, Zhang Fei barged in and told him to fight Wu. Zhang Fei's abusive behaviour led to his assassination and we all know the rest.
Good presentation but it's far away from real history but just game info that nearly everyone knows. In reality he isn't goodie goodie but landlord who just says things makes people to follow him. I wish you researched more and put some huge true facts
Wait wait wait wait wait wait!!!!!! Sooo liu bei has a wife that he abandoned in changban but were rescued by zhaoyun? And then he proceed to marry sun shang xiang??????????? Now this is not benevolence liubei!!!!!
Liu bei abandoned his wife to protect his people. After zhao yun storming thousands of elit armies of cao cao to save liu bei's son, liu bei instead throw away his son into ground, telling that he should have lost his son than lost his loyal general. Liu bei married sun shang xiang for peaceful alliances of shu-wu, and wu paid alliance with death of guan yu for the sake of ambition.
Liu Bei was a horrible family man, but that was due to the intolerant mindset back then, because wives and kids were viewed as properties and yet parents and elder relatives should be treated with respect.
I respect liu bei but i dont like him too me he was just another tricking backstabbing liar who just so happens to be a kind guy. the only thing he did right was get the people to safety was willing to give his throne to a capbale ruler if his son did not prove himself.
Liu Bei, warlord of Han Dynasty, founder and first emperor of Shu.
Your videos are terribly underviewed, you deserve more man. Production values are great, and I love learning more about the historical side of my favorite characters.

Liu Bei start shoes peddler, then he became emperor. Not bad, I would say.
Zhang Fei was a butcher and Guan Yu a guardsman. They all came a long way before their ends.
Watching this video, Liu Bei does sound like a nice person. He managed to have many good relations with people, forming friendships and comradaries. This is not to say however that he is more moral than the others; he's not. He's just well-mannered and charismatic is all I'm saying.
By selling
Shus
You useless emperor
Zhou Yu do you like zhou yu
Sometimes, you amaze me when you get the actual voice actors for the characters, and I mean that in a good way.
Those who stand against virtue shall fail.
Liu Bei For Life
Did Dave B. Mitchell seriously voice Liu Bei here?! If so, that's truly amazing!

can i know what happen at Yiling?

PRINGLES ! I relate with Liu bei a lot actually and I feel he so underrated and under appreciated
Yeah, I relate to him as well, his benevolence resonates with me a lot.
Now I understand why he called his kingdom Shu.
why Shu?
Because Liu Bei used to sell shoes.
ahaha nice pun jokees
@@Hilversumborn you waited one year for say it?? Man 😂😂😂

Historically yes. But this series is base on the fiction of this era. the Romanticized version of Liu Bei is a hero of virtue.
Arch-lich?

He gave them back th Eastern portion of Jing.
That's like stealing someone's hamburger and then only giving them back a bite. That's like getting the middle finger.
I prefer the facial hair models.
Big thank you to my special guest for doing the voice of this historical figure
Damn, the fact that you get the actual VA is amazing
Feel like featuring *Sima Yi* next? (possibly with special voice-actor guest, Kyle Hebert?)

I never seen you convince Dave to voice his character for you this before.I like it.Good Job.

DrakeVagabond I really like the way you also explain the reason behind his weapons name, armor, and dragon theme
I miss the Liu Bei from DW5.
4:48 fail! you forgot to mention Zhao Yun as one of the generals he gave a title too.
I read that Zhao Yun was not given a title and only received one after his death.
@@Hektols historically yeah but novel wise he's a tiger general.
So... he has the moral high ground despite having served and betrayed both Wei and Wu
Liu Bei, founder and first emperor of Shu.
He is My former lord he is kind and very benevolent of all anyone hate Liu Bei I smite his soul to oblivion :))
Liu Bei sold Shus
Then he became the Emperor of Shu
THEY GAVE LIU BEI HIS SEXY ASS MUSTACHE BACK IM GONNA!!!!
Make Sima Yi next, considering how you already made all three of the original rulers of the kingdoms. Pretty please.
I second this.

I'm so confused a youtuber said LuiBei wasnt selling shoes lol
Reminds me of Mitsuhide Akechi
If not for Yiling loss, I would have respected Liu Bei a lot more
please Do ZHANG LIAO

I wonder what happened to Lady Sun after Liu Bei got betrayed by Wu... Did he divorce her? Someone tell me!
It looks like she drowned herself after he died.
Do one for lubu
He actually has the blood of the emperors in han dynasty lmao
um you got the tiger generals wrong zhou yun was also one and fa zheng was not
I, Liu Bei, have a dream
Liu Bei is the MLK of Dynasty Warriors
No, he was a warmonger.

Whats the clip at 7:10 from??
It actually the voice actor of the character Dave B Mitchell
As i can see it is from Dynasty warriors Online
He's way too nice of a guy but he did betray a lot of people. Though but his son takes the Cake of being a coward all that hard work for nothing
I would join lord LuiBei

Well all the character in dw is really exist search it
You don't say
Ermmm Theirs a history record of Han dynasty 1,000 years ago I'm half chinese so i know that
Oh they all exist except Guan suo and bao sanniang because they didin't see them in history records
I should make a series of videos explaining that
Erm
So we gonna ignore the fact Liu Bei threw his son on the ground for Zhou Yun?
Garnet Black Queen It's messed up, but during that time a great warrior like Zhao Yun comes rarely. Children like Liu Chan can be born at anytime.
Liu Bei never throw his son into the ground though. That was a fictional scene in ROTK because of Luo Guanzhong's enormous disdain for Liu Shan.
Liu bei lame asl he got guan yu killed
nah, cao cao still wins in reality
Cao Cao didn’t “win” anything. He failed to defeat Wu and Shu and then his kingdom got taken over by Sima Yi.
I respect liu bei but i dont like him too me he was just another tricking backstabbing liar who just so happens to be a kind guy. the only thing he did right was get the people to safety was willing to give his throne to a capbale ruler if his son did not prove himself.
Liu Bei, greatest hypocrite of the Three Kingdoms period.
Cao Cao is the greatest hypocrite. Claims he wants to end the chaos while committing genocides and slaughtering the emperor’s relatives.

So many mispronounced names 😂 great video though
