I love the portability of my iPhone on my gimbal, I’ve been working with that for years and recently with the DJI Mic attached, but it’s been time to upgrade the quality of my images. So this weekend I finally got the FX30 with a 15mm f1.4 prime lens! Can’t wait to start using this setup; it’ll still be portable! I had been saving for a new M1 Mac Studio but later decided upgrading to better image quality is more important right now.
@@zentai5076i would say that the mac studio or m2 mac mini is a better option for the money if all you are using it for is video editing... if you want to game then build a pc but apples vertically integrated processors are powerful and more reliable now
Considering your working with footage from an iPhone, If the main reason your getting a Mac Studio is editing that content then you probably be pretty well off with an m2 mini, of course I have no doubt you've done your research and know what best for you.

This video is the perfect crash course on modern cameras... when I first got into photography I was shocked to learn good lenses could easily cost 3x the price of your camera body! I sold all my equipment since I no longer shoot weddings and iPhone Pro is more than good enough for me these days!
Sigma pretty much already achieved almost perfect clinical clean image quality, Zeiss which costs loads of money have rather imperfect image quality hence why people like using them.

I think a Fujifilm X-T4 is a great pick too, at around 1,200 used. 4k60 Internal, HD240 for super slow mo (although the 120 looks a little better) 4:2:2 external, IBIS, a good selection of beautiful prime lenses, great color science, and also great at taking photos with beautiful JPegs. Autofocus isn't excellent, but people that REALLY want to become film makers should learn to manual focusing anyways, unless you're just trying to shoot weddings or certain unplanned events where it's hard to dial in focus. In those cases I think auto focus is more important.
@@ericcoen8894 well, that’s 1,000 more. At that price point I’d probably move over to a S5II or something else full frame. This is if I was starting out fresh. I’m already invested in Fuji and i enjoy it, so it I’m gonna upgrade I’ll get the XH2S.
Have to look at the overall system ecosystem, not only the camera. Want AF? Linear motors are a big step up from other options. Silent power zoom is a big plus for anyone who doesn't have or want a full rig.

Literally the GH5 image still continues to blow my mind. I just shot a short film with various native lenses at 10bit 422 internal and the image is so cinematic it’s insane. I’ve had it since 2017 and have been wanting to upgrade bc new toys are fun. But there is literally nooooo reason for me to upgrade for a while as most of the content I create is for the internet
same its my first camera and only one so far. but seeing all these new cameras like s5ii, zve10, r8, fx30 and stuff makes me want them so bad. but deep down inside i know the gh5 is more than enough if you know how to use it. but i want it handed easy to me with the good autofocus, lowlight (even tho i dont need it) but i need it

GH5 owner here. As old as that camera is today, nothing from other brands have come close to its IBIS. I love it. I’m looking into Sony bodies now because I need better low light capabilities and autofocus.
I bought a used Sony FX6 from a buddy for $3,500. It wasn't my original choice. But I weighed out all of my options like this wonderful video... I love my Sony G 24-70mm and the Catalyst gyro stabilization. It just feels right for now. Yum yum yummmm.

The more 'incidental' you can make the background appear the less distracting it is. Currently here your desk is on a slight angle to the window which is unusual arrangement for furniture in a room with a window.

Really love the X-H2S for video, it might be cropped sensor but love the image out of it and has a great range of formats and codecs. As well as 6k ProRes internally
Any camera above $1000 will do well. What Gene didn't mention was STORY. A great story is so much more important than gear. 'Casablanca' was shot on 16mm black and white.
Casablanca was shot on 35mm. but yea point remains... story is king. a great story, coupled with amazing actors, and then third good audio.... the image can come fourth after that... haha. but honestly 35mm neg still rivals all these digital cams to this day. @@scottslotterbeck3796

When I quit drinking I drank a TON of fizzy water. I'd recommend a soda stream but instead of getting their CO2 bottles get an adapter on Amazon for a regular CO2 bottle that you can get at a brewing supply store. Higher cost up front but it pays for itself FAST. Now I only refill once every few months for $13 for a 5lb bottle instead of $15 for like a 20oz bottle.

I recommend cutting your sparkling water with regular water, and using packets instead of flavored sparkling water. It's WAY cheaper, and cuts back on the gas. I do 1 Can, 2 flavor packs, and the rest ice and water in a 20 oz. glass.
Dont forget there are good camcorders out there that do a great job and are a good all in one solution. I have a Sony AX-700 and it pairs with my A6600 very well for the videos I make.
Great work on the video and the weight. Suggestion: Run at 5.5 mph on a treadmill for 1 to 2 hours a day, listen to podcasts or watch a movie every run. I lost 15 lbs in like three months. Be sure to use Vaseline in your under area tho on those long runs. The rash is really bad otherwise. You got this!

I got myself the Sony ZV-E10 to start my YT channel. It has S-Log, E-Mount lenses and is made for filming. And it's cheap, under 700 USD, lens included. This in combination with my iPhone 11 and the Rode Wireless Go 2 should be enough for the first few years of youtubing...
I just love how much fun it is just watching your videos. I love how fast you talk. Gets me giggling everytime. I use the Samsung galaxy S23 ultra (along with the hohem isteady 6 gimbal) and specifically got it because of the camera. I get superb quality videos and photos. I however would've loved to get a traditional camera. My fear here is, I can't go above £1000 for the camera and lens (and needed any accessories). It would really suck to get a camera who's quality is less than that of my phone. I felt that way when I got the GoPro hero 10 and only kept it because of its durability and stabilization with good lighting. What do you think?
I liked the "original location" of your set. It was so clean and natural, I don't think long focal range you used there made it look worse. However the set is the best I ever seen from any angle
I would have liked to see my favorite camera, the DJI Pocket 2 mentioned. It shoots a stabilized 4k video and is a LOT cheaper than flagship phones with comparable stabilized video. There are surely others like me, who just want a camera to shoot videos of my family for personal use without too much of a hassle, in which case Pocket 2 is the best choice in my opinion.

Well there reason why Zeiss uses as few lens elements as possible, its not to make perfect images, its to get a "look"

It would really suck to get a camera who's quality is less than that of my phone. I felt that way when I got the GoPro hero 10 and only kept it because of its durability and stabilization with good lighting. What do you think?

I liked the "original location" of your set. It was so clean and natural, I don't think long focal range you used there made it look worse. However the set is the best I ever seen from any angle

I would have liked to see my favorite camera, the DJI Pocket 2 mentioned. It shoots a stabilized 4k video and is a LOT cheaper than flagship phones with comparable stabilized video. There are surely others like me, who just want a camera to shoot videos of my family for personal use without too much of a hassle, in which case Pocket 2 is the best choice in my opinion.
