For me the best optic is the one that is coolest and makes me want to get out and shoot with it lol. This nightforce definitely fits the bill. Very cool optic.
American Defense Manufacturing my dude. Specifically the DELTA models. You can add a 7 slot dive-board rail to any set of DELTA mounts (they only have 2). Just bought one, gonna buy like...2 more. ADM has a life long fan/consumer with me. Absolutely love their offerings in mounts and recievers. Happy shooting bro!😎👍
Hey brother would love to see in depth comparison between the night force 2-20 and the leupold mk5 3-18. Love the lightness of the leupold but would think your comparison of the 2 would be beneficial for.many in the market for spr scope. Thanks brother and keep.putting out great content. If you see my comment twice it disappeared after first time i sent dunno
I have the Mil-Xt in a NF ATACR 7-35x56. It's awesome and i've made some amazing shots with it. That said, i prefer the H59 reticle. There are more points of reference on the reticle, being more fine lines that you need for holdovers. If you're impacting in an "open space" in the reticle, your holds are more or less "GUESSES". For me the Mil-Xt is an awesome reticle but the best is H59 for long range shooting because of those fine lines and more "reference points" for holdovers.
how is that optic at 10-12 power ? can you see the reticle well ? Is it usable at 8x-12x ? Sounds like this would be really nice on a 6mm Arc 18"-20" fighting rifle with max distances out to about 1,250 yds roughly.
I have the same issue with the diopter loosening on my March 1.5-15 when using the triggercam. I started mounting the camera sideways so the weight of the camera keeps the diopter tight.
gotta say, you spent a lot more money for a lesser optic. ive had them out in classes. not impressed with them and they caused problems for my shooters. glad you go the money for it! lol the glass quality is legit af though.
Im probably a lucky one but no one single issue after thousands of rounds and abuse…. At the end is all about preferences, but I think that when it comes to build quality and glass S&B is superior to NF. Great videos by the way… recently subscribed, I really appreciated how much work you put in your videos. Keep it up 👍
@@WeaponSnatcher That's disappointing to hear. What did you not like about them? I know the 1-10 shorty sacrifices a little on the eyebox and image quality for the short length.
@@GldenRetriever they have the same issues as their 1-10. I like the innovation manufacturers are pushing with these high magnification ranges, but a 10x erector is inherently unforgiving. Yeah, some are better than others, but an 8x like the NX8 compared to a 10x of the same quality, the 10x WILL BE less forgiving. But if you bump that 1.5 minimum to 2 and change from 10x down to an 8x, you'll have a 2-16 vs a 1.5-15. is that .5 less magnification on the low end really worth the ease of getting behind the optic? Personally I don't think so. They are some sweet looking optics though and they will one day have a less compromised optic available; I can feel it.
@@AntiATF 1.5x vs 2x is a noticeable amount. Much more than 8x vs 10x. Starting at a 50% increase off 1x, it makes the 10x feel like a 6x in a 1-10 in regards to eyebox. Even if you don't use the 15x for shooting, it makes everything else below it, that much better. That and losing the 1x gives you so many benefits like having a larger objective lens, which increases the exit pupil greatly. That and with the march, it weighs less and is shorter than some LPVOs like the trijicon credo 1-8. So in giving up the 1x (which for my eyes, it's almost unnoticeable), I am gaining a better experience with magnification.
I know there is a reason a lot of people run NF, I would love to try one, but they are so expensive. Maybe someday. The reticle is really nice though especially for long range.
I believe NF makes the highest profit margins on any of the scopes made by Light Optical Works and branded/resold by a third party. I went with a Leupold Mark 5HD, and I can't imagine anyone could be happier with an NX8. That's probably not a fair comparison, though. An ATACR would be a more apples-to-apples comparison.
wonder how many times rounds missed there mark and shot a vehicle in traffic in the background?🤔 but yea, Nightforce makes the most bombproof optics out there but not the best. i think March holds that spot.
Nightforce isn’t really the best glass, but it’s the probably the best glass you can get while being super durable and holding up to drops and such. Schmidt probably makes the best glass period though
Hey pal, Seattle homie here and I love your videos. I'm just now getting into anything long range and have a new Stag AR10 in 308. Would this optic be a good addition for that weapon or go for a cheaper alternative?
Disagree, definitely not the best optic for the money. Athlon which is also a great company has an optic 8-36x56 FFP Mil dot also illuminated, multi coated, fog, proof, and waterproof retails for $429 for right now you can get it cheaper with a coupon right at the moment Not too discrete your video. its definitely a nice scope, but definitely not best scope for the money
Not once did I say best scope for the money. I never came close to saying that. Also, the mag range your speaking about is far to much for spr. Plus, Athlon has a lot left to be desired. So, next time make sure to listen to the words I used instead of putting them in my mouth. Not trying to be hostile. But mis quoting me and then disagreeing with that misquote is your error and has nothing to do with me.
That's a bad comparison. It's not just the high-end of the magnification range, but the low end is important, too. Especially, for these type of guns that can be used closer up. The closest Athlon is probably the 2.5-15x Ares BTR. But it's not getting that extra magnification the Nightforce is getting. The Athlon is probably good enough for those on a budget....but it's not a Nightforce.
👎nightforce. I own 1 NF. I own 15 Leupold Scopes n dots. Leupold has always given a discount on price for hunting guides. 50% off MSRP on anything Leupold with glass in it. 60% off MSRP anything else Leupold. I started using their professional discounts in 2000. Nightforce laughed at me when I asked if they gave licensed hunting guides any discount. Soo.... NF can sit n spin. Heavy AF as well. Gotta pay to fix their warrantied scope so the scope I own sits in the safe damaged and ashamed. 🇺🇲 🚫🐑
so, you got upset they didn't make you feel special to save money and you decided everything about them is awful? if we all thought like that, we would probably still be hunter gatherers.
I understand dude. But.... my NF ATACR is fucking amazing. .... i still don't like those aspects of their company though. But NF isn't Leupold or Vortex.

Putting this on my 6 arc build. Match made in heaven
go through my links man.
Got the same thing in Tremor3. It slaps!
And as always, another great video. Especially the info at the end.
Glad you liked it!
I put electrical tape on the locking ring to keep it from unlocking. Works perfectly.
Why have I not thought of this? lol
electrical tape fixes so much. i keep some in my kit and range kit.
Boom bebé! Yup! Love this scope and the hate on it has been frustrating the last several years. I love that scope
I just got this exact optic and currently have it on my 18", it's pretty fantastic.

I've been using Sig Tango 6 4-16 with the DEV-L reticle. Not only on my gass guns but my bolt gun's as well.

You need a high rise optic mount to get above turret anyway so the sharp rise isn’t a problem

I get this optic in the mail tomorrow. Will the geissele mount with a reptilia red dot adapter clear the front bell housing
idk man, havent tried it on that mount myself.
couldn't agree more on this optic. i run it with an 18" AR for PRS style matches. wish i was a better shooter to appreciate it more haha

Been using a us optics sn3 3.2-17x44 with an og gap reticle haha...no horus h58/h59 ..just mrad cross hair .. keeping it old school and uncluttered 😊
Have you had anytime between the march 1.5-15? Seems like an awesome concept especially with the dual focal plane reticle and lightweight footprint.

Nitrogen is put inside the scope because it is an inert gas and wont expand and contract almost at all
False. It does al expand and contract, just less than other gasses. However it still does. And it isn't used just for its stability.
