Thanks John, I just ordered a SlowStar juicer from you. Been watching your Growing Your Greens channel and now your juicer channel. Well done, keep up the amazing work!
John! You're amazing! LOL every time I'm searching for something....there your are! Thank you so much for the detailed information...I appreciate you!
I just wanted to say you're reviews are so thorough. When I am looking to upgrade my juicer I will be buying one from you. I am pretty impressed with the Omega. When my vert dies then I will probably move into the VSJ
Thank you so much for another juice off. Even if I have yet another omega juicer, I enjoy your videos so much! It would be very interesting to see a comparison between the nc800 and the new vsj omega juicer. :)
Thanks. Now I know what to choose. Would never stand the many stops with the omega. So Slowstar it will be. I like the mince thing also. Would like a more pulp free juice with dryer waste, but not all the stops that makes you reverse the motor to go on. Uh.
Thanks John for another thorough video! Question (1) How do these machines do with pomegranates and Question (2) can you make peanut butter and hummus in the Slowstar
Your videos are amazing.. very helpful. I just have one question. I already have heavy duty kitchen aid , they have attachment the slow juicer, how would that be against these real juicers? Kitchen aid juicer looks very similar!
I'm planning to buy tristar or kuvings whole vertical juicer and I will mainly juice combination of greens and fruits. I like kuvings wide shoot but based in your video the juice is very pulpy. What's your advise
Hi John. know I need to rotate hard vegetables with soft ones to push the produce through and make it more effective. What would you recommend besides carrots and beets? They can have quite a bit of sugar and I don't want to juice them all the time. Thanks
Your videos are very informative and packed with useful tips! Thank you for taking the time to educate us! Can you please recommend a juicer for coconuts.
I want to extract the juice/milk from the meat of a dry coconut.
For extracting the coconut "creme" from the mature meat only, I would use the Omega 8006/8004. For making coconut milk, with blended mature meat with coconut water, I would use the Omega VRT.
Hi John, I want to congratulate you on your videos are the best! I want to buy a juicer for garlic, lemon, onions and pineapple. I want to let me good nutrients and does not bind, please, what can you recommend me? Kind Regards !
How would you compare the pulp on the VSJ843 vs. the 8006?
awesome vid as usual
My Omega broke down and it took them 2 months to fix and finally get it back to me. Buying a back up juicer is what I need to do now. What's a good economical choice if this happens again? Just to hold me over.
Dear John,
How will you rate Omega VSJ843 vs Omega VRT402?
On a side note, does the VS843 come with a HD UItem juicing screen?
Thanks for your inputs. :)
Sugar isnt one thing. Plant sugar is used in the body differently than refined sugar or fructose corn syrup
Awesome video can you clean the kuvings whole the same way with the water, Are you going to compare the two
Yes, you can clean it the same way, but its not as effective. Stay tuned. Will compare the two soon.
Thank's for another great video.I'm just curious who makes the new tech for the Omega VSJ 843.I was doing some research and found out that the new Hurom HH elite has the exact same Auger/screen coupling and both turn at 43 rpms. The only difference is the Hurom has an adjustable lever for pulp extraction.Does Hurom make this unit? or does Omega pay for the patent.Just trying to purchase a juicer for just juice and only juice. Both leafy greens/vegetables and fruits.
The Omega VSJ843 and Hurom are made in the SAME factory in Korea. I do NOT recommend the Hurom juicer due to the SHORT warranty, and company is based in Korea, and does not have a history in the USA. In addition, warranty of the Hurom in the USA is outsourced. The Omega model has a 7.5x LONGER warranty, and Omega has a PROVEN track record and a USA based company to support warranty.
Dont forget the taste test! Curious to see if the new omega past fine particles through that strainer, as oppose to the slowstar that may have caught the bigger pulp in that strainer, resulting in such a larger amount of pulp appearing...
Taste was similar in both machines.
I was quickly sold on the Omega VSJ 843 until I saw the juice-off with the Tribest slowstar with carrots. What concerns me is the frequent stoppages. Have you juiced other things yet? If so have you haad the same problem. Do you feel this could be something to consider and be a real negative for the VSJ 843?
I have juiced many other things in the VSJ and it hasnt caused stoppages. The stopages are not necessarily a problem, just an annoyance. The solutions are: choose thinner diameter carrots or cut them lengthwise. Otherwise go for the slowstar that doesn't stop up.
This new Omega looks like the perfect vertical auger juicer except for the frequent carrot jamming. That is worrisome to me. Maybe it needs a larger motor.
Wonder if it would do better with baby carrots.
Hi John, are the parts from this juicer dishwasher safe???
In general, I do not recommend dishwashing the juicer parts, it may lead to premature breakdown of the parts.
My VSJ was stopping about 1 out of every 3-4 carrots, am I doing something wrong? =[ Didn't have any clogs I think, just fed them one at a time, then seemed ok after I reverse and turn on again, but mine sounded like it was having a tough time turning the auger against the carrot.
i'll try chopping them up next time.
It is important to cut carrots lengthwise in the VSJ, as it does not quite have as much torque as other model vertical juicers.
Hello John. Will you please let me know the difference between this Omega VSJ843 and Omega VSJ43QS? Thank you very much! Looking forward to hearing from you soon. I have the OmegaVRT350 now and these new models seem to do leafy greens better and has easier cleanup.
they are identical. ONLY the shape of the housing is different. If you have the VRT350 dont get the VSJ843, they are fairly similar.
Which would you choose, the VSJ843 or the OmegaNC800? I would love a response please. :) Thanks! I'm trying to make a decision soon. I see that a comparison is on your to do list, but I don't know if I can wait that long. :)
Depends on what I was juicing. If juicing mostly leafy greens, sprouts and wheatgrass, the NC800. If I was juicing a little of everything then the VSJ843. Each model has its own set of pros and cons.
John, You did not declare the winner :). Since you did not declare, let me declare that Omega VSJ43Q is the winner. By grinding pulp very well, it adds more nutrients. Further the juice output is high by 15%. Omega also provides better customer service than Tribest. Other new model Omega VSJ43R also reminds me Sharp Healsio or Expresso Juicer, which is having the same specifications. Please let me know your comments
Each of these two machines have their pros and cons. In this Juice Off for yield, I would declare the VSJ the winner, as it produced more juice with less pulp in the juice, which is something many customers have asked for. That being said, the Slowstar also has its advantages: not stopping during juicing and the mincing/homogenizing attachment... Wish the VSJ came with a mincer/homogenizing attachment..
DiscountJuicers.com Thank you, John. I am eagerly waiting for the juice off between NC800 and VSJ 843.
DiscountJuicers.com John, do you believe Omega will release an attachment for this product. Didn't they do the same for the VS400?
Witcherworks at this time, there are NO attachments for the VRT or VSJ models.
Odd calling the omega a knockoff when they were the ones that came out with the vertical auger style juicer and everyone else jumped on the wagon
Is spinach okay to juice?
I personally juice spinach in my juices, and believe my health to be improved because of it, as well as all the other leafy green vegetables I juice.
awesome vid as usual
