Aloha John! Thanks for the juicing tips link. It's great to know that the Omega VSJ 843 is your favorite vertical juicer as that is the one that I just ordered from you because with all the experience you have with juicers/juicing I know I'll be happy with this juicer as well!
Aloha John! Just wanted to send you an update! I received the Omega VSJ843 that I ordered from you in perfect condition and today was my 2nd time making a green based juice that was awesome! Although I am on a very limited fixed income and this was the most expensive kitchen appliance I have ever had...., I am so happy I purchased it! It is a well made quality juicer that I look forward to using it daily! Thank you for all your work and time on your very informative messages and know that if it wasn't for you I would have never purchased another juicer after my past bad experiences with the cheap juicers sold in stores. Keep up the good work as it does make a difference in peoples lives that are ready to hear what you have to say! :-)
John, instead of using a butter knife, use the brush handle that comes with VSJ843which is a flat tip edge made to do this task. I use it when I clean it
John I absolutely love watching your very informative video's, keep up the awesome work :0) I've been in the market for a awhile now and its been completely overwhelming. Thank you John!! You just sold me on Omega VSJ843. I'm so super excited to order from you :0) I'm completely new to juicing and wanted to ask you ? Have you written a juicing recipe book? Or could you please point me in the right direction? Its overwhelming the amount of juicing books out there but who knows if you can even trust any of them?
John, for the bonus tip: switch to another container to catch the water (tip machine forward to get all of the water out), then put original juice container back in place and continue juicing. This will allow for cleaning of the machine in the midst of juicing without diluting your juice with water.
Hi John, you doing a great job we do appreciate it, thanks. However I do have a situation and need a little advice. I recently bought a omega juicer like the one in this video and am using it to juice coconut milk but the juicer seems to stick very often and in juicing the machine stick so much that one of the auger arm break off and the machine ain't even a month old yet
Its important to make coconut milk the way I show in the video ua-cam.com/video/5j2Z_CD9-_I/v-deo.html where I use a blender first to process the coconut with water before running thru the juicer. to ensure the easiest time on the juicer.
Hi John, is it possible to use a second generation screen with a first generation juicer? I have a vrt350 and my only real qualm with it is the small hole where the pulp comes out. Even if I take care to cut up things like celery and greens into small pieces, it gets pretty jammed up if i'm juicing more than a quart or so at a time.
Correct, on the C7000, the leaking on the machine is lessened, but the clogging can happen more. In general, if using the juicer as I explain in this video, the leaking will be less overall. Leaking is really bad when there is too much backpressure (pulp) stuck in the machine and it cant get out. Leaks then happen more.
After watching a lot of videos (mostly yours) I bought a Kuvings c9500 (can't figure out how it is different from c7000) a couple of weeks ago and I am super happy. Never had a clogging nor leaking issues and I am juicing A LOT. About your tip #9 I am using a wooden chopstick for that. In the Kuvings there is no risk of getting the chopstick to deep so I don't even turn the juicer off. Keep the vids comming. Awesome job.
Wow, I didn't realize there was such a leaking problem with the c7000; or magnet failure with vsj843... I'm glad I got the slowstar from you! Just wondering, will the new Kuvings chef cs600 have a leaking problem as well? If so, how does it compare to the Elite? Thanks!
Later this year we will start to offer a stainless steel press style juicer. Each juicer has its own set of pros and cons. Construction material is one of them.
Yes I know, unfortunately plastic to me if cons with any kind of food processors. I am trying to avoid plastic like fire :) Would you know when the offer will come?
John I've seen you stick your fingers in the top of those juicers on plenty of occasions including this video and I agree with you on not overloading the juicer. but that's the reason they provide a pusher to keep hands and fingers out of that feed shoot. oh and love the videos.
correct. Its a bad habit I have. I dont recommend this, that being said, my fingers are short and unable to reach the blades. (one of the reasons for the long feed chute)
many of the tips in this video will also work for the horizontal. See ua-cam.com/video/r5-iM2U7Kbk/v-deo.html for a video with some tips for a horizontal. Mainly rotate your produce. Also reducing "softer" fruits in the recipe may be helpful
I have that same Omega juicer and I was getting pretty discouraged with it, but after watching this video, I know that I was making some mistakes. I would cut up my carrots super small and I would feed stuff too fast. Then the wiper would always stop and I would have to wait, then it would stop again, even when I only put in a small piece. It was getting infuriating. I juice till I fill up 8 quart size mason jars, which is a lot. It would go great for the first 3 quarts, then start bogging down and stopping the wiper and hearing the click click would start pissing me off. I did rotate my produce and had a lot of root veggies, but the same thing would happen every time. But I think your tip that will save me is the butter knife one because the feed shoot would start spitting out these thin spaghetti strands and was obviously clogged, which would further piss me off. Well, better pissed off than pissed on, but I think these tips will help me to like my juicer the way you like yours.
Another tip: If juicing large amounts (I generally juice about 64 to 96 ounces at a time) and it is jams really bad. Stop and clean the juicer and then start again. So after 3 quarts if its giving you issues, stop and clean the whole unit and start over again. That should solve the issue. Of course, my other tips should help as well.

Remember to follow John's tips and you will LOVE your juicer!
I love love love my VSJ843!!!! got it from John about a year ago. It looks worn and torn but use it daily!!!!
John, instead of using a butter knife, use the brush handle that comes with VSJ843which is a flat tip edge made to do this task. I use it when I clean it
Or a chopstick.

Thank you John, as usual great info!!! I pass along your website to anyone who will listen!!!
Hi John, do you have any idea if there are any next generation vertical slow juicers being developed?
None that I am aware of at this time. Im not sure how they will make it any better.. But Im waiting :)

wont fit :(
When you compared Kuvings c7000 gen to the previous version you said the smaller hole is better due to less leaking onto the machine.
Correct, on the C7000, the leaking on the machine is lessened, but the clogging can happen more. In general, if using the juicer as I explain in this video, the leaking will be less overall. There is no leaking problem with Kuvings c7000(us) c9500(eu). There was one with c6000 when the hole in the strainer was wide as in this Omega.
Hi John. I am looking for a juicer which has as less as it can plastic. Can you please recommend any?

Yes I know, unfortunately plastic to me if cons with any kind of food processors. I am trying to avoid plastic like fire :) Would you know when the offer will come?
Probably July. I will have videos on it at that time.
John I've seen you stick your fingers in the top of those juicers on plenty of occasions including this video and I agree with you on not overloading the juicer. but that's the reason they provide a pusher to keep hands and fingers out of that feed shoot. oh and love the videos.

As long as your main finger isn't short, your good to go.
your advices are always so helpful! keep it up! really like your channel!
John, Will you review omegas new 3 inch feed chute juicer?
See
ua-cam.com/video/r285Lxc4YDs/v-deo.html
Yes but what about the patent? :/
I cant wait to see that video ^^
No patent infringement since they are the same. Parts are maybe even interchangeable(?)
Great tips, John! I wish I could buy this juicer, or any other product from your business, but I live outside of the U.S.! :(
Hi! Do you have a good stainless steel juicer (without plastic contact)? :)
The only model we offer is the Pure Juicer
www.discountjuicers.com/purejuicer.html
Can I put seeded watermelon in the vsj843?
yes, alternate with putting pieces of firm "rind" to better help push out seeds.
John PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do one for people doing the Gerson Therapy PPPPPPP LLLLEASE!!!!!! ASAP!!!!
I cut my carrots lengthwise, but I have horizontal with a small feed chute
Thank you! :) any tips with horizontal ones? I started juicing tow weeks ago, and all tips are welcome! :D
many of the tips in this video will also work for the horizontal. See

Ok thanks, got it. My next juicer I'll buy from you.
By the way, i live for the moment that vertical juicers will not need pre cutting :P
