John you kick serious ass. I'm watching this tonight instead of tv.
+ricebowl3 Thanks!
+ricebowl3 SAME
Mate, seriously enjoyed watching this. Your enthusiasm is infectious, as is your knowledge. Brilliant!
You make great videos that really help me understand about the different juicers. Thank you for all the information that you put out.
Thanks John for all the time you take to give us much needed info & sharing your personal experiences !
I wish I had seen these videos before buying my Omega 800. I would have bought a vert juicer instead just for ease and convenience. Thanks for teaching me so much about juicers since I got my juicer three weeks ago. I love it.
I've been watching and learning from your videos a lot lately! Thanks for all you do. I will be buying a juicer real soon from you and discount juicers!! Still deciding which one.
we love the work that you do
John , I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your video's. I am planning to buy a juicer from you in the near future. Watching this and knowing I can go to you if I need help after purchase is really important to me. Nice to support you instead of Amazon !!
Great overview, John. I sure look forward to the day when we can buy ONE machine that easily and successfully juices leafy greens, hard veg and soft fruits really well. It's time to buy a vertical single auger to complement my Omega mega mouth. This helped me decide which one.:-)
this has been very helpful =) tysm for sharing this info with us !
Your videos are the best John! Keep them coming.
This is great! Very helpful!
watched the whole video! very informative
John 10000000000000000 times thank you... your help is so important... when i am in the States i will buy a juicer from you and would not know which one to buy , you educate us.. i currently own a green star, but i want an easier one too..thanks and love..
AWESOME JOHN
KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK
Great info...Thank you John
Great video.
you legend!! keep doing your thing: )
I support you John, you are the man.
john u r my hero!!
THANK YOU 4 UR VIDEOS
I have been using a $6 blender for 14 years. I bought a Breville juicer and it worked well on fruits, cucumbers and celery. Not on green leafy veggies. I gave it away. I want one that works on greens more than fruit big time.
thank you very much!
This is the second video of yours I have watched tonight. I will be heading to your website soon to check out about buying one of these from you. I read that the Omega VERT VSJ843 Round and square difference is only in shape, with the round being a bit more of space saver. So if the round is a space saver, what advantage does the square have over the round? Just aesthetics?
Best video ever!
I wish there was something in the press units, like the Welles unit.
Fantastic video, John. Thank you very much for making it - it's very generous of you to share your knowledge and time. Can I ask a question? How much less nutritious do you think juice from, say, an Omega VSJ 843 is compared with the Green Star Elite? Is the Green Star Elite's juice significantly more nutritious or is the difference just marginal?
+Bouncy Castle I would only be "guessing" if I answered. As I have not seen the data on this. I would say the juice of the green star elite is significantly more than a centrifugal ejection style machine. At this point, my feeling is that its not that significant compared to a vertical single auger juicer. I use a vertical slow juicer as I feel it gets a good nutrition. I have said before that for every possible advantage, get the GSE-5000 if having the most nutrition is really important to you. This is what I would do if I had a serious health condition I was healing.
+DiscountJuicers.com OK. Thanks for the reply, John. And thanks again for the videos - they're brilliant!
Hi John, How do you think about the Norwalk? Have you ever compared the Norwalk with the Champion grinder + hydraulic presser combo? I'm talking about Nutrition, Yield, Ease of Clean and Use?
Thank you for this informative video. There's one more criteria that is important to me: durability. My first (and only) juicer I purchased 5.5 months ago broke today, and it was the TriBest Slow Star featured in this video. It's a wonderful little juicer, but the housing would periodically refuse to separate from the main body, and today one of the teeth from a plastic gear under the housing broke off. :(
+Gina C Sorry to hear about the challenges you are having with the Slowstar. The broken part should be covered under warranty. Please be sure to watch my video on how to properly use the Slowstar for best results:
ua-cam.com/video/SxbJOxZwZDY/v-deo.html
i am interested in my first juicer, what might you recommend,i would mainly be juicing vegetables that would be in v8 juice, tomoatoes, carrots, spinach, celery and beets.as a new user not extremely expensive but not a cheapest machine either.with an upgrade after i see how often i use it. thanks for the video's.looking to buy soon.
+Brett Culley (Patriot304) For juicing those items, I would get a vertical auger machine, either the Omega VSJ843 or the Slowstar. Each of those machines have their own set of pros and cons. See
ua-cam.com/video/QkUnt-YB2UI/v-deo.html
where I share them.
Hi John, been watchin for a good while - your energy and passion is infectious!
Question 1: I like to blend fruits but, is juicing better idea for pomegrante?
Question 2: Of these you have in this video, which one would you choose for beets, carrots, kale (leafy/hard veggies) - between omega and greenstar?
Great presentations dude!
+Jiva Daya 1) Overall, Juicing fruits will retain more of the most beneficial nutrients in the fruits: the antioxidants and phytochemicals. Blending tends to oxidize them. For this reason, I personally rather juice high antioxidant fruits. Of course on low antioxidant fruits such as bananas, I blend, not juice them.
2) Both the Omega (depending on the model) have pros and cons vs the Green Star Elite. I would determine the most important criteria to you and choose the machine that best meets your needs between them. For me, I personally would choose the slowstar for that combination for ease and speed of use.
+DiscountJuicers.com Thank you for the quick reply. Glad you mentioned the antioxidant fruits, I love cranberries, blueberries and pomegranate so I will juice those for sure. We are committed to the investment but, spending that kind of money, we're hoping to get the "right tool for the job". Your videos are helping us to decide.
Keep up the wonderful work John - Best to you
which one will give me the most juice no matter what I put in it
Awesome video !!! Thank you so much !! I have really upped my juicing lately and am looking to replace my Breville fountain by a vertical auger (tired to use a milk bag to juice the pulps...).One last question though... you did not review the Juicepresso... I am torn between the Tribest Slowstar and the second and latest (Platinum) generations Juicepresso... The price pleads for the slowstar but juicepresso has slower RPM, footprint, wider chute, and they say it's the easiest to clean. But what about yield ? quality of the juicer ? Ease of juicing ? Pulp/foam in juice ? Is it REALLY easier to clean ? Also I juice everything - leafy greens, hard veggies, fruits... does juicepresso handle everything as well as Slowstar ? Low and below, is it worth the price difference ? And... why don't you sell it ? I know you reviewed the first gen Juicepresso back in 2012... why not any more ? Hope these are not embarrassing questions ! Thank you so much for all the valuable input !!! Muriel.
PS : dang it. Reached 50 min. I don't like pulp in my Juice. Now I am considering the Omega VSJ... but it does not handle carrots you said... :(
+Muriel Brisson The Juicepresso does not have a larger feed chute. In my testing the Juicepresso made less yield than both the Slowstar and Omega VSJ843. Stay tuned for the comparison videos. Every video has its own set of pros and cons. Be sure to check my other videos.
Is the fruitstar just as good as the slow star without the blank screen? I'm not looking to make sorbets or anything else but to juice mainly fruits and veggies..
+Fruity Ceejay While the fruitstar and slowstar are both vertical juicers, the Fruit star is a 1st generation machine, and in my opinion has issues with clogging. It would best work for firm fruit, not veggies in my opinion. I no longer recommend 1st generation vertical auger juicers (virtually all vertical machines on the market at this time, aside from the Slowstar and Omega VSJ843). Even the Kuvings Whole slow juicer with its 3" wide feed chute is a 1st generation machine due to the hole in the bottom of the screen.
LOL, I laughed when you said "when you give them the juice".
Hi! I have the Omega VRT400HDS and I am trying to make wheatgrass juice, but it makes a lot of foam and the juice comes out with some pulp. Can you help me out and tell me what am I doing wrong? thanks
+Vanessa Segovia I do not recommend ANY vertical auger juicer for juicing mostly wheatgrass. I would recommend a horizontal auger machine. To juice wheatgrass successfully in a vertical auger juicer, cut the wheatgrass into 1/4" lengths and alternate feeding some wheatgrass pieces and carrot or celery and then repeat until finished.
John, what juicer would be best for juicing beets?
+WorldCommander I would use the Slowstar juicer. It is powerful enough to power thru beets without stopping, and runs at a low rpm to maximize nutrition.
John based of their website. the Omega Vert VSJ843QS can make nut milks and frozen fruit sorbets. Could you do a video to help with the confusion?
+Witcherworks Is "their website" Omega? The VSJ843 does make nut milk, and quite well.. Its what I use most for nut milks. Frozen fruit sorbets, while it will make them using the juicing screen, it was NOT designed to do that, and is not recommended. It may cause breakage that may not be covered under warranty. My grandfather said get the right tool for the right job.
DiscountJuicers.com Yes John it is Omega site. It does say New so I do not know if they came out with an updated model or not. Check out their site and you will see it stating the following.
Make fruit juice, vegetable juice, superfood green juice, nut milks, frozen fruit sorbets and smoothies with the *NEW* Omega Vert, Model VSJ843RS Juicer, low speed 43RPM squeezing juicer system.
+Witcherworks In my opinion, there information is incorrect. There is no "new" model. It appears they havent updated their web site in a long time, since the VSJ came out over a year ago! (The VSJ is the "newer" model of the VRT juicer.
DiscountJuicers.com that makes me feel some type of way about the trustworthiness of the company. Thanks for clearing that up John.
I haven't watched this entire video and I will-but I wanted to know which one of these machines is the easiest to put together and the easiest to take apart? Not too many parts would be good. Also, I've ALWAYS heard Breville's are good Juicers-but I don't see one here-just wondering why not?
+happylifeisgreat Easiest one to take apart and put-together and clean is the Omega NC800 in my opinion.
i am in Canada can i buy it from you and how much will cost for shipping
+Maylat E We do not ship to Canada. We ship anywhere in the United States including Border Cities.
john iyo im looking for juicer, that blends hard veggies (kale, wheat grass) and apples, carrots and celery. Is the omega nc800 good enough?
+billyclub The NC800 would work for that combination. Also check the Solostar 4. Those are the best two at this time for horizontal auger juicers:
ua-cam.com/video/18NH3Scj_r8/v-deo.html
DiscountJuicers.com cool thanks for the quick reply!
DiscountJuicers.com also is a slowstar good enough to juice kale and wheat grass? or is the nc800 or solostar 4 the better options?
+billyclub The Slowstar will juice kale and hard veggies. It will also juice wheatgrass, but if you want to juice alot of wheatgrass, I recommend a horizontal auger juicer. They handle wheatgrass better. In a vertical, wheatgrass should be precut into 1/2" pieces and alternate with carrots or celery for best results. Thats why I recommend the NC800 or Solostar 4 for your needs.
DiscountJuicers.com ok cool, hopefully ill make a purchase asap. thanks for the help
John I know everyone has to make that dollar, what is the benefit to buying through your site vs Amazon when their prices are generally lower?
+Justin D I encourage people to vote with their dollars. Here are some advantages:
1. You allow me to stay in business to continue to educate people about eating healthy, juicing, and reviewing machines.
2. You get AFTER sale support. If you have a specific juicer question after you get your juicer, Im confident, I will have a significantly better answer than a "big box retailer" can give. I use the juicers that are offered at DiscountJuicers.com
3. If you have a legitimate warranty claim with the manufacturer, and they are not taking care of you, I will ensure you are taken care of.
4. We will match the price of other authorized retailers on factory new machines. So there will be no price difference to support www.discountjuicers.com/
See 44:12 in the video where I speak about this.
WHICH 1NS ARE COLD PRESS ONLY
OUT OF THESE 1NS
can I have one of your extra juicer that you don't use.. please
First
this was wayyyyy tooooooooo long
John, your "knockoff juicers from China" comment was NOT in good taste. I'm a fan of your videos and have learned a lot...but c'mon man, we all know knockoff juicers can come from ANY country. I'm hoping you recognize your viewers may span from around the world.
+Anthony T I apologize, and accept your correction. Im half Chinese myself. In any case, I was wrong. Knock-off's CAN come from ANY country. That being said 100% of the knock offs I have seen have been from China, which is why I made such a statement in the first place.
