the biggest 2 caveats to this device are (1) it is not weatherized and (2) the front lens shutter jams when dust gets inside.....then the camera won't work at all. I had to send mine back. The camera to get, besides this one, is the Sony RX100 MK7......smoking camera and very expensive.
really depends on which Iphone. The Iphone 15 Pro Max will take similar resolution quality however the reach on this blows the fruit out of the apple. You have some great abilities to capture things far away and the sensor in this device is much larger than the Iphone lineup.

It was announced in February, 2018. It's still being produced as far as I know. New copies are still available at this writing. Mine arrived with a dead touch screen and was repaired under warranty. No issues since except dust on the sensor 🤥 which I removed with a straw attached to a dust buster hand vacuum.

This camera is just not gonna cut the cake when it comes to art, but as a documentary swiss-army knife, it does it's job.

I haven't taken many photographs at night with this camera, but for what I saw in the video aspect it performed quite well.
