I needed this. I want to be a videographer and currently saving money for a camera. I started shooting videos with my phone to practice until I have a camera.
My first ever gig I shot with my drone and a friend's iPhone 13 when it came out years ago. Now I own a couple of cameras and variety of lights and mics. The first thing to test drive is your confidence, prove to yourself you can do it and investing will be easier afterwards
You can do a lot of good shots with your phone if you use it properly. The big advantage of a camera is the aperture and shutter speed control. When you can really get a good depth of field, that’s when you get excellent shots with a camera.
I started my own business as a music video director and I was booming at the start. After I started dealing with college I took a fat break from it as I had many homework and projects for my classes. After I graduated with a film degree I find it a waste of time. I would have rather kept on putting the motivation. But now I’m getting back up to pursue what I wanted to be.
I AGREE! there is nothing better then doing the job! I can see myself, scare to step out of the comfort zone and ask/shot videos for others. But I shot already some baptisms and 1st communions and I have to say that it was amazing experience! I done a lot of mistakes and when I was editing the videos I seen them and I can point them now, but without going and doing it myself I would never see them, I would never improve on them! Its crazy how much you can learn from 1 simple job like this. That will cover hours if not months spend watching youtube videos. They are important for knowledge but the experience from actually doing the jobs is far more important.
you won my heart with this video and my subscription and I am sure we will grow on this platform together. you have inspired me to work more on my videography. keep creating I am here to watch.
We're launching into our full time free lance career this month and we're super nervous but SO so excited!! I was feeling especially anxious about it all today, but then stumbled across this video and you gave me the inspiration i needed! Thank you!
This has made me think of all the things I have done and people told me how I couldn't do it and they misnamed me from being ambitious to saying am proud but the fact is I had faith that everything is possible once you push it. Thank for sharing am happy I now create videos on UA-cam and people love them.
Subbed. incredible story. I started a little over a year ago and mostly do short form videos on tiktok and various other platforms. I currently work construction, and I've been working at my skills for a while now. I don't know if I'm ready. But I think it's time to take the leap. Thank you for this video.
Wow, thanks for sharing your journey! I've already taken a big leap by transitioning my career to become a post-production video editor. But I can't shake the feeling that something's missing because I haven't fully dived into learning videography yet. I'm excited about what the future holds, but I know I need to get that videography knowledge under my belt to feel complete. 🙏
Absolutely inspiring! I want to be a photographer and videographer. I learned some basics when I studied at university because my major was communication and media. But I was afraid to do this real, and I don't have professional devices. I'm still afraid, but I realized something, too: I have to create with what I have now. And the real situation will be different when I just practice alone. Those will not be perfect and first not that professional maybe. But with practicing and creating with others my skills will sharpen as well.
I was scared at first, but now I shoot and do whatever I like. It changed nothing in my work life. I think I need to be more market oriented rather than do what I like
Thanks for this video mate. I just started my journey aswell and I wish I had a friend who was enthusiastic about cinematography and video editing as me. But that won't stop me and i'll get there to the point that i can sau goodbye to my old job and become a fulltime filmmaker. Subscribed because I like your story
Love this! 'Just focus on your own journey'. I would add, ensure you have people around to help you as you focus on that journey. Inspiring! Great work!! Huge Congrats!
This video was incredibly inspiring, Jonah! Your journey from a corporate job to becoming a full-time filmmaker in just three months is truly motivating. As someone on the path of content creation, your story has given me the push I needed to step out of my comfort zone and fully commit to my passion. Thank you for sharing your experience and insights-it's exactly what I needed to hear. Can't wait to see more from you and maybe even join the six-figure filmmaker program! 🙌 #Inspired #ContentCreationJourney
Funny thing is. I have two relatively nice cameras for photo and video. I have a gimbal. I just don’t have that much time to really do it. But I’m going to this summer. Only thing I don’t have is a powerful laptop, my MacBook sounds like a jet engine when editing 4K clips.
Wow! I’m inspired by the comments and also loved the video… I am not a lawyer or doctor. I am in sales and dream to make a career I love in film Making and creating content field
Amazing video! I leave a subscribe. I want to swap from my sony a6400 to something better with stabilization and start recording more edits with cars, vlogs, commercial videos etc. It's so hard to choose something because there is a lot of cameras in the market
What I'm really curious is where do you want to take this in the future? It's one thing to build a local production business (relatively easy), but another to be recognized worldwide. I know this is a video about making the first step, but after that, you don't mention your direction for the future, be that it's one month or one year down the line. Why did you start a cooking channel? How did it come about? These are important details that give your viewers a good example on how to apply the same or similar cases to themselves. Is it something you like? Is it something you're good at? Is it both, or is it something different? Even if someone takes the first step because you inspired them, it doesn't mean they'll eventually get where you're at. Every impulsive action needs goals to guide the energy behind it. It doesn't have to make sense, but you need something to strive for. At least that's what worked for me. I don't consider myself to be special, quite the contrary, but every person is different and these are things that I feel like you should have mentioned. And for what it's worth I really enjoyed this your video. It could have been much longer and I still would have watched completely through, but I don't do YT, so I don't really know about algorithms and what not.
Hey all, hope everyone is doing alright today! Just wanted to let you all know that God loves you all very much and He proved it by sending His only Son Jesus, to die and rise for us, Why? Because the Bible teaches us that we're all sinners in need of a Saviour, who have broken the Laws of God (the Ten Commandments) and deserve hell as eternal punishment. We can't save ourselves, no good deeds can make us acceptable in God's eyes, BUT if we repent of our sins and trust fully in Jesus death and resurrection, we WILL be saved and be FOREVER forgiven!
Good thing you don’t have a family kiddo, this then would have taken you much longer. And you had the finances to fund your business which is where most are lacking. Love your Zeal though keep following your passion!🤙🏻
I needed this. I want to be a videographer and currently saving money for a camera. I started shooting videos with my phone to practice until I have a camera.
It's me now shooting on my phone editing on capcut and posting on whatsapp and Tiktok ❤
My first ever gig I shot with my drone and a friend's iPhone 13 when it came out years ago. Now I own a couple of cameras and variety of lights and mics. The first thing to test drive is your confidence, prove to yourself you can do it and investing will be easier afterwards
Congratulations. I'm still shooting with my phone but will buy my camera soon
I'm still shooting with my phone but will buy the camera before December
You can do a lot of good shots with your phone if you use it properly. The big advantage of a camera is the aperture and shutter speed control. When you can really get a good depth of field, that’s when you get excellent shots with a camera.
Everything you want in life is on the other side of your comfort zone.
STRONG 💪🏾
Everybody needs a friend like Jason.
“Assume the identity” I felt this. Glad you broke away and started doing what you love

Thanks for keeping it basic but impactful. I was relieved to see a sub 10 minute video on the subject.
