Farming was my 1st 99 on my new account. Herb runs with watermelons while doing early game quests. The game turned into a farming simulator for me at one point. Waking up at random hours doing tree and herb runs. It honestly became a different game for me at that point. The passive money I get from farming is unmatched imo
the skill cape also completely changes how you interact with the game alongside the poh spirit tree. prior to getting the construction and crafting capes, you're basically always at the farming guild between activities. farming was my first 99 too and i wouldn't be where I'm at today without it
I wouldn't try so hard to maximise doing herb and tree runs on the exact hours, that would make training farming a job. I just do tree runs once a day before i log out, herb runs maybe twice a day, at the start and end of my day. In between that, i have time to finish out my quests, do some slayer, whatever else i want to do. When i got 99 farming as my first skill cape, i didn't even felt like it was a grind it reach here. And now with 99 farming and skill cape, i can maximise herb runs for passive profit.

@@dino-e8b im an iron and ive done just over 200kc, its been about 2 months since doing SOE and i tend to hop on for a few hours each night, also have recently doubled up a grind and going for dwh on shamans and got just over 1k kills on them. Its a long grind, its 1/400 for an enhanced (ideally you want 2 for bowfa and seldor). Then each armour seed is 1/50. You then also need to get enough shards to make each item, corrupt the bowfa and seldor and make divine pots, if you do not have the levels to make bowfa and seldor you have already got to earn 2300 shards, you tend to get about 7-8 on average per cg, then you need i think 300 extra to do your first full charge on the crystal armour pieces and also get however many for rhe divine pots. My suggestion is get enough for full crystal armour and a corrupted bowfa (so probably about 400+ kc) and then when you need to top up your divine pots do a few return trips, eventually you will gef the enhanced this way, and seldor is nice but not necessary. Also once you have the 6 armour seeds and any weapon seeds, take them to the pub near the cg and you can get them converted for shards, if you are a main sell it and buy the pots you want instead.

Sold them immediately and put the full money to a max house, by faaaar the best upgrade I've ever seen, all the jewellery I have now gives me teleports to basically everywhere, I've got the fairy ring and spirit tree in my house, got a portal nexus which is my main way of getting around, got the rejuvenating pool, a pet room for the couple of those I was lucky enough to get, I built a leagues room not knowing what It was so it's been my only empty room but now that I just started my first leagues yesterday I am very much looking forward to putting a trophy in there, hoping to get silver in leagues, I don't wanna stop playing my main for too long but it's been fun dipping into leagues for a few days
Improving your combat statistics has a more significant impact on your damage per second than upgrading your gear. While getting the bowfa is absolutely a massive and important step in your account's progression, raising your combat stats will be a significantly more cost-effective way to boost your DPS. Training your stats should only costs time, especially if you are levelling through slayer or even nightmare zone (though if you're going chinning until level 99 its gonna cost a fortune). I've run a few quick calculations to try to argue my case first lets look at the DPS at Zulrah. If you're using the bowfa at level 92 Ranged, your DPS will be 11.4% higher than if you were using the Crystal Bow at level 99 Ranged. However, if you attain 99 Ranged and then use the bowfa, your DPS will be 28% higher than with the Crystal Bow. This trends can also be seen at Muspah and Zilyana. With the bowfa at level 92 Ranged, your DPS increases by 11.7% and 14% respectively compared to the Crystal Bow at level 99 Ranged. But, at 99 Ranged with the bowfa, your DPS outperforms the Crystal Bow by 21.5% and 29% at Muspah and Zilyana respectively. Considering the cost of the bowfa + crystal armour is around 140 million gold compared to the crystal bow + crystal armour at only 35.5 million gold, the benefits probably does not justify the costs until you've maxed ranged. Assuming I've done my math right, at level 92 Ranged, the bowfa gives an average DPS increase of just 12% for an extra 105 million gold. This works out at approximately 11.6 million gold per 1% DPS increase on average. However, at level 99 Ranged, the cost-effectiveness improves significantly, with every 5.3 million gold invested into the bowfa giving a 1% DPS increase on average. I don't even disagree with your recommendation that people try to get bowfa, even before maxing ranged (I started going for it at level 97 ranged) but generally speaking you should prioritize stats first then gear because the gear really only excels compared to more affordable gear at the high end.
You kind of literally disproved your point. Because your initial argument was getting your stats up is more dps than upgrading gear and weps. But then your literal first comparison of bowfa with 92 range being an 11+% dps increase than 99 with a crystal bow which. Meaning the time it took you to get 99 range not only cost you time to level, it cost you dps, which was more time in killing bosses, which was less gp per hour killing those bosses, and overall a loss in all directions
98-99 not worth chinning for, but some lower levels it will be more dps/gp than upgrading to bofa. Also if you're buying bofa vs chinning and buying bofa you'd need to make up for the difference in time saved which I'm not sure how much and when to chin. Interested question certainly.
@@InstinctxInstinct I did not contradict my initial point; an unintended deletion on my part has led to this confusion. Specifically, the words "for gold cost" were accidentally removed from the phrase "your damage per second than upgrading your gear," causing it to lose its original intent, you can see there is two spaces between "per second " and "upgrading your gear". The corrected statement should have read, "boosting your stats results in more DPS for gold cost than upgrading gear and weapons." The crux of my argument centres on the DPS-to-cost ratio. In most cases, it's more cost-effective to increase your stats than gear when it comes to increasing DPS. My calculations do show that the bowfa yields a higher damage output, but it doesn't negate my point about prioritizing stats over gear for most cost-effective DPS boost. Here's an example to illustrate this point: If you equip the bowfa at level 80 (the earliest level you can do so), your damage output at Zilyana would be significantly less-32.7%-than at level 99 ranged. In other words, if you reach level 99 in ranged, the DPS increase is a whopping 48.6% over where you started at level 80. All your gear has remained constant and yet you're outputting ~50% more damage. Compare this to a mere 29.2% DPS increase when switching from a crystal bow at level 99 to the bowfa. Since levelling ranged is essentially free outside of chinning, levelling ranged is nearly infinitely better value in terms of percentage of dps increase/gp spent. Your point about the time invested in levelling must too be discussed. If your argument is that one should use the bowfa to level up ranged, that's not an optimal at all. The bowfa is not the most efficient and certainly not the most cost-effective method for levelling ranged, especially for those starting at level 80. And that's putting aside that most accounts don't have 145 mil laying around to buy full crystal + plus bowfa if they haven't even gotten past 80 ranged (I know that I certainly didn't). When levelling ranged through Slayer tasks, there are few situations where the bowfa would be the most advantageous in terms of XP or GP per hour. There are some exceptions, like specific boss tasks and demonic gorillas for the ranged switch. But these are rare compared to the bulk of Slayer tasks, which are more efficient and economical using different gear. Thus, the time spent levelling to 99 ranged is not a true loss, unless you're trying to train on bosses that are not great xp/hr anyways-it's the biggest contributor to your overall DPS with respect to the amount of money required to achieve the result.
I think the main argument is if you can afford it, the best gear you can wear will speed up your grind regardless so yeah stats are most important but if you can buy/grind out an upgrade that will save you time grinding in the long run
Hey just wondering, I just completed RFD on my first account and I've been wondering how much more difficult are the grandmaster quests? Something about the new Desert Treasure II is giving me the feeling I won't be able to complete it even if I had all stats and gear necessary to get there.
There's a bit of scaling up to the GM quest bosses, they aren't impossible by any means but, upping your combat stats will help a lot if you're just trying to get just the 1 kill for the quest. Most of the bosses have a learning curve that will take a few tries to get down but they are doable! Just make sure you know mechanics for fights going in and you'll get it with time, teleporting out and trying again will happen so just try em out!
whats like quite a lot earlier than this? like "hey youve been killing free to play, now its time to use your first bond." any high impact things I can do before I pay for perm membership? or how I can get my economy strong enough to buy 8m bonds etc
I have a couple videos about account progression here:ua-cam.com/play/PLCeQU-BLzBlfmZGsKpqvXiJ90AAuM7lQo.html but nothing for that specific area right now... I have seen a few people ask for something similar so maybe a "when to buy a bond and what to do after" video would be helpful
I’d also honestly recommend just going ahead and getting Lumbridge Elite Diary done if you are going for a quest cape. You only need to grind to 84 smithing with a +4 boost from Giants Foundry. Having that Elite Diary done allows you to use fairy rings without the staff and it’s honestly one of the best upgrades.
13:50 come on man barb assault is not that bad, even with randoms. It only stinks if you arent willing to spend some time learning. A fighter torso will at MOST take an afternoon on a weekend
For the karamja hard diary, its good for teleporting to the highest level slayer master. It's a really really good one to go for. And it has easy requirements.
Amazing guide. My account is about halfway through completing this list. I’ve got a 150m bank (30m of which is cash) - would you recommend buying Rigour now or do some PVM to get a 200m bank first?
Depends what your focus is right now - if you are farming vorkath/zulrah/muspah to make money for skilling, I would 100% recommend it, you'll want to get it eventually so using gp now to make more money is super beneficial! If you are more skilling focused right now I'd use your money on that instead
Man, I despise a lot of the minigames for how slow and confusing they can feel. Tempoross? Nice and simple skilling boss. Barbarian Assault? Overly complicated gobbledegook that somehow has two really big level 50 melee chests in it.
The one thing I struggle to do with diaries is finishing up the kandarin due to barbarian assault. Do you have any tips for getting that done? Seems to be pretty intimidating given the BA community.
Don't use W306 if you can avoid it, clan mates/friends only game is ideal but if you can't do that try to always get on a team with the guy wearing full void or multiple reward items from BA (Skirt/Torso/Hat) they will just hard carry and let you just glide through 😂
I’m so freaking close to my quest cape but desert treasure is really fucking me up hahah only tried to fight vardorvos and die whenever I get him down to 100ish hp
Medium tier CA is more achievable than you'd think as some involve skilling like Tempeross. What first interested me, and now im dead set grinding out a Hilt 2
Yeah, I've been looking at it and everything seems quite doable even on my early game uim. I got a decent amount of combat achievements from +1 at cox which has definitely helped, but doing barrows without any ppots will pay off huge.
I rushed 99 construction with the help of some bonds that I bought and sold. Totally worth having. I find myself constantly teleporting to my house and then to the farmer’s guild via the spirit tree. My construction cape is always in my inventory. Having a maxed out house is one of the greatest things in OSRS.
Could have got the same results with 84 construction and teletabs for a whole lot less and used the money and time on more important skills or gear. But to each their own
@@doesnotexist305 yeah like I said, to each their own. there is just a much much more effective use of that cash and time. You can buy 200,000 tele tabs for about the same price as 99 cons, but I know what you mean, you wanted the 99 and the convenience.
well no, it means that you are in the mid game (which makes up 75% of account progression) just not at the point where you are entering the late game, but the quest cape is used for an elite diary which is a late game thing.
If anyone wants to get a tbow/shadow i heavily recommend getting into nex. Liquidating your whole bank is definitely worth it since nex is 12-15m/hr in 5 mans

+ you'd make more than the cost of the bowfa and armor on your way to 99 range by using it in most cases. Not all but most
98-99 not worth chinning for, but some lower levels it will be more dps/gp than upgrading to bofa.
The corrected statement should have read, "boosting your stats results in more DPS for gold cost than upgrading gear and weapons."
The crux of my argument centres on the DPS-to-cost ratio.
My god, you're so good at convincing to do the diaries!
10:48 You cannot boost for spirit tree w/ ring.
Good video. I would add a “First 99” as Strength or Ranged if and only if they don’t like skilling.
Great video man, earned a like and sub for sure! ❤
Range -> hp -> fletching. Working on mining slowly now
whats like quite a lot earlier than this? like "hey youve been killing free to play, now its time to use your first bond." any high impact things I can do before I pay for perm membership? or how I can get my economy strong enough to buy 8m bonds etc
Going for my infernal last week was so stressful, but we'll worth it after 34 tries
infernal cape is huge, big gz!
Geez thanks lol
I’d also honestly recommend just going ahead and getting Lumbridge Elite Diary done if you are going for a quest cape. You only need to grind to 84 smithing with a +4 boost from Giants Foundry. Having that Elite Diary done allows you to use fairy rings without the staff and it’s honestly one of the best upgrades.
And here Im 2000 total with all of that 😂 love the video anyway 👌
Imagine getting like, tons of 99s only to realize quests and diaries would've made it way better
same as getting 99 combat then doing slayer 😂
13:50 come on man barb assault is not that bad, even with randoms. It only stinks if you arent willing to spend some time learning. A fighter torso will at MOST take an afternoon on a weekend
For the karamja hard diary, its good for teleporting to the highest level slayer master. It's a really really good one to go for. And it has easy requirements.
🤝
Amazing guide. My account is about halfway through completing this list. I’ve got a 150m bank (30m of which is cash) - would you recommend buying Rigour now or do some PVM to get a 200m bank first?
Depends what your focus is right now - if you are farming vorkath/zulrah/muspah to make money for skilling, I would 100% recommend it, you'll want to get it eventually so using gp now to make more money is super beneficial! If you are more skilling focused right now I'd use your money on that instead
I know what I must do but I do not know if I have the strength to do it
got everything on this list except for the bowfa on my ironman, going dry 😢
Blessing the RNG 🙏🙏🙏
@@NoLeather thanks my man
Is ranging potions spelled wrong or am i tripping?
embrace the raning potion
Rane of knowledge!
@@3RacoonsInATrenchCoat you're crazy! I dig that. :^)
Some great advice!
99 con is amazing Best max skill in the game having the poh max is best I don’t pay for teleports had it for 5 years now and very happy
keep it up, more content like this.
I enjoy wildy 3 dairy for the daily teleport to recharge dragonstone jewelry- bring a seed pod
Man, I despise a lot of the minigames for how slow and confusing they can feel. Tempoross? Nice and simple skilling boss. Barbarian Assault? Overly complicated gobbledegook that somehow has two really big level 50 melee chests in it.
first tip to escape "mid game"
-complete 157 quests :3
158*
Only in runescape is "complete all quests in the game" considered the mid game
I've been putting off doing DT2 for so long lol.
The one thing I struggle to do with diaries is finishing up the kandarin due to barbarian assault. Do you have any tips for getting that done? Seems to be pretty intimidating given the BA community.
Don't use W306 if you can avoid it, clan mates/friends only game is ideal but if you can't do that try to always get on a team with the guy wearing full void or multiple reward items from BA (Skirt/Torso/Hat) they will just hard carry and let you just glide through 😂
@@NoLeather I guess first thing to do is get in a clan then. Appreciate the response and the video in general!
This is how I'm feeling now. Did you end up doing it lol?
I feel like this video was made directed at me lol
13:49 "And arguably the most important" *shows the least important* 😂
I’m so freaking close to my quest cape but desert treasure is really fucking me up hahah only tried to fight vardorvos and die whenever I get him down to 100ish hp
6:46 raning potions
Medium tier CA is more achievable than you'd think as some involve skilling like Tempeross. What first interested me, and now im dead set grinding out a Hilt 2
my man, gl with the grind
But to each their own
@@TopODaMernin yeah but I also wanted the infinite home teleports of the construction cape. And also the 99 lol
@@doesnotexist305 yeah like I said, to each their own. there is just a much much more effective use of that cash and time. You can buy 200,000 tele tabs for about the same price as 99 cons, but I know what you mean, you wanted the 99 and the convenience.
should have used player auctions 😂
God i wanna do bosses and xp grinds but that quest cape is intimidating.
I just got 99 construction a couple days ago. On mobile.
I've always been proud of the fact I grinded my way to a tbow rebuild despite never seeing a purple or other big drop.
Adam give us one more man! ❤
Ah, got it.
As someone who still can’t finish every quest, I’m guessing I’m not even in mid game yet.
well no, it means that you are in the mid game (which makes up 75% of account progression) just not at the point where you are entering the late game, but the quest cape is used for an elite diary which is a late game thing.
step 1. get a quest cape
nice
If anyone wants to get a tbow/shadow i heavily recommend getting into nex. Liquidating your whole bank is definitely worth it since nex is 12-15m/hr in 5 mans
nex gp is veeeery good in small team 🤝
How does one find partners for raiding in the future? My friends have long quit and will not come back for political reasons.
Im in the same boat - 2000 total level main
Find a clan
You know what sucks, things like barbarian outpost you need to complete it. Can't find a team and boosting costs 36 mil with a 2 day que.
People actually charge for that? I grabbed my buddy 2 randoms and hard carried it. Join a clan and just ask for help, it’s really quick
How do I escape The End Game? Please make it stop.
Death my friend…. Death
Your construction boost math is off. Everything you mentioned with the exception of the pools required+10 level boosts. After you just said+8 was the highest
I have the opposite problem. My account is ready for endgame content but my skills are definitely not
Quack!
Quack!
Lmao I’m trying to do this on my Ironman right now, just did my first TOA raid
huge for the account, gl with your grinds 💪
Why wouldn’t you do mahogany homes or even it
Get a q cape is your first suggestion?!
watching this made me realize im not even at mid game lol
Smithing level: LOL.
I mean...yeah. That's legit.
Bruhhh I wish HDOS had this lighting
Good Video
Inferno>10. Jk awesome guide, but I think barrows gloves are also pretty much a requirement, especially since you need 180qp for them
Legend.
good video
Nice video

Unclear instructions, started spamming lol at ge and didnt get any smith xp.. some guy ran up to me and said what the fuck is so funny and i said smithing, then he started training too.. wtf am i doing wrong
did you try turning it off and on again?
For smithing, 88 is a good target since you can start making addy platebodies
Blast furnace is all you need for Xp and profit.
my first 99 ever was hp
investing in a POH is the best investment i hav ever made. it's a gamechanger when u get a decent house with teleports and shit
Fire cape is piss easy and can be achieved in the mid game
crafting guild chest is only good with the crafting cape... by itself it's very out of the way.
Quest cape is mid game?😢
Ah yes, the old "Get a 160mil worth of equipment" method of escaping mid game.
Wait until you see the price of end game gear 😬
lmao i need 250 mill for my next upgrade... im stuck at right before end game full bandos, fang, ahrims w ancestral hat and ward, crystal bofa T__T got claws and bgs all jewerly.... just waiting for my shadow drop T____T
@@deeznuts3472 ancestral hat kinda pointless
Bruh I'm 91 cooking and I'm still burning sharks...
dont let tears of guthix go towards rc. rc is so easy to train nowadays
Iv been grinding mining for what feels like a year I looked up how long it would take me too 99 it from 92 and it's still 160 hours I literally almost quit 😂
World 331 (sometimes 329) always has at least 1 POH open to teleport so you don't have to worry about being on 330
Getting 99s means getting worlds with only real players and not ge bots spamming phishing links
