- T18 is NOT for everyone- we'll go through how to mix it, apply it, what hair color it works best for and toner alternatives.
*key points:
•T18= TONER VIOLET, VIOLET (for yellow hair)
•If you have yellow & orange hair, T14 may be a better fit (T14 = TONER VIOLET BLUE)
•1:2 ratio to mix this up (one part T18 to two parts of developer)
•20 volume developer is recommended for T18, remember 20 volume LIFTS hair. THIS TONER WILL LIFT (think of it as a high-lift color- it lifts the hair and tones at the same time) It will lift the hair even if you go down in developer, such as 10 and even 5 (I've tried it with both and it still lifts the hair) It is intended to be used on solid blonde (no lowlights- it will change them)
•it is applied to towel-dried hair; developing time is 30 minutes
•rinse toner out thoroughly and shampoo/condition

Always dyeing and I really love the wella toners. These two plus the 050. NEVER LET ME DOWN. I have used them alone and together. Recently dyed my hair and it was so brassy brownish orange. Bought an expensive brass off true blue shampoo. It literally made it worse. I had the 050 and on a whim did it alone. And I have to say the cool color was a perfect ash blond. Not a strand of orange or yellow.

Hi! I’m using wella lightner as my highlight and 7a as my lowlight both with 20 volume. I was going to tone with wella t18 with a 10 volume in a bottle. But now I’m concerned that it might turn the lowlights orange. Should I use t14 with 10 volume instead? I’m just not sure.

I struggle with finding a toner for the shade of blonde Im looking for. Ive never had toners explained like that before especially the wella brand and ive watched sooooooo many videos on youtube that im totally confused uuhhh..so you suggest t14 to cancel the orange I would love to see a video of that, too many people use tht horrible t18 no matter what shade and I dont like that silver/gray color. Hi, what would the difference be between t18 and the new t19 pearlescent blonde? Hair is freshly sliced to level 10 platinum, but the toner washed out after 1-2 washes (left with that banana yellow color if you know what i mean) and purple shampoo is like a chore so im considering one of these to do myself for the whitest clean white blonde? Thanks

Why is it called a permanent toner? I thought all toners were demi or semi?
i am not really sure but i would assume it’s because it lifts the hair- changing the level (like bleach) making a permanent change
