Looking forward to your ranking of the solo plays of Uwe Rosenberg games!
Sounds silly, but I am too! I'm having trouble sorting out in my mind which ones I like best. I also need to do it for culling purposes... 🥺😱😅
My favourite Uwe game! The expansion, Tea & Trade, makes it even better!
I do want to try the expansion!! Hard to get hold of in the UK though. What does it change or add?
It makes it playable at 3p and adds a ton of new buildings. It adds another resource (tea) that can be used to boost your actions (temporary tools basically). It adds a harbor, fishing boats, and a few additional actions. It adds ditches which grant some benefit to squares of your farm they’re adjacent to. And at 3p you start the game off with more resources, a cart, and specialization whereby you get to choose things such as tools to have upgraded from the jump or start with a building.
Always love seeing Uwe on the table and I love how you put the horse on the cart tile!
Makes for a more thematic experience 😁😋 thank you for watching!
Yeah, this can feel a bit overwhelming. I usually pick a main strategy and 2-3 supporting strategies based on the setup of the buildings and mark the spaces/buildings a want to use with peat-cubes at the beginning of the game (I play with the expansion which adds more variability). What i love about the game ist that every strategy has its place (even the apparently weaker ones) under the right circumstances.
Looking forward for this Uwe series. 😎 FoA is my favourite, followed by At The Gates of Loyang, but that might change sooner since I've been enjoying a lot Oranienburger Kanal
Some good choices there!! 😊
I love Before you Play but mostly play solo, so excited to hear what you think of these games for solo!
Me too!! Such a great channel. I am pretty much solo only with a dabble of two player so their playthroughs only help me so much 😊
Hvae fun with your solo Uwe series, i'm really enjoying playing Uwe solo to be fair especially Hallertau (JP)
Thank you!! It looks like a very fun one I need to get that one played 😊
12:02 It's hard to tell because it's a large board, but was there a cost of 1 food to select a building? You paid 10, but said it cost 9. (I'm trying to decide if I want this and/or Ora et Labora.
Well done for a game that's not entirely in your sweet spot! Also great to hear your inner voice as you decide what to do. Plays where all the thinking is done off camera can be a bit boring; and a bit of why to support the what is also helpful.
Thank you very much for your comments! That's good to know, there's often a lot more thinking edited out so I try and get the balance right between keeping the game flowing Vs showing what my thought process is 😁
Ha - yes. Editing is such a time sink! You are finding a good balance, though, and I'm looking forward to watching more.
"I think therefore I," you started to say. Then while I was thinking "I am" you said "I am." At least I'm following along correctly. :D
Just discovered your channel and I am just about to get this game in the mail. Managed to pick it up from a second hand market exchange, as it is still unavailable in my neck of the woods.
Hello and welcome! I hope you enjoy it! It's a fun one :)
On your last turn where you were deciding whether to flip something with the warden. Flipping the forest to the park with net four points. Unless you are desperate for food, you should never trade in a 3 point plow ti get 1 point on the travel track.
Very good point! I can see that now! Thank you for the tip! 😁
will you be doing a solo playthrough of "A Feast for Odin"?
I will indeed 😊
@@bluedogboardgames i have A Feast For Odin but haven't brought it to the table! looking forward to that playthrough.
I regret trading this game away, i thought it was relaxing and would have been great to play with my wife. We play Agricola but i think this might be better two player
at soloplay you don't have any automa that block spots ?
Nope! Not in this game, some of Uwe's other games have that though
@@bluedogboardgames thanks
