I would think the 99a were better for rougher, street terrain because they're softer than the 101a, which would seem better for park since they are a bit harder. In any case, I ride the 99a, 56mm F4s, and they are pretty icey (in the best possible way). Almost effortless on backside power slides, and pretty smooth ride for a hard wheel. I say get you some and give 'em a try.

You young dudes can keep your hard freaking wheels no thanks😁....I'm on Mini Logos 90a 58mm and will be trying 95a 56mm next. My sons F4 Spitfires almost killed me. A few weeks ago I was just skating along and a tiny bb sized pebble bodied me, I cracked my freaking ribs . The ER doctor says I'll feel this for months I thought that was baloney but here I am a month later waking up every morning in pain. 😂 I still love hard wheels on smooth cement esp the sound they make its like crack for my ears but I skate street and this old 80's dude needs a softer ride. The trick is finding the sweet spot where hard and soft meet up and sliding isn't affected so much as to screw up your flow. If wheels get to sticky they can almost twist your ankles just doing simple tricks like shuvits or nocomplys. Ya gotta have that micro slide that happens when ya do tricks, that little give can save your knees and ankles. If I skated park 95% of the time I'd skate 56-58 Bones SPF or STF , Spits are good to but I like that chalky dry feeling that Bones wheels have.

As soon as F4s came out I loved them and stopped riding bones. But over the years I would occasionally buy Minilogo wheels when I was short on cash over F4s. Something about F4 99s feel so good. But now I ride for Minilogo and mostly skate their wheels and they are great but my last two sets of wheels are the bones stf 99s and to me the bones 99s are as a good as F4 99s.
I prefer the formula four colour than white like bones because than I know the wheel just has natural good things instead of putting more bad things in the wheel to make it white I ride the 99a conical fulls in the streets no problem but I think a 101a classic is better for street when it comes down to weight just because if you powerslide a 99a classic it might flat spot because of the skinny riding surface it most probably won't flat spot unless you are riding ashphat and you grind in with your heels but it's like a 10% chance it will flat spot but I wanted a smooth ride without having to worry about flat spots so I got 99a conical full wheel But for skateparks I would say a 99a classic for a light wheel or a 101a conical full for a fast wheel but if you want a fast and light wheel get to 101a classics but be very careful about sliding out especially on the first day when you get them
I have rode a lot of wheels and really love the feeling of the Spitfire 99D conical formula four, to me how they skate is so much more important than color.

i ride 50mm too and it’s hard to decipher if i like the 99 or 101 best. I think they both have their spots. I recently tried 51mm and it’s not a bad choice either.
@@d.kashani I’ve upgraded to 52-53mm Spitfires in the last year. Feels a bit better. I still like 101As but 99A are just a tad gruppier and softer that they feel slightly better than the 101As. For some reason I still persist with buying 101As though 😂. Maybe next time!
Street Riding my board for a good 5 years with 2 TBones 65mm at the rear( lifted tale) & 2 classic spitfire 53mm at the front let me tell you One does what the other doesn't Bones on my opinion are better for power sliding thats why I used to keep Them at the rear and the sticky spitfires at the front.
Legal Man that makes no sense at all lol why have two different size wheels 65 to 53 is a huge difference and I garuntee it messes with you even if you don't think so
He mixed them up. The higher the durometer, the harder the wheel. So 99s are slightly softer and 101s are harder. I ride 99 and they skate great in the park and in the street. But if your streets are really rough around you and you don't go to the park often, I'd say go with a softer wheel.
i love me some yellow ass spitfires but i love me some stf too. I dont have a preference I have boths kinds of wheels on 2 different set ups because im a grown ass man and I can afford to indulge in the equipment that i didnt get the opportunity to as a kid. I like pairing my thunder set up with f4s and my indy set up has bones stf
If you're riding rough ground like streets, 99D is better. It's also our most popular durometer. If you only ride smooth surfaces like skateparks, lots of people like the 101, but they are SUPER hard!
If you’re not sure, start with classic, it’s more common! But I always ride conical! Love the feel of em! More surface area touching the ground makes hem really stable!
Idk I think I'll stick with good old Bones. I've been skating bones for years now. I used to skate spitfire but no matter what they always Flatt spotted. bones for me have neverrrrr flat spotted. I powerslide almost every day

Usually you need a wheel kinda directed towards what you're riding. So if you're skating really rough ground, you want softer, if you're on perfect smooth ground you go really hard. That being said, you can ride any wheel anywhere, it just wont perform as well. The Spitfire classics would probably be the best bet if you want a wheel to ride anywhere! Hope this helps!

i always jump from spitfire f4 to bones stf, i dont have much preference but i do enjoy stf in street and spitfire in park.

Ive never had flat spot problems with any wheels ive ever used. Dont slide your board slide ways non stop and you wont have to worry about that.
As soon as F4s came out I loved them and stopped riding bones. But over the years I would occasionally buy Minilogo wheels when I was short on cash over F4s. Something about F4 99s feel so good. But now I ride for Minilogo and mostly skate their wheels and they are great but my last two sets of wheels are the bones stf 99s and to me the bones 99s are as a good as F4 99s.

I love my 101A 50mm Classics. Just a bit on the small side maybe. Personally prefer the colour of Spitfire Formula Fours too.

Whether your testing a wheel's hardness using an a, b, or d scale..i thought the max hardness for a wheel was 100!!
There is nothing over 100 on the A scale. A 101A is just marketing lies. They should just use the B scale like Bones.

Tiqew go for it, it's always good to try! Usually f4s don't flatspot quite as easily as spitfires old wheels. Hope this help!
