In this powerful video, we delve into the crucial aspects of bringing a friend and speaking up for yourself during a C&P exam. Discover the importance of having a trusted companion by your side and the obstacles you may encounter when trying to bring them into the examination room.
Our experienced Attorneys Melanie and Shelly share insightful advice on how to assertively advocate for the presence of your spouse, close family member, or a support person during the exam. They emphasize the significance of this person being a witness to your symptoms and severity, ensuring an accurate representation of your condition.
However, they acknowledge that it ultimately falls upon the examiner's discretion whether you can have a third party present. If denied, they suggest notifying your attorney, especially if memory and concentration issues are part of your claim. Your attorney may be able to address the VA and advocate for the inclusion of a third party to supplement your testimony.
They acknowledge that C&P exams can be challenging and frustrating for veterans, as examiners may not always accurately document what you share. To mitigate this, they recommend seeking a private examination from your own doctor or through trusted channels like their organization, where doctors can provide a thorough evaluation.
Even if the C&P exam yields unfavorable results or fails to capture the full extent of your condition, they advise against losing hope. You have the option to submit a statement to the VA, highlighting what was shared during the exam and providing the complete picture of your story. They reassure viewers that negative exams or incomplete documentation can be overcome by obtaining additional medical opinions and expert evaluations.
Don't let discouragement hinder your claim. Remember, their organization has a team of medical experts ready to assist, and they encourage veterans to persist and seek the support needed to ensure their stories are properly heard and acknowledged by the VA. Watch this insightful video now to learn how to navigate the C&P exam process and secure the benefits you deserve.

My PTSD exam lasted 10 minutes. She actually said to tell her in about a minute what are your most traumatic moments in your entire life.

Mine lasted over an hour. She wanted every detail and took thorough notes. She also went through my 1500 page medical records and buddy statements. She asked if I wanted to stay on the video while she went through my documents. It was for PTSD due to MST. I'm waiting to see how it went 🤞🏾

You're going to get it They may put you at 70% at first but go for 100 or TDIU. They broke you. Now they have to fix you or at least support you. Your comment stood out to m
e because I am PTSD and part of it was for MST. Yes it happens to men. Ask my wife how well we get along... I know how much it hurts inside and the damage it causes to all pertinent relationships. I'll be praying for you, personally, and praying the VA gives you 100% P&T the first go-round. GOD BLESS! 🙏

Question: What if the evaluation person refuses to hear or to view your medical evidence at the eval itself? What would you as it happen to me where the NP told me she did not want to see anything I brought because she had access to my medical records. Even after I walked it over to her and she handed it back. By the way, I was denied.

Immediately appeal. Hill and Pontoon has videos on how to do that. Hurry to get it started because of time constraints. Then, hire Hill & Ponton to handle your appeal for you. File complaints against the person who screwed up your C&P appointment. Find out everything you can about them, if they're qualified, how much experience they have, complaints, etc... Pass all that info to your attorneys. Don't let the claim die. You get back pay all the way to your original file date if you keep the original claim alive.

@@SpaceRanger187 I had one that was 1 hour, and the next one that was 35 minutes. The second one was the one that the VA finally took care of me.

@@MissionaryInMexico I just hate going to them over the same thing..I already see my psychiatrist..Having to tell the same story multiple times and relive the crap only makes me worse..I feel it's on purpose. Its in the medical records they have everything they need

@@SpaceRanger187 That's also the part I don't like, yet there are sadistic assholes that work for the VA who poke the bear, or even call us liars at the end of it.
