The vast majority of C&P exams ordered by the VBA only want to know one thing: "Was the medical condition(s) more likely than not caused by the member's time in military service?"
I've have had three C&P's and that was the only question they had to answer. Most were very short in duration and if I had brought medical info (I didn't) they wouldn't even bother to look at it.

Great information! I love how you present the info and I learned my lesson in April 2009 when the QTC C&P examiner asked me do I have any medical records."😢 I received an increase in 10% for one of my knees. I have learned so much more since then. The years have flown by.

Remember, each C&P examiner is different. I had a total of 10 C&P exams:
One examiner reviewed my medical notes but wouldn't keep a copy of them. Positive exam, received 70% for my feet.
Five examiners took a copy of relevant medical notes. One examiner praised me for bringing my notes (sleep study, rhinitis. sinusitis and X-ray of back). The VA rater granted me 50% for OSA, secondary to rhinitis, 0%, sinusitis, 30%, and 40% for my back.
I had one ACE (Acceptable Clinical Evidence) exam (records review) where I received 50% for migraines. No C&P exam because of COVID-19.
One examiner asked me if I had any medical records, and I did not bring any. I received an increase of 10%.
During two exams, I did not take any notes. One of them I received 30% and the other one I did not get an increase.

I have been advised to bring nothing but a picture ID. If you have records or documents , they should be already uploaded to your claim file.

Do I just mark time after my ACE ? Had it 16-April-24. The non-in person version of ACE type appointment/interview.

Always provide any documentation you have in a loose leaf cheap binder with your name and SS number on the outside and ask them to please enter into evidence the contents…always show them your copy and let them know how important it consider it to your claim…

Typically the medical records should be sent with the claim or received before the CP exam. Contracted examiners typically will not accept the evidence, or state that it is in the file. If you do show them something not in the file, make sure it is submitted timely after the exam. The submission of evidence not considered, should be reviewed at minimum in light of a VA opinion without reexamination if possible.

In 2019 I was awarded SMC-S, TDIU and P&T. I recently received a positive ruling from the BVA in which they basically stated that I will be granted 100% schedular starting back from my original date in 2013. However, they remanded the SMC part back to the RO for the period between my original filing date in 2013 up to the date in 2019 when I was granted SMC-S. They listed two things (SMC-S and A&A) in the decision letter. I'm guessing the RO office will take a look at to see which of the two I would qualify for the period between 2013 and 2019. My question is it more likely than not that I will have to go for another C&P exam? Does this also mean I have to wait until everything is adjudicated before I receive my back pay?

Congratulations! I hope you get your question answered. I had two BVA remands, and I did not get my back pay until after my C&P exams. God bless!

Is a radiologist’s report on an x-ray, CT scan, and MRI sufficient to bring to the C&P exam, or should I bring the images on CD disk?
