  • In this video we review the Nitron R1 shock on a Motocross track to put it through its paces and push it to it's limits, let us know what you think, and if you'd like to see cartridges made for the front to match let us know below, as Nitron have said they would with enough interest.
    In short, the difference is huge, do you agree?!
    Apologies for the sound issues...!

    Awesome! Hoping Nitron does make a front set. I'm right at 220 pounds, (100kg), and I'm looking at doing some overnight road trips and keep hearing I'll need a stiffer package for me and my gear. Great video fellas and take care. 🤘🍻

      It depends on what type of riding you will be doing.
      I'm at 120kg and the stock bike is just fine for road riding and off-road. OFC I'm not gonna go do jumps! Took it to an enduro track last week and no issues there either, no bottoms hit, it´s a lot about balancing your own weight to the obstacle in front of you. At some point, I will upgrade front and rear suspension for tougher terrain.

    For the price of this shock you can get a complete bilstein set for a 5th gen 4Runner.
    There is no excuse why motorcycle shocks cost even half as much as they do.

      While I agree with you they are definelty to expensive it could be a thing where the 4runner suspension is sold at say 10 units a day where the motorcycle suspension sells 1 a day. If they both have the same R&D costs then it's not a surprise the motorcycle suspension will cost more. Because the motorcycle suspension will cost more per unit to R&D. That being said motorcycle suspension should be way cheaper interms of manufacturing cause it's way smaller. Idk my position is that I'm not surprised it's that expensive, I think it could be cheaper but I also don't expect it to be alot cheaper

    This past week I took a test ride on a KTM 500 EXC. It felt so precise and easy to maneuver compared to my stock CRF300L that I've been considering selling my 300L, because I need a safe bike for treacherous, technical single track alone on steep mountains (I do nature photography). I assumed the precision and hence easier riding experience was all about the weight difference of 43 lbs. But, now I'm wondering if it was actually more about the suspension. Have you ridden KTM 500 EXC for comparison to your upgraded suspension CRF300L, or can you speculate otherwise?

      Yes, and have a 250 2 stroke SX ktm. Not sure if I'm answering your question, but in short the KTM is much more capable, no suspension change on the 300 will make it as good as the KTM. Something to consider might be how user friendly the 300 is to ride, but that's obviously dependant on your skill level. Your job sounds awesome!!

      3 times the price how can u even compare the 2 ..the 300l is all about value in an affordable package ur comparing a finely tuned race bike to a honda civic

    Great review guys. Did you notice a large difference in seat height? Mine rose 40mm from stock!

    • @DirtnTrail
      @DirtnTrail  3 роки тому

      Yes, does sit slightly higher, around 40mm for us too👍

    How do the adjustments work? Seems strange to me that the compression and rebound adjustments are linked.

    • @DirtnTrail
      @DirtnTrail  3 роки тому +1

      We found it fine for the type of riding we do, also helping you not get lost in settings often. You can add separate adjustment for around £400 on most shocks👍

    Nice one mate is it adjustable?

    • @DirtnTrail
      @DirtnTrail  3 роки тому

      Yes, but only one way, so compression and rebound together, which you can do easily when riding without any tools 👍

    does it have a remote reservoir,if not it will soon overheat on tough terrain??

      Hi
      This doesn’t have a remote reservoir.
