I have the Honda rally 250 all I did was put the YSS rear shock upgrade (no reservoir) $450 and Race tech front fork upgrade $220( adding second spring and better fork oil) Seat Concepts seat, rally pro grips. World of difference! Absorbs terrain nicely ( not bouncy) yet still comfy ( im 5’10” 200 lbs) cheers mates! Allan so cal USA
Premium quality 100%synthetic motorcycle engine oil, sparkplug upgrade, good chain lube, Dot 5 brake oil, (dust and water resistant grease for steering head bearings and swingarm bearings if possible) will help in a little bit of optimisation along with your default upgrade! Wish you a smooth ride!
It'd be great if, as you do all this, is to keep highlighting or mentioning what definitely does and doesn't fit or work that's already available from the CRF250L. There's so much in the ways of accessories out there for this bike, it's a little tempting to get some in the hope it might fit the 300. And the "near enough is good enough" accessories, like the CB125R/300R screen protector, at least that's low cost and sorts it out until one becomes available. Thanks for all the tips and advice, from Australia.
ALL dirt bike manufacturers should sell their new bikes WITH "tailored spring rates" (suspension), swapped for correct rates to suit the buyer's weight by the dealer's mechanics upon purchase BEFORE leaving the dealership, PERIOD! It SHOULD NOT be an added expense simply because you don't fall into the manufacturers spring rates for an 85kg rider!
Cheers fella’s, looks to be quite a bit of accessories to purchase to fit these particular models! here in oz still waiting on the 300’s to hit our shores, definet consider some of the options! great info 👍 cheers
Can someone explain to me how braided hoses would avoid going across the cockpit? They still need to reach across to the other side and be flexible due to being mounted to the brake on the fork ... I don't get it. 😕
Idk if i missed it but if you are looking for more torque wouldn't a regear make sense? I regeared my Grom -1 in the front and it made a huge difference i can imagine it would make the 300l feel way better
I think they just like to bolt crap on. I would re-gear myself with a bigger rear sprocket and longer chain if needed. Gears and suspension are my main things if needed and a crash bar for any hard riding if I decide to do that. Should be getting mine in the next week or two
Thanks for a comprehensive list of modifications. This was very helpful. I am looking to do most, or all, of these mods you mention. As I am in the U.S., there may be a difference in parts availability between here and Europe. Happy Trails
I have upgraded My crf300l yss shock and spring to match my weight and bags and front Spring and 15 w oil in an opposite fork from firefox racing in Yorkshire it rides off-road so well now think a small screen for the bigger trips might be a good call
Forgot to mention tail tidy , Steg pegs , front suspension work like progressive springs , a fantastic replacement High temp brake fluid is castrol reactive Dot 4 ( gives heaps better feel ) screen options, Power Commander better tuning) and wider foot pegs as well .
Hi, At first thank you for the video. Have a great and large trip in mind to Mongolia and back. Have a KTM 1190R . Owning it for four years. And it is a great machine. Did some long travels with it. But it is heavy. Riding alone and in places where nobody comes i have always feel something in the back of my mind that when hurt after a crash i would not be able to put it back on his feet. Therefore i am buying the CRF 300 L or the CRF 300 rally. I think the last one would fit my needs the best. It has a larger tank and when on tarmac it does a better job then the L. But what about the suspension ? On such trips you need luggage. It will be around 40 till 50 kg. Have been riding with hard luggage all my life and for the CRF 300 i will be switching over to soft luggage. I am getting older. Can the original spring handle the extra luggage or is this a no go and do you need to upgrade the suspension ? Just have a couple of months to realise this before i take off. Somewhere in September and i have managed to take 3 months off work. I am so looking forward to it. With the KTM I could go tomorrow but i think that the whole trip will be much more fun with a light bike. There is no need to go over 150 Kph on such a trip.
It would have been nice if they actually included that on the bike when you buy it.... I mean this is the second generation..... I owned a 250L for years and rode three LAB2Vs.... was hoping this one was a little more off road oriented.... guess will keep riding my 250x
Hello from Western Canada. A nice video. I was hoping for links to your suggested items. I have a 2018 CRF 250 Rally.... do you know if the 250 Rally rear sprocket will fit the 300 Rally? Thanks.
@@c-note4146 Well Canada will have both models of the 300 when they arrive in about 4 weeks. I do not know where you are and what models are available in your market. You actually never stated such. ; ]

I know I am hitting this video a tad late, but I would love to see you guys explore the GCAG (Green Chille Adventure Gear) soft rack as a luggage option for the crf300l
I am religiously following your new content since my 300L is on its way, a couple of weeks shy from delivery. One question though, most folks opt for CR High bend on fatbars. I am 6'2'', and have a chance to get Protaper EVO's, Henry/Reed is currently available and (somewhat) similar to CR High. Would that be a good option given the ergonomics per your research so far? Thanks.
I'm 6ft and would be fine with that setup, but is a very personal choice. Consider the risers or clamps you'll buy as these will raise the bars anyway, and the difference in bend may mean they are more swept back and/or stuck up on the ends.
@@lukefish7562 Awesome! Trouble is I can't go to a store and try several bends out, everything has to be ordered so it's mostly reading and guessing. Most folks in the ballpark of our height went for CR High. If I learn something more I will post it.
Great list! Will actually be selling my Indian Scout in order to buy one of these in a few weeks so my wife can learn to ride on something more forgiving. Looking forward to more videos!
Just curious, I'm considering getting one of the CRF 300l or the DRZ 400sm, and was wondering if you are able to get tires on the CRF300 that are similar to the drz-400sm?
Is the suspension tight on the 2021 CRF300L like a dirt bike or does the bike lower some when sat on? I'm concerned about the seat height. I have a 30in inseam but weight 180lbs.
I buy me the Honda crf300l before 4 Month, it's a beautiful bike, but what I not like the bike is a little bit to heavy with 150 kilogram in my opinion. Number two is, the bike could have more power for 300cm3...I miss this. I change the exhaust pipe too, because the original pipe is a disaster of sound and design and it's heavy too. Next bike will be a two stroke.
I don’t get it. Everybody praising this bike as a jewel, and then the list of the things to change starts. The suspension is quite a fundamental part of a bike, the sentences “this is a great bike” and “you should change the suspension” don’t really belong together. Other bikes are put down for far less.

Call Race Tech in orange county. For my 250 all I did was add a spring and upgrade the oil
Is the shock fully adjustable?
The YSS in the rear is ( Non oil reserve model) Wonderful shock

Crash bars?
please do not use those filters. They let in anything the size of sand and smaller.

3 gallon tank ?
Hi
We aren’t aware of larger tanks being produced as of yet.
Helicopter tape for frame and screen protection
Its not a TFT screen, Its an LCD.
USB charger should be towards the top everyone uses one as a GPS or just as a phone.... it's just important on any bike these days!!!
Suspension should be top of the list this thing will bottom out over a pebble. I wish they would of fixed this it's the biggest problem with the bike.
We will be fixing that imminently... Stay tuned.

Why do they make such big ugly tail fins for these bikes? They even do it to sport bikes. The first mod everyone does is take that thing off.
