@@americancynic I'll take Rush and Fly by Night over Caress of Steel any day. For years Hemispheres was my favourite Rush album. From the last 30 years of their career it's mostly Counterparts and Clockwork Angels for me, everything else is a mixed bag. I'm not too keen on 2112, but I love Farewell to Kings. In fact, my favourite era is late 70s/early 80s (say between Farewell to Kings and Grace Under Pressure). Does all of this mean I'm "into the newer stuff"?
Crushed about Neil. I've seen RUSH in concert countless times. The heart and soul of a very unique band that were each MASTERS of their instruments. And Neil's lyrics...what can you say?
I had a boyfriend back in the early 80s he played the drums . He loved Rushed. This is ome of the songs he played to all the time. love this. So happy I found it finally.
Tonia Broadway but I bet you didn't dance along to it when he played it. You know, on account of You dance to this. I'm kidding, come on I'm a kidder, stop breakin my balls over here!
I close my eyes & listen to this album, Caress of Steel, the fantasy Rush offered me is where i go..... i drift off to the story being told thru music & lyrics,....am I not really there? i'm not here..Thank you Rush,....Geddy,Neil,Alex you took me there,&... still do !
While many were into their bigger albums back then, I was one of the few that bought this back when it came out and listened to it constantly. Great fucking tune!
Listening to this again. This is the dream as told by kids in their 20's. I think the album "Clockwork Angels" tells the same story after a life of living it.
What a memorizing song. Big Rush fan. What a great group, the days we went to concerts with friends and had great memories. This one's for the Cedar Crest Crew in Vineland NJ
This brings tears to my eyes. How fast life goes by. One moment I am listening to this at a friend’s house in high school, the next moment I am old.
I grew up as a huge rush fan. This album is so underrated.
Rush's first draft.
I grew up as an average Rush fan. This album deserves most of the criticism it gets.
COS is a great album
zavinullava You’re probably into the newer stuff, right?

" In the Valley" makes me cry every time I hear it. Beautiful. The whole album is brilliant. Totally underappreciated.
Absolute class

Sometimes criticised, Caress of Steel remains my favourite Rush album. Which, naturally, means my favourite music album.
Agreed.
No One At the Bridge is pure genius; very beautiful.
MadameRevok13 Agreed...
Nothing else in rock and roll compares.
THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST MOMENT OF NEIL PEART ON DRUM...RIP ABSOLUTE GENIUS!
One of the greatest drum solos ever hands down.
Remember seeing Rush on Don Krishner' s Rock Circus back in the 70'S???
I must too old where are the older Rush fans?
My favorite. Perfect balance of musicianship, concept, emotion, and intellect. Their masterpiece, in my opinion.
My favorite album of all time . AWESOME
Yes, AllMusic gave this album two stars in a review. Yes, I don't really care about what music critics have to say anyway.
I always thought Geddy did a great job at No One at the Bridge. You really feel his torment.
Beautiful album
i said it 983476 times but ill say it again! best band ever! send me to space everytime .
Such a dark record, perfect for wintery dreamy days.
Or 3am with headphones after a big night out.
Rush is probably my 2nd or 3rd favourite band, they know how to pass time. You need to listen to this start to end, no breaks.
This reminds me so much of being a young kid with headphones on.. just absolute bliss ❤
this song is simply amazing. i love rush's songs that tell a story. 2112. The fountain of Lamneth. so on.
The Down The Tubes Tour. My favorite RUSH album of all time.

The one constant with RUSH..... those flipping drums 🥁 holy cow batman
Rip Neil. How does the milk of paradise taste?
These words have enlightened me in so many ways. Thank you,Neil Peart!
Indeed, so underrated
the best lyricist and drummer of all time and this early album from rush proves it. fantastic!
One of my favorite albums.

4:44 According to Rush’s website, these are this section’s lyrics:
Stay! Go!
Work! No!
Think! Live!
Earn! Give!
Wait! Fight!
Laugh! Right!
Listen!!
grew up on this.thank you for the ride.a better band there might n ever be.
This album is a masterpiece, and the fact that it was looked at so poorly by the mainstream is typical.
Longing to break free of these illuminating rocky chains😔😫
RIP Neil Peart
LISTEN!!
Happy 49th Anniversary Caress of Steel (Sept 24th 2024)...never gets old❣❣❣
Awesome drum solo! Neil is a drum god.
Master timekeeper was the last title I heard... but Drum god works... :)
any other band or lyricist ever use half the words Neil uses? much less "Lamneth." haha!! speaks volumes at such a young age.
Rush created Progressive Metal
I'm listening to No One at the bridge, as I work on my boat
Happy International Rush Day (21/12) thanks for posting (and for not being as quiet as the other fountain on YT)
forever Rush
one of their best
Ithink it says the wind is bitching violently. Adds flair
I forgot about this tune. I also forgot how much it sounds like Dream Theater's opening to their Scenes From A Memory....or the other way around.
It's the other way around. lol
In Didacts and Narpets, it's NOT "stay or fight! What's right?" It's "Left? Right? Wrong right!"
Agreed...."Listen!"
Excellent. Thanks for uploading.
LISTEN!

@@dorian2112 well put
@@dorian2112 interesting, I always that Didacts was the made up noun form of someone being didactic.
