Point of Note: If corporations are NOT persons, they cannot be taxed, the stockholders would then need to pay the tax, and then the government would get less money from them.
Just try to tax a piece of real property - cannot be done - you have to tax the owner. A corporation is one of the few pieces of property that can generate income separate from the owner.

When I was younger, I always wondered how one news company would know the stories of another news company? Isn't the stories they release what sets them apart and keeps them competitive? Also, the number 3 seems to be the magic number when it comes to all big corporations. Yes, but cases like that are difficult to win. You have to be able to prove what was said is not true, and you have to prove that damage was actually done because of those statements, and be able to assign a value to the damages.

Too many people on UA-cam think one can say to a judge “Dey lied. Gibs $100,000,000 munnies” after seeing headlines of defamation/libel lawsuits with several millions of dollars on the line, but that’s a gross oversimplification of the nature of such suits.
You have to prove that they intentionally lied with malice and dereliction of the truth, that this isn’t a matter of personal opinion, that the defendant is the origin of the defamatory lie, etc. amongst the other points you listed.
If anyone manages to prevail in a defamation/libel suit against a news outlet, that means that the offending conduct was so egregious and blatant to the point where there isn’t a shred of evidence that suggests the outlet had any good, honest intentions behind their reporting. Our freedom of speech might be under attack in this country, but the freedom of the press is still respected in the US (thanks, in large part, due to large corporate media outlets having the ability to hire an army of lawyers to defend them).
