@@andrewgreenwood9068They could have kept multiple varieties of potatoes instead of just trying to clone one over and over. Having a more diverse gene pool always helps against disease and in case one variety fails, you always have another one.

@@andrewgreenwood9068 That's an entirely seperate issue. Regardless of how the Brits would have acted, the potato harvest would still have been devastated. Keeping multiple varieties as a back up is always a good idea. Look at bananas for example. Nowadays we only really commonly eat the Cavendish variety, while neglecting others that would diversify and strengthen the gene pool so we could actually fight the Panama disease that made the Cavendish big in the first place (We had to replace the Gros Michel bananas that btw taste much better).

ok so now that the 2020 national spanish exam is over and we can discuss the content, i literally only got a question right because rt mentioned getting a face mask at the blue lagoon in Iceland.. We were supposed to answer weird questions that you wouldn’t really know the answer to unless you read a paragraph in Spanish, but this particular paragraph was super confusing so I skipped it and went straight to the question and it was like “what's this place in Iceland known for?” and I saw the answer about mud masks and was immediately like thank gOlly I watched this Irish man take buzzfeed quizzes the other day

Just a heads up from someone who has been to Iceland. The blue lagoon is like super expensive unless you like go in 1 hour before closing, there are other hot springs you can bathe in all over Iceland even at no cost. Just go to blue lagoon and walk along the footpath outside to see the kind of environment then go bathe somewhere else.
