  • Come ride along with me as we cruise through the streets of Atlanta, The truck in the video is a 2018 Isuzu NPR-HD 5.2L diesel, sourced from Ryder with a 16ft box. The exhaust/engine brake is on, but it isn't really loud or strong. Let me know what you all think and what truck should be featured next! Poor man's travel trailer tow rig. These things used are a great value for the money. Especially considering the prices of used pickup trucks!

    My job went from UD2600 box trucks to Hino268 box trucks, because Nissan no longer makes UDs in the US, this video really makes me miss driving the UDs "cabover driving position" they were very quiet, drove like a car and had cab air suspension, but all in all the Hino's are pretty sweet too.

    I was curious to see how they cruise on the highway and how quiet/noisy it would be. Thanks.

      They actually are pretty quiet in the cab in the highway! I was very surprised while operating it. Its not the smoothest ride with the short wheelbase, but handling wise its nice on the highway.

    Japan got a 4 cylinder diesel that are more powerful than a V8 Powerstroke 7.3! Weird stuff lol.

      it's weird dude it's almost like one is 20+ years newer than the other, stupido

      Yeah, technology has come a long way! Detroit Diesel has the DD5 which puts out a lot of power for a 4 cylinder as well.

    • @jaythrash8804

      And they are also cheaper used!

      In a more correct statement. Big 4 cylinder Diesel are just some way better than V8 Gas. (Because Torque)
      V8 Engine does have a Good sound though.

    Cool video but I never liked the look of those baby cabovers lol

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 років тому +3

      Yeah they certainly have an odd look and aren't the most visually appealing. I like the look of some of the cabovers from Europe and Australia, like Scania. The Japanese aren't after looks though, they just care that the job gets done and its reliable.

      crazyjdkid I agree with you on that, but that's mainly the American side of the Japanese market. Just look around on youtube a bit, there's tons of vids out there on Japanese trucks and boy, they are decorated out the butt. Mostly showing the individuality of each driver and where the come from.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 років тому +2

      True! They do that in a lot of other countries I guess! You see a lot of the decked out rigs in India and Mexico. I guess they decorate them because they look weird! But to each his own, can't yuck another persons yum.

      crazyjdkid yeah yesterday I was on the road over in Indiana and saw a brand new Freightliner Argosy cabover semi. Very rare to see a new cab over the market for them is pretty slim. They’re a thing of the past but to see a new one was honestly pretty cool as ugly as I found it.

      It was most likely a glider truck! They are a treat to see, a lot of moving companies used them for the longest time.

    So do you have a Class D license or what

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 років тому +2

      I have a Class D, Class V and a Forklift license. I am getting around to the Class A, just need the time and vehicle. Thanks for watching!

      crazyjdkid what in the world is a class V ? I haven’t heard of that before.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 років тому +2

      It's a license for water Vessels like ships, boats, yachts, jet skis etc.

    • @SilverSurfer17
      @SilverSurfer17 6 років тому

      crazyjdkid very cool, I need myself one of those someday. Although I don’t have access to much water nearby, it’d be nice to have though.

      crazyjdkid sidenote, if you ever plan on driving semi for a job, your best bet for a Class A is school. As awful as it sounds it’s the best way just due to getting enough practice and learning backing techniques and tricks to help.
