This is good information and honest, I started 8 months ago, left a good job I regret it. All my friends cashed in and got out. Those you tube guys lured me in with false information. Hotshot is slow now. I am trying to weather the storm. I would add have other income coming in, meaning part time jobs to supplement income with some money coming in to off set the slow times.
I tell people if they are taking $1000 or more home a week... just stay at your job
I make 600 a week I have 10k saved for a down for a truck and I’m getting a hand down trailer from my uncle. I work like 40 hours every week idk if it’s worth it or not I don’t make enough for the stuff that I do but I also don’t want to invest in it if it won’t be worth it. What do you think ?
@flowerboikenney9243 are you single? Have family? Like to drive? Can manage being away from home? Honestly I would save the money. If you can get the truck with zero down, get it. It's a long term investment... you will probably start seeing $20,000 or more months after a year. And that's because you will start to good at partialling loads. And this takes time because you start to learn the market. As in who ships what. What lines stay busy. How to manage you time. How to troubleshoot breakdowns. Etc. This is a full time gig. Don't expect to work 8 hour days. Expect 12 to 14 hrs days. 5 to 6 days a week. It's tough. Hotshoting isn't for everyone. Sleeping in truck. Having to find where to park every night. Eating truck stop food. Note: 20k is gross, expect a 3rd of that is take home. Another 3rd for business. Remaining 3rd for taxes. You pay 15.6% for ss and medicaid alone plus your earn income..
@flowerboikenney9243 don't get a chevy.
@@christopherarrington7277is ram better and what year do u recommend
@flowerboikenney9243 do what you want brother. No one on UA-cam can advise you on what to do in life! Just don't over extend yourself brother that's the main thing
What boards do you use cuz its very rare i see anything $2.25 or more i would say the average is .80c a mile
Do u lease whats needed?
How do I get to lease on to you
Thanks for the update. I was just wondering if I was able to use my 36 foot enclosed goose neck trailer to haul anything up to 16k GVWR
A 36 ft enclosed trailer. I don't think I've seen one of them! Why did you get enclosed over a flatbed? I'd use and enclosed for moving ppl locally! You can make 1500 in a day easy doing that. Get on Dat and you will fond loads if you got your overpriced commercial insurance already
Are you currently letting someone lease under your Company ?
35+5 with mega Ramps and air ride or a step deck with air ride ?
If there are better rates for a hs in the area you have your semi, why don't you book the hs load?
I dispatch myself and truckload rates for a hs aren't as good as partials.
I took some grass to Aspen from Denver for 900 pretty cool load
NO ppl hotshot trucking isn't dead lmao!!! That's like asking if trucking is dead! There will aways be a need for hot shot drivers no matter how many of these videos come out!!!
Did you watch the video?
Its not going anywhere but its def dead 47cents a mile 15k pounds 35ft "partial" is absolute bullshit when youve worked direct and know damn well the shipper is baying 3$+ a mile

I had to end the video after dude just tool a deep breath and slurped his tongue.. did you used to lick envelopes for a living? Count alot of money?
Haha, nah I just get bad indigestion
Hi I’m looking to get into hotshoting and I need help and where and how to start. I’ll be a non cdl hotshot if u could possibly help me with some info on just starting out that’s would be greatful. Maybe we can exchange email or info like that to discuss everything to start this business
You would be alot better just getting a regular job. There is way too much competition, too many drivers and not many loads
10 grand per yr INS start with that. Best have dam deep pockets just to start.
