    Agree on all points. I’ll say another very good perk to the cars is the fact that you’re not restricted by “shipping/recieving dock hours”. I really like this video! Thanks!

    If your local/regional hauling then vehicles are better. If you wanna go get the bag & Earth is your turf then gooseneck flatbed (air-ride preferred) is where it’s at.

    Great info. this is not an industry where you can be home every night if you want to do 8 to 10k per week. won't happen. you gotta go over the Road. We're leasing flatbed hotshot owner ops onto our authority.

    I’m looking into hot shot to control what I do, I’m a tractor trailer 9 car hauler and it’s fun. I’m just tired of not controlling my hours and maybe have a 3 day weekend if I can afford it. I know once you pay off the ram or whatever you driving you can make good money and have off lol. Also I work for a company that’s local but I can’t work during the day like I want also I want to bring my wife with me or dog for the day 😂 have fun driving around you know!!

    Hey man! Awesome points for both sides in the video. All extremely valid points. I’ve been in the hotshot business for a little over a month now. I have years of experience in the industry working with my dad. But this is my first time going out on my own and running. About how long on average would you say does it take to start seeing a profit after everything is all said and done? I feel like I’ve already made a decent amount of money for the month but have absolutely nothing to show for it at the moment.

    I already order a 5500 crew cab 60CA chassis, and I’m in the process of getting an step deck the SDX216 to be exact, but I’m not sure about the 90 degree turns if I will hitting the cab with the trailer, the step deck corners are cut but anyway I want to ask you since your trailer is similar somehow to the one that I’m planning to buy, thanks.

    I saw your other vehicle about GVWR 👍🏿 I appreciate but what if you had a Ram 2500 GVWR 10k and a trailer that is36 38ft GVWR 14k wouldn’t that be a good setup and legal for non-CDL

    • @boutthattrucklife5805

      Call weight station in your state and ask officer. But the rule would suggest you would need a CDL

      If the trailer your pullin is over 10 k then you need a CDL .

    • @beenheredoneit.4381
      @beenheredoneit.4381 3 роки тому

      I think if you carry over 26001 pounds you need cdl. If you equipment with vehincle is close to that weight you can be over the limit once you put 2 cars. That's usual how cdl works as I know it, by weight. But if you truck is 10k and trailer loaded as long add your under 26001. Also note that I think off it. You can't be over 40 ft either with truck and trailer. So all has to be considered.

    • @oldudesrule
      @oldudesrule 2 роки тому

      Gvw is exact weight of vehicle or trailer. Gvwr is possible weight of the vehicle or trailer. NON-CDL requires that the total combination be 26,000 or less. A truck can have a gvwr of 10,000, but only weigh 7,500. The trailer (I believe non-cdls are usually 14,000 gvwr) might weigh 8 or 9,000. So you could haul 9500 lbs (hypathetically). Truck and trailer weights will vary as well as what other personal equipment you carry. From what I have seen, most dually with a 14,000lb (gvwr) trailer are good to go.
