    I lived in Lviv for 7 years. You covered almost all of the bases! It was especially nice to see you stop at Stryiskiy Park as most tourists aren't even aware of it. The one hidden gem that you missed was the Yard of Lost Toys. That's where I always took visitors.

    I'm back in Lviv on Thursday, only for 1 night unfortunately, so i'll have to use my time wisely. You video was a timely reminder of some options.
    Was surprised not to see Kryivka restaurant on the list as that's an interesting place.

    I’m in Lviv right now & actually followed some of your recommendations that appealed to me & I was not disappointed.
    It was refreshing to see a legitimate video of ‘things to do’ (from someone who has actually been there a few times) vs. the usual ‘things to do’ videos from -arguably more well known travel vloggers (no offence) -who just stumble around town on their first visit and CALL IT ‘things to do’, when in actuality, their videos are just ‘some things we did’.
    Good for you man. Even your inaugural Lviv video was entitled something like ‘my trip to Lviv’ rather than passing it off as some kind of things to do guide.

    • @TheWonderingEnglishman
      @TheWonderingEnglishman  5 років тому

      David - thanks for your kind message and great that you followed up on some of the things :)
      Yes I’m a very small travel Vlogger compared to most on this platform. Talking of stumbling it was something I found myself doing for personal reasons I didn’t realise this many people would start watching the videos (yes I also appreciated my numbers are low compared to the majority but far larger than I expected).
      I’m due to go back to Lviv in May so if you have any fresh recommendations from your recent trip it’s always appreciated :)

    It is curious that a lot of the architecture in the city looks Roman inspired, some of the key buildings you've shown, statues of roman gods, as well as the lions and fountains. I mentioned under another Lviv video that you could be in a piazza in Rome) Since freemasonry was born out of guilds of stone masons in medieval times perhaps the masons coming from elsewhere to build the city brought their masonic ideas and beliefs which you are seeing a trace of here. The secret passwords to enter bars and symbology you mentioned are all part of this) As a related aside I was invited to join a masonic lodge in my mid 20s but as I was more interested in meeting young attractive women whom would not be in attendance there I declined)))

    • @TheWonderingEnglishman
      @TheWonderingEnglishman  2 роки тому +1

      A lot of Masons I think have passed through the city of Lviv and I reckon many still reside there. Beautiful buildings everywhere - I was asked a couple of times in the distant past but also like you never got involved in the Masons - pretty much why I'm an outsider and not on the inside when it comes to decisions for the society around us.

    Interestingly you didn't add your movie clips in the video - was this a one off? or are you going to add movie clips in the future? Also the book market in Lviv - are they're all in Ukrainian and Russian, or were there some in English? I wasn't particular keen on the spanking restaurant, I'm not sure I would prefer to get smacked after eating a meal and drinking large amounts of alcohol, so not something I would be particular keen on. Interestingly you have a new girlfriend in the video. I'm guessing she's Ukrainian. I remembered your Berlin video which had your old girlfriend, I'm guessing she was German. I like this, new countries, new girlfriends !! Coming back to the serious point, Ukraine doesn't catch the eyes of many tourists around the world, compared to western and central Europe. Is it because flights are expensive to Ukraine or is it the Ukrainian government are not putting enough efforts in attracting tourism around the world. Also what made you decide to go to Ukraine, was it something you saw on the internet, that made you come, or somebody told you about the country.

    • @TheWonderingEnglishman
      @TheWonderingEnglishman  5 років тому

      I figured this time i would try without the movie clips :)
      It was very hard to resist :)
      Just trying different things and also trying to make the videos shorter ! Even though this video is still x4 the length of a usual UA-camr video :)
      The industry standard is usually 10mins.
      It was more of a spanking bar - I cant say I ate there! One drink was enough!
      Perpetually single really - no ties anywhere at least for now! Ukraine is becoming more and more popular by the year - I think it’s simply not as popular as you would think it could be simply because their Government doesn’t advertise as much as others. If anything it will go the ways of many other places and probably become over run by tourists soon. The way of the World!
