@@SpaceCattttt They just recently reformed for a short tour, I've heard they have Scott Ian from Anthrax playing and the great Dave Lombardo of Slayer and Fantomas fame on drums, but Patton, Dunn and Spruance are playing under the name. Their first show on the tour sounds like a brilliant troll, everyone went to hear their...er...hits I guess, as much as Bungle has "hits", but they played the entirety of The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny, one of their early demos, and some off kilter covers. My great regret is that they're playing a handful of shows, none of which are anywhere in Canada where I live...I would kill to see this band live...
@@andrewhussey4538 According to Wikipedia, they're only playing 3 shows? I don't know, but a tour would be better!! Lots of people get pissed off when they pay to go and see a show, and the HITS aren't played. But come on! If you want to hear the hits, then FNM will play them for you. If you want to see Patton and Co, then the point is that you never know what you're going to get. Like fucking chocolate, Forrest! I went to see Fantomas and people were booing because......it was too experimental and not catchy enough. Same thing when I saw Blur! They refused to play any of their singles that night, and the pitchforks soon came out in force! And I was like, the fuck, you have the bloody hits on the albums. Here's an opportunity to hear something new and unique to this night, and you choose to get pissed off about it? Idiots!
@@SpaceCattttt Yeah, the same happened with Dream Theater ages back, they had a gig somewhere and used (if memory serves) the anniversary or something to play Metallica...I think it was the entirety of Master of Puppets because it was such a foundational album for the members of the band and all sorts of people got really upset. Most were cool with it, hearing virtuoso level musicians playing stuff that moved them when they were young as a point of respect to the band they loved and people were upset because "I paid to see a dream theater show, not a cover band". Really don't get the Fantomas thing...what the hell are you even GOING to a Fantomas show if you are bothered by experimental music? That's pretty much their entire schtick, if someone wants to hear catchy songs with Patton go see a FNM or Peeping Tom show, but if you know the band enough to buy tickets and then get upset when they play like Fantomas, what the hell...that's like paying to go see a BB King show and then getting pissed off because it's all blues music, that's what he did. I'd absolutely kill to see Fantomas, I've been playing guitar for about 25 years and I can't describe how difficult it would be playing a whole set of songs with that level of variation...they're even more off the wall in some ways than Bungle, flipping styles mid-song on a dime multiple times over, keeping all that straight in your head is just amazing, one person losing their place for a moment would throw the whole thing off, you'd need to know your songs and scales inside out and backwards and just be incredibly well rehearsed or it would be a nightmare. I'm hoping this mini-tour is in anticipation of something longer, I was a bit young when Bungle was around, there was nothing like what we have today where I can follow a band and be notified right away when a show came around, you just would stumble across something in Kerang magazine or on a flyer announcing a show if you were lucky, or by word of mouth and then pray you could get your parents to pay for a ticket, that it wasn't sold out and then get to the show so I just never had the luck...but if they decide to do a full tour then I am so fucking on that when they come here
I lived in Eureka {Nor-Cal} for many years, Mike P. used to work at the gas station in Arcata, anyways...weirdly wonderful strange house parties were had with Mr. B~

I saw a Top Ten list of lead singers who can "sing you to sleep and scare you to death" and Mike Patton was definitely on that list. A truly underrated voice.
Mr. Bungle were extremely inspired by an underground British band called Cardiacs. (Not The Cardiacs just Cardiacs). They were described as their own style of music called Pronk meaning progressive punk (a term they rejected.) but they were easily this insane and weird if not even far weirder. You can’t possibly imagine unless you’ve heard a bunch of their music. Mike Patton was a big fan. I adore Cardiacs.
Got to see them once, in 92 NYE Primus, Mr.Bungle , and the Melvins. I think I remember Mike drinking piss out of his shoe? Amazing, even held up to Ministry, Helmet, Sepultura, a week earlier on dec.23.
Your reaction is exactly what is to be expected. lol This particular album is a crazy mix of jazz, metal, rap, video game and pinball sound effects, human noises, movie clips, porno lines and sounds ("Girls of Porn" will blow your mind) and more. The album was inspired by a comic book called "Cotton Candy Autopsy" (go look up that bit of insanity some time)...and the whole album is intended to have a circus vibe. It is essentially a way for the artists to just experiment and try really out there musical ideas. You have an incredibly open mind when it comes to music, and that is the perfect place to be at when listening to Bungle. An open mind and a sense of humor...and let them take you on a crazy musical journey.
That one and "Flashback" from the same show (it was on an Australian tv show, iirc). That version of "Flashback" is one of those songs/performances I desperately wish I'd written/performed.
MIke Patton is da man! He's the singer for another band that you did a reaction video on Faith No More). He has the widest vocal range of any rock / pop singer (six octaves)! He's just an incredibly talented wild man with a broad range of musical styles. Also, he's a SF dude.
What you listened to was a band way ahead of thier time, with the freedom to blaze thier own trail...this band gave birth to bands like limp bizkit, korn, slipknot, lincoln park and more. Very powerful, but smart enough to stay under the cookie-cutter radar of everything that followed because it was never about being mainstream, but about undermining the BS pop culture corporate garbage everyone is used to. And more! Check out the faith no more cover songs video!
other good ditties: Chemical marriage, Sweet charity, Desert search, Carry stress in the jaw, The air-conditioned nightmare, Pink cigarette. Their second album is the most creative thing I've ever heard
Here are some Bungle tracks you should check out: The Air Conditioned Nightmare off of California, Squeeze Me Macaroni off of their self titled, and Desert Search For Techno Allah off of Disco Volante.
Was introduced to mr. bungle in back in high school 93’ by a friend because how much I loved Faith No More’s “angel dust”... he said this was Patton just before he joined Faith No More... I freakin fell in love with this disc... the music was insane, heavy yet melodic, the lyrics were eye openingly pervert and deranged... Girls of Porn (the following track) I could only listen through headphones cuz there’s was no way my parents would approve . Mr.. Bungle paved the way for Korn, slipknot, system of the down, incubus and many others, they were years ahead of their time!
OMG I cant believe you did this song! Wow thanks! "Dead Goon" is another good one or "Girls of Porn" but all their transitions dont make much sense without the other songs around them. Your reaction was hilarious. Its like getting hit with a musical truck
I'm 42, and I've had to buy several copies of this album because I kept wearing them out. It's beyond bizarre to see Mr. Bungle getting this attention all of a sudden. You're not the only one reacting to this lately. Weird wild stuff.
Your point about this song, being the same singer as "Easy," you get it man. That is spot on. That is one of the many amazing things about Patton is the dynamic, the diversity, the eclecticism. It's not just him though, it's all these band members too. It's really quite staggering. Also, what you said about does it just go "deeper down the rabbit hole?" Yes, in a way. The more you listen, the more you know what to expect, the more it becomes clear that what just sounds like random chaos at first, is really quite laid out and deliberate and orchestrated. And Awesome.
Mr. Bungle is crazy but it's so incredibly technical... I don't think people realize how good you have to be to play this stuff... I've never had the pleasure to see them in concert but I hear it sounds exactly like this...
Same. In fact, first time I ever heard Bungle was at a live show when they were touring this album. All I knew about them before that was that Mike Patton wore a Mr. Bungle t-shirt in FNM's "Epic" video and I read somewhere that Bungle was his band in high school. I had no idea what to expect and that show blew my mind WIDE open. Since then, I've seen them (and Faith, Fantomas, etc) a bunch of times and have been lucky enough to chat briefly with Mike on a couple of occasions after shows. I'm sure I came off as an idiot and asked some dumb questions but he was super cool. Favorite musician of all time, hands down.
Also you check out his other projects like Fantomas and Peeping Tom, They have some awesome original songs +cape fear/across 110th st. covers. . Absolutely Top Notch!!

I think the story is that Patton wrote it after losing his wallet
@@cosmokane9871 no it's about stds
love Bungle so much. your reaction to it is great too. I could binge on your Bungle reacts all day! Goodby Sober day next please.
Ya totally gotta do "Book of the Month" from Lovage: Music to make love to your old lady by (ft. Mike Patton & Jennifer Charles).
Ooooh yeah! Let's keep this rabbit hole going! Lovage is my jam too!
I prefer Anger Management, but all Lovage is love.
That whole album is great.
I got hooked on Mr Bungle back in like 2014 and still love them so much, their music for some reason helps my adhd.
Some Mr Bungle? Lol looking forward to this reaction
LOVE IS A FIST! One of there BEST songs. IMO
Great reaction! Interesting and great to see people Open mindedly reacting to Mr. bungle I was raised on them as a kid first hearing them when I was in high school in the early 90s Mike Patton and Mr. bungle are definitely one of a kind!
JAMAL, , check out another Patton band PEEPING TOM "We're Not Alone" from thrRollins Show. See him work his version of a pop band. Also PEEPING TOM doing "Desperate Situation" from Marvin Gaye live in Prague. You will Love It!!
I love that album. Although i still can't figure out the lyrics at the end of How U Feelin.
This! Now I'm gonna revisit some PT myself. Great project.
Across 110th St. Ain't bad neither
In a similar vein is Mike Patton and Fantomas covering Al Green's "Simply Beautiful."
We're Not Alone is my favorite Peeping Tom song!
MR BUNGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine Mike Patton on Vocals, Les Claypool on Bass, Buckethead on Guitar, and Tim "Herb" Alexander on Drums. IN ONE BAND!!!!
Id rather have dean ween on guitar but mainly because ive always wanted dean and les to do something together
Mr. Primushead?
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The look on your face when he started singing redundant! holyshit! I'm in tears over here. You need to do the rest of the album on video too
Pleeeeease react to Girls of Porn at some point.
GuyWithACamera23 Hell yes.
Right! The bass on that song.
SIX! SIX! SIX!
He has to be clean I doubt this would pass through.
When I first heard this song, I thought: "what an amazing guitar solo"...until I figured out later that it was actually a car alarm.
I never thought about their music being dark, it always made me laugh. You can tell by the groove of the album that they were having a blast, the time of their lives.
Hespet
And that look at 2:03?
Price less! I will never get tired of brothers reacting to the music of my youth,
Not something I could have ever forseen. Thank you, You and you tube
Lol and I never noticed that that freaky freaky mixing bit sounds like he's saying Hold On! Wtf?
This is fun with Acid music. Mike Patton's voice has so much more range than these 2 songs show. I can't wait to see them on Monday at Brooklyn Steel 🤘🏽
Bungle are still performing?
I'm hoping this mini-tour is in anticipation of something longer, I was a bit young when Bungle was around, there was nothing like what we have today where I can follow a band and be notified right away when a show came around, you just would stumble across something in Kerang magazine or on a flyer announcing a show if you were lucky, or by word of mouth and then pray you could get your parents to pay for a ticket, that it wasn't sold out and then get to the show so I just never had the luck...but if they decide to do a full tour then I am so fucking on that when they come here
I saw them at the Fonda Theatre on Friday, and they were frickin amazing. Enjoy the show
I lived in Eureka {Nor-Cal} for many years, Mike P. used to work at the gas station in Arcata, anyways...weirdly wonderful strange house parties were had with Mr. B~
The mathematical funk of my younger days. They were so fucking talented
My favorite thing about Mr Bungle is getting their songs stuck in my head and catching myself singing them in public
LMAO I was singing this song at work the other day
“My hand is tired but my dick is sore, but the girls of porn want more...”
Sweet singing.
@@ryanlarocque2571 and scream "... And just let the ji-sm flyy!" Then look up embarrassed as I hear myself echoing through the aisles of the (now quiet) grocery store 😬😂
Bay Area Finest. Mr Bungle, & Faith No More.
@DOnkeyshyt I got you! Just trying to point out to this Bay Area guy that the music is coming from the Nor Cal backyard.
As far as the finest Bay Area bands go, I'd put Journey and Steve Miller Band ahead of Mr. Bungle
@@fa2112 well, Bungle wasn't a Bay area band, so...
I saw a Top Ten list of lead singers who can "sing you to sleep and scare you to death" and Mike Patton was definitely on that list. A truly underrated voice.
This is Mike Patton: The Teenage Years. His original band(pre- FNM).
This song was written in 90 & recorded in 91
The raging wrath of the Easter Bunny- that is the teenage mike patton
3:35 “HOLD ON! HOLD ON! Y’all can’t just be doing that! Just mixin’ and shit!” 😂
Slowly Growing Deaf was always my favorite.
"Hold on, Freaky-Freaky!"
🤣
Got to see them once, in 92 NYE Primus, Mr.Bungle , and the Melvins. I think I remember Mike drinking piss out of his shoe? Amazing, even held up to Ministry, Helmet, Sepultura, a week earlier on dec.23.
Most creative minds of the 90's, without a doubt.
No doubt mate!
And then primus
@@unowhavethebiggay1430 Type o Negative
Mr. Bungle is an experience to have. You must just take the ride with them and hold on tight... Almost impossible to put into words.
The Song grew on me wasnt a fan at first. Cant believe he also sang easy like Sunday Morning.
"Totem" and Peeping Tom's version of "Across 110th Street" also came out of the same human being, somehow.
Mr. Bungle is the shit! I used to listen to all their stuff. Learned a lot of cool music techniques and sounds. Good times!
Your reaction is exactly what is to be expected. lol
This particular album is a crazy mix of jazz, metal, rap, video game and pinball sound effects, human noises, movie clips, porno lines and sounds ("Girls of Porn" will blow your mind) and more.
I'm so glad you're listening to Mr. Bungle. They are like a jazz-metal-funk band on acid. Hahaha. They are a lot of fun. Always keep you guessing.
you should do God hates a coward by Tomahawk another mike patton band check out the video with the gas masks lol
Totally agree, the live version would be awesome for him to check out!
The live version of God Hates a Coward is epic. I watch it all the time. Patton is a legend.
That one and "Flashback" from the same show (it was on an Australian tv show, iirc). That version of "Flashback" is one of those songs/performances I desperately wish I'd written/performed.
101 north
Yuck. Those bands suck
I thought Korn took more from Primus
Holy crap man you went into the vault on this one. You are the only reactor giving this band the respect it deserves. Thank you kind sir
I love you're reactions to mr bungle, a band that takes time to appreciate. Do "Squeeze me macaroni" and "Girls of porn". You won't regret it
other good ditties: Chemical marriage, Sweet charity, Desert search, Carry stress in the jaw, The air-conditioned nightmare, Pink cigarette. Their second album is the most creative thing I've ever heard
I don’t think reactions to those could stay up on UA-cam.
The way you are just about to get into the rhythm of the song and bob along to it, it takes a left turn. That's Mr Bungle in a nutshell.
Carry Stress In The Jaw
Tiwaz THIS PLEASE
Yes!
YES! Definitely. I LOVE "Carry Stress in the Jaw." Talk about talented musicians.
Probably my favorite song of all time...
So good! Been listening to them since 91’.
lol oh my god man, i was bawlin' when you were listening to the end hahaha
Yes! Love watching someone's mind getting blown by Bungle for the first time lol
They have 3 major albums and all 3 of them are completely different from each other. Like Primus, Mr. Bungle really grows on you.
Just to put you at ease, we all looked like this the first time we heard Mr. Bungle Lol
Mr. Bungle is crazy but it's so incredibly technical... I don't think people realize how good you have to be to play this stuff... I've never had the pleasure to see them in concert but I hear it sounds exactly like this...
yup, i was the weird kid in early 90's jammin this.
Feral SpecOps me too dude... best of times.
I was the weird kid jamming to it in the early 2000s.
Me too.
I was the weird adult black male bumping this in 2010
Love Mr Bungle, they are amazing!!! Pink cigarette is awesome as well!!
Btw Bungle are doing three reunion shows currently in the States.
They added more
Wife and I saw them at Brooklyn Steel on the 10th. Front row, it was great.
Oh shit! We’re on Bungle? We gotta take this all the way to California for Golem II: The Bionic Vapor Boy.
Also you check out his other projects like Fantomas and Peeping Tom, They have some awesome original songs +cape fear/across 110th st. covers. .
Absolutely Top Notch!!

Peeping Tom is fucking classic record. Seriously I think that one will still sound fire 10 years from now.
Tomahawk, Loveage.....
The first 4 songs off of "Peeping Tom" are genius.

Again, a suggestion from each album to continue down the MrBungle rabbit hole...
