Seen them in 96 and huge fan since. Most people who've been spoon fed all their music by big music executives won't get it. I couldn't have put it a better way.
Yes, they did influence Slipknot. There is a lot going on in Mr. Bungle songs, it can be hard to take in one listen. There are many better songs from them, but they are exceptionally weird, which I personally love.
That was pretty much my reaction first time I heard this song, Bungle is an aquired taste and took me some time to appreciate but this song is fire and I laughed through this whole reaction, sorry but it literally took me back to when I first heard them and I was like WTF am I listerning to, so not at all surprised by your reaction lol
I get that Mr Bungle is not for everyone, but I think you should give another chance because their every album is different from another, this first album was some weird funky circus metal. Try something from California album like Retrovertigo which is a great song. And you are right Mr Bungle has influenced Slipknot and Korn as well.
@@michaelullo2152 he reacted to pink ciggerette and he didnt like it , i dont think this guy likes a lot of genres , am thinking he likes simplicity like rap ,hip hop and rock and simple metal. bungle is not simple lol they are creative and many styles put into one
Probably one of the most amazing and entertaining shows I’ve ever seen. Every song and album is so different from the next. California is the most listenable album for the untrained ear.
Dude, that's Mike Patton the singer of Faith No More's first band, even before he joined faith no more. You started out with the wrong song--try Carousel--his vocal genius is more clear there. It's still a difficult band to get into.
With tracks like this, they were almost daring people to keep listening. I love it, but I don't blame people if they'd rather listen to bands who aren't actively trying to troll the listener, lol.
I’m sure it’s been said already, but the singer (Mike Patton) has the largest vocal range in the history of popular music. Larger than Mariah Carey, Axl Rose, etc. Patton has a ton of projects with different styles. Bungle is very wild. One band that you’ve done already that (probably to your surprise) was HUGELY influenced by Patton and Mr. Bungle was Incubus. Brandon Boyd very much copied his voice from Patton. If you listen to “Strip Search” by Patton’s band Faith No More, it’s damn near indistinguishable from an Incubus song in the vocals.
Mr. Bungle is one of my favorite bands - don't listen to all the people saying you need to try another song, you probably won't like it - but I still enjoyed watching this reaction because you're honest and it was funny watching someone just get confused by this. Good to see an honest reaction channel, do your thing your way!
Lol, no it’s not. The first album is obnoxious as hell with a lot of unnecessarily long loud outros and dumb shit for shock value, and I don’t know why people recommend this song to reactors all the time. Carousel Stubb (A Dub) Dead Goon Are the best songs on the album and also the least obnoxious. At least the creepy clown laughter part in Carousel is interesting and adds to the song compared to whatever the fuck the outro to this was. Disco Volante and California are much better albums musically and Disco Volante definitely does the ‘this is weird as fuck’ vibe more effectively than anything on this album which is mostly noise and a lot of yelling, with some glimmers of brilliance.
Not if you like musicianship. I was at a poker game once where we brought our own playlists. A guy hated them because “they’re just showing off how good they are”. WTF?
Thanks for the laugh! I totally get your white people comment. All through the late 80s and the 90s, there was a lot of music like this in the "alt" scene. Ive thought that it could be the result of musicians tired of the standards of music, lyrics and subject matter. My dad had a friend that literall had/has an entire house full of...room after room...vinyl of every imaginable kind of music. He exposed me to so much different music when I was young, and was always making mix tapes for my dad that I copy. On one hand, I had the music he had shared, but also listened to the 80s rock, soul, blues, jazz and classical music ( I was in band through school and into college). By the time I got out of high school, I was sick of all the same types of music that were popular....so this, "white guy" 😉, ended up seeking out something...anything new or different. Between weed, drugs, and being in my 20s and the scenes in the 90s, Id listen to anything...including this type of chaotic, distorted, performance music. There were musicians experimenting with every sort of music, and believe it or not, here in austin, everyone...."black, white, brown and yellow guys" got in on the scene... Rock, jazz, rap, hip hop, even classical, electronica, industrial, dance and even traditional musics from around the world. Parties and raves with crazy line ups of diverging musics being mixed and shared...a dj, a classical pianist, a tabla player, a steel guitarist a tuba...all on stage jamming. It was chaos and order blended into one, great musicians looking for new sounds beats and rhythms.
They just released a new album one of the most hardcore thrash metal albums I've ever heard they have the guitarist from anthrax and drummer from slayer now

Not sure if it's been mentioned but this wasn't an official video. It was a fan made video. The only official video made at the time was for Quote Unquote. Give that a try sometime.
This is a powerful song, unfortunately it is not the best choice to attract new listeners. It is an acquired taste so to speak, and requires knowledge of Mike Patton's entire portfolio to appreciate it at the very least.
I love Mr. Bungle and FNM, and everything Patton does but you're right on.. Bungle isn't supposed to be good listening. It's more like listening to the Olympics. Most of the sports I don't give 2 shits about... But I appreciate the athleticism.
Don't trip. Mr. Bungle is awesome. You should check out at least one song from each of their albums. They are all wildly different. You should at least give their song Retrovertigo a listen
I think Mr. Bungle requires a bit of context to get into. You should check out other artists that blend genres to create chaos and humor the way Mr. Bungle do. Check out Frank Zappa/Mothers of Invention, French TV, and Captian Beefheart.
Who ever reccomdnxdd you this is trying to get you to go wtf lol this is the most aggressive bungle song you should start off something like pink cigarette then make your way to stubb a dubb

Something about a black man w a Friend's hat reviewing Mike Patton is funny. Just realize you are listening to the greatest vocalist ever. White people music... nah, people with an ear for talent music. Yes, good call on the Slipknot reference. 100% on the money.
LMBO!! That 'LOOK' on your face on the 3:00 & 10:45 mark is ME, WTH am i listening to & WHY!! Im actually sit through this for 3 $!! What have 'I' let myself become LMBO! "White People=CRAZY" when looking at this LMBO. I'm really thinking 'This' whole Band idea is Mike Pattons way of 'Letting' the steam off !! Like we know some like to go out and do NORAMAL CHIT, Fishing, Kayaking, B.B.Qing, Go to the Gym etc. to relieve stress, MAYBE this is 'Pattons Way' of doing THAT.. I.D.K. But NEVER could i say, being a 'White Dude', "Yeah I Enjoy This" NAH!! It's painful LMBO. SO ima skip out on Mr. BUNGHOLEs B.S. lol.. YOU make that $ Jat Rah lol... On a side note, "The Bands Got FANS"!! Freaking CRAZY WORLD we in!! Looking at the other comments, it still gonna be 'Hard' to go listen to Mr. B's other songs lol..
everyone has this reaction at first. but if you keep at it with this band you understand why theyre stellar. not the best song too. that ending is rough lol try carousel
Do not listen to Disco Volante, this album is almost mainstream in comparison. California is much more accessible to the masses. They just put out an amazing thrash album though.
I just subscribed to your channel and you have to give Mr. Bungle another try. This was the wrong song to start off on. They have better songs than this one.
Everybody always wants channels to react to this one just to fuck with them it seems like. It sucks because this is a really tough intro to the band and tends to turn people off. There are some way more accessible songs on California that you might actually like. Still weird but way more listenable. I would go with Retrovertigo or Air Conditioned Nightmare. If that doesn't work for you, just stick with the Faith No More or maybe try some Tomahawk.
Actually I requested this song because it's one of my favorite Bungle songs, there wasn't any more thought put into it than that so you shou;dn't assume it's just to fuck with someone, I wanted a reaction to this song because I freakin love it that's all

Primus might be an influence, along with pretty much every other genre out there. I like Primus, but Bungle and Patton's career cannot even be compared to the one-note of Primus.

Don't trip. Mr. Bungle is awesome. You should check out at least one song from each of their albums. They are all wildly different. You should at least give their song Retrovertigo a listen
You crack me up
I think Mr. Bungle requires a bit of context to get into. You should check out other artists that blend genres to create chaos and humor the way Mr. Bungle do. Check out Frank Zappa/Mothers of Invention, French TV, and Captian Beefheart.
Nice video, you should react to Merry go bye bye by mr bungle also its a more chill song
I’ve liked Bungle for 20+ years. If you want to think “white people” then I’m fine with that.
Who ever reccomdnxdd you this is trying to get you to go wtf lol this is the most aggressive bungle song you should start off something like pink cigarette then make your way to stubb a dubb
Not really, it's just one of my favorite Bungle songs, Stubb a dub is another, and he already reacted to Pink Cigarette and didn't really like it
If he didn't like pink cigarette then idk that a good song xD rip he's music taste. I understand not liking my ass is on fire but pink cigarette? Its cool though everyone has their taste h@@roxannemitchell4119
@@sussychachi Well I'm lost for any more Bungle suggestions, maybe Retrovertigo I don't know?
To appreciate and like Bungle you have to listen to them repetitively. They are one of these bands that you either will hate or love them.
Try something off their third album. It is completely different from the style you hear here. Maybe Sweet Charity or Air Conditioned Nightmare.
you got Bungrolled
Mr bungle is a pleb filter
Redundant
Actually I requested this song because it's one of my favorite Bungle songs, there wasn't any more thought put into it than that so you shou;dn't assume it's just to fuck with someone, I wanted a reaction to this song because I freakin love it that's all
@@roxannemitchell4119 I like this song a lot too, it just wouldn't have been my choice of an introduction. I didn't mean to offend, sorry to have made the assumption. I just know people do seem to do that on here sometimes.
@@meowzebub9667 Nah it's cool. this wasn't his first reaction to Bungle, he did Pink Cigarette first and didn't really like it so thought I would go for something differen't, it was between this and Stubb a dub and I went with this one, but oh well I still enjoyed the reaction
slipknot is a total rip off, and korn and so on...
I think Patton always plays with great musicians, but I don't like the music timbrally. And your white people comment...heh. In a similar realm, but more accessible, try out some Ween!
Do your homework man.
They sound like a knock off of Primus. Listen to them My name is mudd
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 funny comment, well done.
Primus might be an influence, along with pretty much every other genre out there. I like Primus, but Bungle and Patton's career cannot even be compared to the one-note of Primus.
Lol Mr.bungle is way more talented then Primus, bungle mixes over 37 genres into 3 albums. . lol
Less claypool is a talented bassist and the drummer is hella good and guitarist also but their music is still pretty simple compared to bungle
@@sussychachi and the recent one is pure thrash metal
Not for me, sorry.
I agree with you- this stuff isn't music. I have no idea what it is, actually.
That doesn't really make any sense
@@melryan9412 expiremental rock and metal? it is music lol do your research
I mean it's no fuckin Bart Bell Experience but yanno? what is?!
@@neilpatrickhairless Each to their own. I suppose I should shut up, and keep my opinions to myself.
@@sussychachi i think you responded to the wrong guy
No to Mr bungle , I am a massive FNM fan but no to bungle .
It's like someone said,
"Hey Slipknot, do it like this...but be good."
Big nope.
Music requires rhythm and melody.
It started out not bad, then turned to shyt...if that's what they're looking for, then they succeeded.
Yeah, that was the idea it's kinda experimentation between what's music and what's not, understandable that you don't like it
@@pedrojesus2432
Only because I didn't know what they were trying to achieve, and just assumed it should fit my perception of music.
That's a really plain and boring concept of music.
@@thatsprettylunchean I really think that trying to find the limits is one of the most interesting things to do
