Hi everyone! Regarding the "LAST TIP," what I mean by replacing material_2.0.fx is that instead of using material_2.0.fx and material_common_2.0.fxsub inside the folder you made, you'll have these files in that folder instead: material_common_2.0.fxsub, material_editor.fxsub, material_editor_1.fx, and material_editor_1.pmx. Regarding the Online Normal Map Generator, there are many more things you can tweak aside from the level and strength, so I encourage you to experiment. If you want to learn more about customizing your Ray-MMD materials, read the README file inside Ray-MMD's Materials folder. You'll see there what each number means when you set it to a variable. Lastly, thanks for watching my video! If you'd like to support me in creating more MMD tutorials, you can do so here: ko-fi.com/theweebdev. That's it, and have a nice day!
This is actually SO helpful, I always struggle with finding materials for stages but I think now I’m pretty much free from that struggle! Thanks so much 🙏🙏
Idk if you've ever considered this but you should totally make a discord!! It'd make it a lot easier for people to find help with MMD stuff related to your videos since you don't have to rely on youtube comment notifications and can send images and such. Apologies for any typos in this comment I literally can't see what I'm ty[ing without pressing ctrl+a bc my youtube is tweaking rn.
Yeah a lot of people told me to make a discord server but the problem is I don't think I have the time to manage it(+ I'm an introvert) so I don't know if I can make it work. Maybe next year I'll make one
@@theweebdev Your videos help so many people, I'm sure there's people who would be willing to help you with a server! No pressure of course, I'll wait until next year ^^
Do you by chance have a video showing how to use stage effects/lighting that come built into the stages or being able to use the built in camera stage screen etc?
If there's any built-in that comes with the stage, it's in the facial manipulation. Each one is different so I suggest reading the readme file inside the stage's folder because they put instructions there if they put some extra functions the stage can make
@@YungSteambuns yeah, if they didn't provide a vmd motion file, you have to register each frame you make some changes. It's not so different from a model. If you don't have a motion, you have to animate it yourself and those sliders the creator of the stage provided in the facial manipulation is what you'll use instead
Thanks for all the tutorials, they are really appreciated!! Did some testing and the video came nice, will release it Friday hopefully. Question, what compressor will you recommend for 4k? i use UtVideo and works perfect for 1440p but for 4k if the file is too big it stops working and the audio gets out of sync or crashes mid render
the codec that works best for me for 4k has been ffdshow! it's readable for mmd, doesn't give you MASSIVE file sizes (although I do recommend compressing the .avi file to .mp4 or .mov using handbrake or avidemux for space saving). do be careful when rendering to 4k for longer videos though, because even with a more lossy codec like ffdshow mmd can still crash when it runs out of usable memory while rendering. if that happens then just render your video in chunks and put them together in a video editor of some kind haha
Awesome tutorial, dude. Anyways, I have some problems with MME; every time I load MME from any .fx file from ray-mmd, or sometimes when I load ray.x, the error appears. It says, "Failed to reset MikuMikuEffect." This error has appeared for 3 days and didn't appear before.
Have you tried changing the location of ray-mmd folder? I suggest to close MMD, put the ray-mmd folder to the Desktop or Downloads folder, then try again
@@iachannel9521 how about closing MMD, right-click on the icon and click on "troubleshoot compatibility". You can also try reinstalling MME or downloading ray-mmd again.
@@KaithelionMCB Haven't tried it yet but in material_2.0.fx, there an "ALPHA" parameter so I think you can combine that with "SPECULAR" to create a glass like material
When I use Ray mmd, the effect color controller , transparent can work. Sorry, I don't speak English very well, and the effect scale_v005 how I can make it work with Ray mmd thanks
@PaimonTech oh I thought you were just joking but yeah the more realistic you render, the harder for it for your pc especially if you use displacement map

I only tried to render 4k a few times and it crashes after a thousand frames so I don't really know what's best for that resolution
