Absolutely love your content. Really helpful for someone who's just getting started in the field. Also, the calmness of your videos is so pleasing and makes the learning process a lot nicer. Thank you for sharing!
very interesting ideas. I personally related to the concept of KISS. Or in other words, make something useful and not end up with another gimmick. More than that, I had a similar situation, where I was attracted to product design, but during my early years, I no one around me to guide me and help me realize that there is such a profession. While I was studying 3D animation, one of the tutors, saw what I was doing and talked to me about becoming a designer. The rest is history
Thanks Sam! Very much appreciate being invited along, thank you. Also, I’m hoping that we can put our minds together and take this project further! Just about to head over to your channel.
I really enjoyed watching this video, your voice is really relaxing and your drawings are great. I'm studying Industrial Design and watching this kind of videos really motivate me to get better, thank you very much.
Well done for enduring listening to the voice and staying awake! You’re one of the very small number to manage that! Thank you, I really appreciate your support.
👍🏻😊You should have been in Japan, there you’d have met similar designer and together you’d have created so much things that can impact the world with their technology.
Still wanna know what paper/size you use :( Love your video, great stuff as usual, with rock solid sound. Hate when I watch youtubers and it's like they're shouting at you.
Hi, sorry if I missed this question before.... I’m using A3. I’ll almost always use A3. The paper in this video is simple brown paper (the wrapping type). Otherwise I tend to use high quality colour photocopier paper. Very much appreciate your support, thank you.
I normally use high quality colour photocopy paper for designing. The surface helps my work to flow. I’ll use marker paper if I’m making heavy use of marker pens. I’m using brown paper (like packaging paper) in the video above.
That’s a difficult one to answer. I’d say the inspiration is different for each individual project. I might start by thinking through specific materials, and seeing where that leads me. It might be entirely based upon what the client wants. It can sometimes be based upon an emotion, as in the sketches in this video. Particularly The final sketch in the bottom right hand corner has a playful and optimistic vibe. Pretty much anything can be the starting point, and then I tend to go with the flow. Hope this helps.
Firstly, the needs of the user. The success of the product is closely related the user needs. Also, what the client wants from you. They are my starting points.
Hey If i may ask, what kind of white color do you use to give that reflective effect to the drawing? Oh and nice video. Would totally enjoy watching a part 2 of this video.
Part 2 sounds like an idea! I’m using a white pencil crayon. It’s difficult to find a white pencil crayon that covers all bases. This one is quite good because it’s ‘bitten’ a bit by the paper, so it leaves a visible mark. Then I am using gouache paint for the highlights.
product designer maker Great! Thanks!! I really like the effect and I think I’m gonna integrate this in my sketches Looking forward for future videos! Keep going man.
Hello I was wondering what is the actual difference between product design and industrial design. I am currently an id student looking for internship but a lot of companies have offers for product designer. Btw your videos are very helpful!
Thank you. It’s a difficult one to answer.... this video by Berk Kaplan is useful ua-cam.com/video/4--Xt8qHMfg/v-deo.html. The term product design means different things to different people, but broadly speaking, I’d say the two terms are essentially the same. Various universities run product design courses and industrial design courses alongside each other.... it would be worth looking at the descriptions in University documentation. Sorry I don’t have a definitive answer, but hope this helps.
@@productdesignermaker hi there and thank you for sharing this awesome video. I am an architect and i have really enjoyed your videos. And i have to say from my perspective that architects and product designers in core are very much alike and are driven by almost the same things that in fact I’m already career shifting to product design as a side job/hobby. Cheers
How hard to find a job in this field? Really difficult question to answer. There should always be plenty of work in this field as so much of what is conceived, designed, and built is done so with the help of industrial designers and engineers. There should always be plenty of jobs.

Thank you very much! Much appreciated.

Cool! Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Sounds like you're a product designer now then!
This man is so calm!! Do you have a podcast?
No podcast I’m afraid. I’d like to, but time is tight!
You not active enough! Positive and well rounded content, always enjoy your content.
Thank you. Definitely not active enough during lockdown!
Kudos! And I’m glad to hear you’re balancing between the need vs. overall impact on the whole. Thanks for sharing.

What’s you advice for someone interested in becoming an industrial designer?
Do it! It’s a great career! It depends what stage you’re at. If you get the opportunity, go and get experience with some practicing designers.
Thanks for the advice. I’m looking into schools right now but I feel like meeting with a designer would help a lot thanks.
Hi there is there any difference between an architect and an industrial designer?
alvin Trixx hi, yes, very much so.... the architect designs buildings, the industrial designer designs the products that go inside the buildings.

and please the name of paper!
Hi, all listed here on my website.... www.productdesignermaker.com/equipment
It’s the brown paper, sharpie and papermate flair.

You remind me of Nicolas Hulot, he does all types of crazy explorers stuffs ,but l bet he doesn't do product design.
Interesting..... I’ll look him up.

Is it possible to join for M des after instrumentation engineering
I'm not sure quite what instrumentation engineering is, but I would think so.
I wonder what are you designing. It looks like... teeth? 😅
So do I!!
Just some generic shapes that could be speakers/lights/radios etc
