This is now my favorite Christmas song.
After the events of the past few days, this song hits particularly hard for me. A birthday weekend ruined by a bad bed, narrowly dodging losing my job, almost falling for a diet-based Ponzi scheme. I love you guys.

@@Arcanist_Gaming It wasn't my bed, but the bed at a hotel I tried to stay at. It was so rock hard it actually did my back a minor injury. Partly because of that I didn't sleep a wink that night and had to cancel plans with friends and family the next day because I simply couldn't stay awake.

@@Arcanist_Gaming It was a local B&B based in a 100 year old Victorian townhouse. To be fair to them, the owners were nothing but kind and accommodating, but the place was also showing distinct signs of decay; they mentioned finally getting the roof fixed two weeks after my stay, which we know from friends who've performed there that they've been trying to get to for almost 2 years. That said, I suspect the mattress hadn't been replaced since the B&B opened in the mid-1980's. I'm not exactly a stranger to old mattresses, and I often prefer my beds a bit on the hard side, but this was something else entirely. Thankfully, when I called the next morning to cancel the rest of my stay (I'd returned home the same night; luckily it was in the same town as where I live), they were surprisingly understanding, almost to the point where I suspect I wasn't the first time this had happened. And they only charged me for the one night I was there, which was fair by me; I had used their facilities after all.
I'm not mad at them for the experience; you always take your chances when you stay somewhere outside your home. Heck, I've stayed at a Holiday Inn Express where I didn't sleep more than 2-3 hours a night for 4 days because of banging on the floor above and maintenance folks whistling in the halls. Once I was conscious enough to reflect on it, I was supremely bummed out about my Saturday plans being spoiled, but I also realized that what's done is done and there's no point fretting about it. And hey, at least I still got a weekend off work, which isn't easy this time of year.

This song's sentiment is rarely set to music. Thank goodness you did so expertly! It's vitally important to take a moment and admit something's buggered to fuck and back sometimes. Suppressing that emotion is false positivity, which is highly toxic behavior for the fake and their loved ones. Not to mention part of why some discussions of larger problems get hopelessly derailed. Set a play list and go bay-bay! Should i coment on migrane days, probably not. But when almost every day's a migrane day sometimes you gotta say eff it we ball to the physical pain for a few minutes to scrounge a scrap of normalcy.

I think this is relatable for me sometimes when I’m not feeling great or when other people have just not been nice. I think this song is for anyone who feels like the world is just too much sometimes and we need to just feel our emotions so we can get up the next day and try again. This is a great song. 🎉

This was my theme tune last week I suddenly lost my sight in my left eye and ended up for 5 days in French hospital. That was shit enough before the food arrived 💩😂😭. I can’t remember how many times my wife were quietly singing this all over the hospital when going to consultations. Back on my llama farm now and much better, awaiting results.
