I shot the "On the Range Review" of the Taurus PT 1911video last winter prior to an injury and just recently completed the production. I love 1911s, especially the Colt Government Model; known better to some as the Government or M1911. I found this Taurus to be as fun and easy to shoot as the Colt. Thanks to my many subscribers for your patience as I recover and return producing videos for the RgR Channel. The gun I am currently reviewing, and really look forward sharing with you, is the Kimber Pro Carry II - a quality 9mm 1911 variant from Kimber. To see how to field strip the Taurus PT1911, check out my RgR video "Taurus Pt 1911 Field Strip": @6wi2r0WxZo/edit
I’ve owned my PT1911 for a few years now. It has flawlessly performed with a variety of ammo offerings. The great trigger and match grade barrel make me a better shooter than what I expected to be. I purchased mine NIB for a little under $500. IMHO, the PT1911 is a superior pistol in that price range!
I had one comment that I showed too high a price on the gun. In the videos, I simply show the company retail to compare apples to apples. We all hope to beat that company price, and you got a great price. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Thanks for the neat comment about me. Definitely back. I have a fair number of Taurus guns and it has nothing to do with the price; I simply like them. Two of my favorites; the PT 1911 and the PT 92. Maybe not fair as I also previously liked the Beretta 92 and the Colt Government Model, so those models themselves are favorites. Thanks again for viewing and commenting.
That trigger looked better than my Series 70 Springfield Armory Mil-Spec. I was worried when I hadn't seen you post in quite a while. I hope you are doing well these days. It is great to have you back and posting quality videos.
I appreciate the kind remark and also appreciate you for viewing and commenting on the videos. This is a really easy to accurately shoot trigger and one would expect that of a sub 5 pound trigger with almost no take-up.
Interesting..I have only sent one gun back to Taurus over the years and the service was really good; maybe, it has degraded over the years. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
@@RealGuysReviews Every gun manufacture have gun that break but most repair them in a timely manor but not Taurus, They take a long time to fix and have sent guns back still broken.
Thanks, Jim - one of our rainiest seasons in a longtime that prevented me from getting to my range and then followed by an accident that sidelined me longer than I anticipated. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
500$ all day!! ive had one about a year sights work them selves loose at about 500 rounds and the finish was garbage ive put work into it and i got in a good place now
So glad to see this video pop up. I have watched a bunch of your videos over and over but glad to have you back!! Best wishes on your continued recovery.
Good review, nice gun. I used to own and shoot three .45 ACP pistols in the 80s and 90s. Colt, Thompson and a made from parts lightweight Commander style.
I have shot the heck out of the Colt and at least from my standpoint this is pretty darn close to as neat. One comment was that I was wrong on the price as he got his for $500. When I show a price, it is company retail (only way for me to really compare apples to apples). Thanks for viewing and commenting.
So glad to see you back. You have the best review format on UA-cam. May God heal you and bless you and yours. Thank you for the video and I may consider one of these Tauruses.
Thanks so much for the kind remarks. It makes the effort well worth it. I simply produce things that I enjoy and want to share it with others and the camera allows that. This Taurus is my personal gun and I meant everything I stated - it is a really neat 1911 to shoot. The price I showed was the retail price but certainly can be bought at a bargain.
Thanks for the wonderful compliment and yes I am doing better and ready to get active again. Appreciate your viewing the video and glad my simple down to earth format works. I just want to get the basics of what interests me in a gun and then to show quickly what I like about it as I shoot a few shots through it - not obviously as an expert but as an average shooter like many of us are.
Welcome back, hope your recovery is quick and complete. I have the stainless version. Well, I did for about a decade, just gave it to my son as he's always loved it and rarely shot it anymore. Great gun with lots of features for the $.

Great video sir! Thank you for posting! I have one of these and LOVE IT!
It is such a fun gun to shoot and for the price hard to beat as a 1911 variant off the Colt Body. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Not fond of Taurus's poor service but love the 1911 style pistols.
