Tyler, came across your channel via Kelly Bills because I am a 32 year old widower with 3 babies. My wife died of cancer 3 months ago.
Thank you so much for these conversations, young widow(er)s are rare and there is not much content out there. You are doing a great service to a tiny minority of us without a public voice.

As a fellow widower, I was 28, in July 2020, my husband died while I was giving him CPR from a blood clot in his lungs, we had four kids, aged 9, 3 and a half, a 1 year old who turned 2, 13 days later, I turned 28 actually 14 days after my husband died, and our youngest was only 3 and a half months old. (mine and my daughters birthdays are right next to each other. I totally understand your pain and grief. Now that it’s four years later I can tell you from experience that it does get easier. It gets easier because you learn to live with the pain and the pain subsides as time passes. 😢 I know how hard it is, I know how you feel and how you can’t explain how you feel at times. If you need to talk I’m here for you.

Postmortem workers are literal angels on earth. I’m so happy they facilitated the best goodbye you could’ve had given the horrible situation and tried to make it less jarring. When I was 15 my mom passed and when they came and got her, they had her on the gurney and were literally wheeling her out already and it was like 2 am at this point, I know they were probably tired. But I asked them to stop in the foyer and they did so without any questions and let my sisters dad go get her out of bed so she could say goodbye to mom. We had tried to tell her earlier but she was so sleepy she wasn’t even lucid, so I wanted her to be able to kiss her goodbye and know what happened. My biggest fear in that moment was my 6 yo sister waking up and mommy’s just.. Gone and she didn’t get to say goodbye

I lived with and loved a fully functional alcoholic for twelve years. We had two beautiful kids together. He was the father figure for my daughter. He absolutely broke me. I tried for years to help him and he blamed me for his addiction. I was the reason he drank every day and every night. He would take my last $1 to help his addiction while the kids and I couldn’t even buy milk. I left him 5 years ago. I’m still in love with the person he was but not the person he is today.
I’m now in a relationship with the most wonderful man. He’s never blamed me for anything or raised his voice at me.
At the start I felt like u had to cause drama because that’s what I was use too. Now I’m so happy and so in love. My kids all get along with him. My boys still see their dad.

This is a powerful podcast!! Very moving. But might I suggest some positive feedback. You gotta do something with the people in the background. I’m assuming it’s a mic issue picking up the chatter and you didn’t notice it during recording, but is there a way to clean that up I’m post production? It’s tough hearing Brittany pour her heart out when people are in the next room giggling and chatting. Even with that I was still feeling the emotions of the pod. Great stuff!

Such a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart and incredible wisdom! So very sad that you and your babies had to suffer such a trauma! This podcast really hits home with me as I am married to a wonderful man who supported me through my addiction. When we were married in 2003 I had around 20 years clean. He had lost his first wife to terminal brain cancer and was left with four young children. About 12 years into our marriage I relapsed on opiates due to chronic pain and surgeries. The fentanyl crisis was just hitting around the same time…… thank God I made it off of the street drugs! The outcome could have been very different and I definitely put my family through the ringer which I still regret to this day but I thank God for his grace and the opportunity to love like I wasn’t capable of during that time!! So my husband and I really relate to your story and I just pray that God will heal your heart and continue to bless you and keep you ~you and your family!! Thank you for sharing your story it has made a huge impact on me as I’m sure it has for countless others !!
