- In this video, we bought a full Lidl fishing setup, rods, net, and lures. We were going to see if you need all the expensive fishing equipment to catch fish or would a supermarket set-up work just as well!

My 2 bait runner reels were from Lidl this year and they are fantastic quality and we're only £15 each. I was dubious but after reading the threads on Maggot Drowners Forum on how good they were I bought 2 for myself and 1 for a mate.

Once or twice a year Aldi down here in Australia will put on a fishing special sale where they get in basic Abu Garcia and Ugly Stik combos for a week. They're always medium weight outfits for saltwater pier and inshore boat work and they're great value for money, half of my fishing club owns at least one of their combos
Yeah I don’t think we will have any of those type of rods in our Lidl/Aldi anytime soon!

I live in Milton Keynes and love a bit of lure fishing. That river is always somewhere I'll visit and had a couple good ones out of there

Well done I used the Lidl fly rod the other week and gave it a go on my channel and my friend kevin the milk man as we all call him had a 16lb carp on it..there's some good stuff there if your just getting into the sport.. Tight lines..glad I came across your channel..Just subbed well done enjoyed that

As an experienced angler i have had a look at the available fishing tackle we have in our local liddle store in england , as the saying goes you get what you pay for , they do some nice tidy spinning reels but most of the gear i would not touch with a bargepole , do not get me wrong but if you are a novice on a budget then you could have some fun with this gear , my fear is that this cheap gear appeals to a lot of our foreign friends who seem to think it is ok to take fish home to eat which is illegal , the government should consider that when buying a fishing rod from anywhere you should produce a rod licience before been allowed to make a purchase , just like you do when buying a gun

That was the idea behind the Shakespeare gear from Argos back in the day. Budget gear but it was good enough to get on with.

I got my spinning kit from temu and so far it's been brilliant I once bought a fly rod from Aldi but it broke getting it out the box and the two replacements they gave me I was just fed up off spending thousands on my carp gear lol
They were doing fly rods from Lidl as well, did want to buy it but the clothing and lure rods were the priority 🤣🤣

I had a blank session just over a week ago, nothing worse! But yesterday I had a really good session catching 54 fish, roach, rudd, gudgeon, goldfish, carp, F1s, and sturgeon, so that really made up for it. Going again tomorrow and hoping it will be as good.

Unfortunately you went to one of the most hammered spots in the shire!!! Suprised the ford didnt have several polish spinning, kray trapping and having massive bbq!
We are still getting to know the good spots :) But it's been tricky finding the right info!

You can catch fish with any lure as long as you find it and is willing to eat. Fish don't look at the brand or price of the equipment we use.

Just stumbled on this vid. I've just come back to fishing after about 25 year gap and been buying tackle , I noticed Lidl doing this gear a while back but ignored it going for branded gear. I've since seen reviews and even reel strip downs and wished I hadn't . Reviews have been very positive and I could have saved a lot of money , fishing has become a money making joke. As someone stated , the fish don't care what tackle you are using and as for all this Camo gear on the market I have to laugh , fishes eyesight is very poor and the word Carp on every thing is tedious. Give me a decent roach , tench or perch , sick of carp already after only 5 trips back to the sport. Anyway , glad you enjoyed yourselves.
Yeah it was definitely decent, we use the net all the time now! We do like the camp gear but definitely not for keeping incognito from the fish 😂

There is nothing worse than getting a Christmas present from family because they know you love fishing , and while doing there food shop buy you Lidl or other supermarket fishing tackle ! £20 waisted ! That's why I alway ask for socks .. it's hard to get socks wrong 🤔
I have an ultra lite reel for 25$ and caught a 10 pound Alligator gar on it. Don't go broke trying to catch a free fish
