Reina is the new blend of tekken now almost feels like an inflection point. She still has legacy moves of the past but she looks forward into the future. Great design and gameplay
Reina is nuts...she is my primary obsession of the entire game I've ranked up on her to combatant vs actual players, Assailant vs CPU and defeated her staff ghosts...I've made 4 costumes for her...my Afterthought is King because you know...wrestling I like wrestling.
He actually left out a really important property of the hellsweep if you hold down on hit you will go into Heavens Wrath with +6. That makes her hellsweep really good imo.
mm, yeah but tbh you just dont press once you see that, I know what you mean man but even that is still weak RELATIVE to what people think of when they hear "hell sweep". Its a good low but its not the vortex 50 50 of death the standard mishimas have
He will probably go more in-depth over time, but this is just a quick look for players that want to use her. She's definitely an interesting addition to the roster.
As someone new to Tekken and fighting games in general, and wanted to learn to play Reina, I couldn't understand a god damn thing this whole 8 minutes but it's still helpful 👍
I would suggest you to start with other easier characters like asuka, victor or paul. The Mishimas are a bunch of characters with a playing style which involves some gimmicks that are kinda hard to learn, and reina is no exception. This is not for downplaying you, but is for having a better understanding of the game mechanics. Some characters are straightforward, others are evasive, and the list continues.
If you are new, for your neutral you can play her with literally only these moves 11 and df1 as fast pokes. Hit confirm 11 into 112. EWGF for keepout. ff2 and fn3 for approach. f4 as your mid to pressure and discourage ducking. f4 on crouching opponents gives you a free df12. db4 or ss4 for a low poke. cd42 for your high risk high reward low. b2 for tracking opponents side ways movement. If you get into Sentai from a move on hit like 112 To keep it super simple Sentai 2 and Sentai 3+4 cover each other weaknesses. Sentai 2 is mid, uninterruptible, safe, can't be stepped/walked. Sentai 3+4 is low to hit people who stand guard too much. Then from Heaven's Wrath if you get into the stance with plus frames like a move on hit such as cd42d at the wall or ws44d as a punish. To keep it super simple Heaven's Wrath 2 and Heaven's Wrath 1+3 or 2+4 cover each others weaknesses. Heaven's Wrath 2 is mid uninterruptible, safe, but can be stepped right. Heaven's Wrath 1+3 or 2+4 is high unbreakable throw, tracks steps/walks both sides (throws are homing in T8 lol) and hits people that stand guard too much.
Reina’s stance into stance shenanigans weirdly reminds me of Siegfried from Soul Calibur. Kinda looking forward to exploring her stances more than her Mishima stuff if I’m being honest here.
As a huge SC fan who mains Sieg and Maxi, I was really not sure where to go in T8, and Reina has already been an absolute delight over the few hours I've played her. That style feels super intuitive and I love flowing between stances.
Reina is a Mishima Specialist's dream. A character with unlimited potential and tech. I can't wait to lab and explore this character more myself. Thank you TMM.
She does look complicated but honestly with electric and good punishment (df2) u could just play the traditional simplistic Mishima gameplan using movement and whiff punish with electric
I think that was the idea. Straightforward base tools, but if someone _really_ commits, the potential is unlimited. I really appreciate designs like this.
@@baltharaaz9847 I totally agree she is super interesting. OMG, she has THIRD-STRIKE PARRIES?! That's insane, I was on the fence between her and Victor, but I think her complexity might seal the deal for me, she just looks way too cool
it's not exactly the same because it only parries punches, you still get blown up if the opponent kicks or grabs you which with things like hwoarang and Shaheen in the game is a harder to find them using punches outside combos

@@victorbastos8924 Look up the guides from Xiangsgaming for each character very helpful and way better for beginners his videos are very well streamlined and give a good idea of what the characters strength and weakness are. Has anyone covered that her eletrics are super easy and consistent after d4 or b4
how highly would you rate the importance of being able to do electrics with her? i want to play her but i don't wanna spend so much time learning to do a single move. i can't do it on pad at all and yes i know it's a skill issue but i'm still curious to know if she's solid without it.
Trying to play a Mishima without electric is like trying to ride a bike without wheels.

Fuck reina bring back heihachi
Forget it, it's the era of waifu trolling
can someone explain me the numbers in xbox-controller style?
Detailed guide, when??? Queen deserves to be first!
I think Reina will need a 6 hours guide by TMM
Can someone tell me her best loss because they suck the ones I’ve used
Didnt understand a single word but pretty cool anyway
The least fun characters to fight against are stance characters...
i hope they bring heihachi has a dlc character i miss the old man
While i pointed her as my main , i checked to see how her moves function. she looks rather challenging.
Uh...jump in and dash...uhhhhh...wave dash...uhhhhhh.....mix up jab..uhhhhhhh....
Was not expecting to want to learn a new character as much as this. Reminds me of Lei Wulong with the stance and auto parry stuff but with a solid Mishima base.
Im brand new to tekken and shes great. Easy and hard at the same time. I like all her options and in the long run learning how to master her will be worth it, clearly. also love the unga bunga auto combo lol makes my life much easier. Although her lows as said in the video are soooo bad which is a pretty big down side especially for a noob. I guess just throw loop like its street fighter i dunno.
Is it 6pm yet
3 more hours
@@HoDoBoDoa long three hours lol
ikr thats how it feels haha
@@DrEaMsNoEviL I'm watching Disney Movie's and TMM's 8 New 8 minute guides to pass the time 😂.
I really like Reina as a charecter. She's cool!
Man, this character is ridiculous. All the stances and mixups Reina has is mentally taxing. Guess wrong and it's "good game."
Love how she's so complex TMM is basically doing an 8 min guide on science by slapping a periodic table shouting "SCIENCE"
