I really enjoyed seeing this on shorter hair. I think I’ve heard a zig zag part a large one can help the back lay a bit better and not have the initial separation. My only challenge is I don’t own a robe 😂
I love the robe curls. I had longer hair until a couple months ago when I cut off my unhealthy covid hair. My hair is just a tad bit longer than yours and I'm gonna try this tonight!
I can't get over how stunning your hair looks! I've been afraid to try heatless curls since I began my curly girl journey for some reason, but I may definitely have to give this one a go! Thanks for the tip! 😊
It’s funny because the whole reason I started CGM was because I wanted a way to let my hair air dry and look nice afterward! My hair is coarse wavy so it looks like a big frizz ball air dried without product. I do hate that it takes FOREVER to dry with gel - but at least it looks nice afterward!
Hey Courtney, love your videos! I’m a “2B” curly wavy girl. Always looking for other ways to do my hair. FYI- teachers usually ask students to sit on the carpet, crisscross applesauce, preschool to 1st Grade age usually. We say crisscross, applesauce hands are in your lap.❤
So pretty!! It’s so interesting how this method produces differently looking curls on people. Maybe you have layers?? Mine end up looking like I did a braid.
Hi, new to your channel. Was searching for DIY curling methods explained simply and effectively. ❤ yours is the perfect video for that purpose. 😊 I love the result, I think you nailed it. The back would look great with a little bit of styling. I for one hate it when the root area/"crown" of my hair sits flat on top of my head, so I'll definitely give that part some volume. But that's just my preference. Gonna try this method for sure following your tutorial
I think it's a looser curl because the robe belt is thicker. And the wrapping method is more round and round rather than over under so more similar to a curling iron or wand.
I don’t love diffusing, but it makes SUCH a difference in volume and spring that it’s worth it for me. Your robe curls came out great! I see what you mean about the back, but I didn’t notice it until you pointed it out. I’m wondering if that was due to how the hair was distributed. If you do decide to try it again, you could try adjusting your part. I have a different heatless method that I use as a lazy refresh on day 4 or 5. I put it up in a scrunchie on the top of my head, then split the ponytail into two sides and wrap each side around the second twist of the scrunchie, as if I was making a sock bun. I’ve also been meaning to try it with two space buns. It’s not as reliable as the robe curls, and you don’t have as much control over how the top comes out, but it sleeps as well as a pineapple, looks intentional enough to go out in public, and is lightening fast. I stumbled on it by accident - I put it up like that to keep it out of the way while I washed my face, then forgot to take it down until dinner time. There are also tools you can buy for this that have a padded section attached to a scrunchy. Those will give you larger diameter curls, but have the same top issue.
Hey Courtney! Great video! I was wondering if you could try out the curlsmith effortless waves spray. I'm interested in purchasing it and I wanted to see what you thought of it for your fine wavy hair. I have the same hair type only some more tighter waves. More 2c-3a
I Loved your video! I appreciated the fact that you actually explained Why things were happening instead of just telling us how to do it. I'm a "why" kinda of gal. And finally there was someone who was showing us how to wrap up the back hair into the robe. However, like others, i think you said it still came out kind of "wonky." There was another little thing that i didn't like ( not about your hair, but the method in general) as well. like how it leaves the sides with wonderful curls but the back with waves. the whole thing put my big fat brain going into overdrive. I started wondering why are we using just one "robe" ? why not use 2 smaller ones for the front and the back? I'm testing my theory out tonight. I don't ctually own a "robe", never really got into them. .Not to mention most robes are made out of terry cloth or some kind of loop fabric, which is fine for extra absorbancy, but contributes greatly to added frizz bc of the friction between the individual hairs. So i cut up an old T-shirt of my husbands, cut the front off and cut that in 1/2 then folded that in 1/2 for some thickness ( it was a heavy t-shirt). instead of sectioning my hair into 2 i will section it off into 4. 2 sides and 2 in the back. then do as instructed as the video for the front sides. then for the back put the "robe" at the top back of my head and work down. when i reach the end i can simply either tie the 2 ends together or band them together. cross our fingers! it's either going to look fab fab fab, or a hot mess!
I bought the "popular" thicker satin rod, and a small long satin rod. But i hesitated forever before i finally bought them. I really had no clue on how to do this i was just going to go in and hope lol.. so i finally put the small one to use this morning with some flaxseed gel and oh boy, that was a job!... What made me hesitant was the back, being it's being pulled all the way out to the sides and i could see the back had quite a bit of straight in hers and now as i get ready to go take mine out after this comment, I'm confident mine will be the same 🤦🏻♀️😆.. I've got to figure out a way to fix that problem. But her hair definitely was pretty. Thanks for the tips! ❤
Product free it takes my hair 4+ hours to dry. Doesn't stop me from letting it air dry! With product, I dry the roots/underneath and it take 2 hours to dry...
I haven't watched any hair videos in a long time (like you were pregnant last time I did!) You are always so fun to watch! Also, my 16 year old still says crisscross applesauce, and all the littles she babysits know what she's talking about. So it must still be the in phrase. She taught my 7 year old to say "hands on your lap" after she says it 🤣 I think she's destined to be in early childhood education. What a tangent... Thanks for inspiring me to go tie in some robe curls.
I like the back the best. Don’t hate me, but I can get my hair to do mostly that just by putting all the hair still wet in a cloth ponytail holder, then leaving that in till it dries later in the day.
I am SO confused about using the sea salt spray. NaCl WEAKENS hydrogen bonds. It the idea to break down the hydrogen bonds keeping the hair straight, then let them re-form when the hair is wrapped?
So robe curls are made by French braiding a robe belt in your hair and sleeping on it….not sure why this is better than a regular French braid, maybe bigger curl clumps?
My kiddo’s class says “criss cross applesauce, SPOONS in the BOWL!” (So the kids sit criss cross and put their hands in their laps-great for attention for young kids… smart teacher)
New subscriber here! Excited to see someone with fine/wavy/curly and shorter hair! Would you say your hair is low porosity? Takes my hair about an hour to air dry too and it’s not as thick as yours. 😂
Glad to have you here! It was low porosity for a lonngg time however I got a bunch highlights when I cut my hair short. It is more mid/high porosity at the moment. If you go back in my videos, before I cut my hair, you will find all the ones that are low porosity!
This looks soooo good. I’ve only ever seen long hair videos so this was refreshing to see.
Ok but it actually looks super cute when the robe is tied up in your hair too! Like a braid crown!
Wow ! My favorite results
Your not lazy with 2 children and husband AND giving all of us the info you do. Thank you!
I love the heatless curls on you!! Super cute! The curls came out so pretty!
Thank you so much! Fun and easy!
I really enjoyed seeing this on shorter hair. I think I’ve heard a zig zag part a large one can help the back lay a bit better and not have the initial separation. My only challenge is I don’t own a robe 😂
I don't own a robe with a belt!!! lol
I love the robe curls. I had longer hair until a couple months ago when I cut off my unhealthy covid hair. My hair is just a tad bit longer than yours and I'm gonna try this tonight!
Hope it went well!
I can't get over how stunning your hair looks! I've been afraid to try heatless curls since I began my curly girl journey for some reason, but I may definitely have to give this one a go! Thanks for the tip! 😊

Cute! Definitely going to try this now that I’ve seen it done on shorter hair. Thanks!
So cute! I can’t wait to try on my wavy hair
So pretty!!
It’s so interesting how this method produces differently looking curls on people. Maybe you have layers?? Mine end up looking like I did a braid.
Looks very cute. Sponge rollers do the same if not better and they are comfortable to wear to bed and SO SOOO much easier to put in.
You give me hope. My hair isn't as thick as yours...and I'm way older...but my hair looks just like yours at the first of this video!
Im 56 and I use this method on my thinning hair. I have never heard of sea salt spray though, I use just normal mousse. Give it a go.

I air dry my hair. I just don’t have the patience to do any diffusing. It’s exhausting. I do a lot of heatless methods, such as roller sets.
I love how this just looks like an up do! Just add some flower pics and butterfly clips!
14:19 Weird? I think it looked beautiful.❤ I have been wondering if this technique could be done on shorter hair. Thanks for testing it.
Hair looks awesome! How about the link to that storming the castle tshirt? I need to have it lol
Oh, no! It was a birthday present. I have no idea where they got it from.
Your hair looks fantastic! I'm thinking I might have to try the sea salt spray. But I'm confused, how is this different from regular french braiding?
I think it's a looser curl because the robe belt is thicker. And the wrapping method is more round and round rather than over under so more similar to a curling iron or wand.

I have never heard of sea salt hair spray!! That sounds amazing!! I havent used product on my hair in years...i am going to look into this!!
Love your Princess Bride shirt.
Your hair looks amazing 🤩 such a great style on you!! ❤
Looks nice! One of these days I will have to try this, but first I need to buy a robe 😆
Well doesn’t that look adorable?! I’m totally going to try this tonight for church in the morning! ❤️
Thank you! This would be a great hair day for church!
Lol I do this all the time (or dutch braid waves) when I don't feel like using gel or mousse
Your hair looks so cute 🥰 I don't have the coordination for that styling, but it looks cool!
Thank you for your careful explanation of the steps!

I hate diffusing. Part of the reason I haven’t gotten a more expensive diffuser is because I hate diffusing. Air dry for life!
That was incredibly different. Looks really cute on you
Definitely going to try. Hope it will prevent the 'I don't have time to deal with it since I will clip it up' maddash hair I wear moat days.
🤣🤣Totally get this!

Its so pretty. Definitely going to try it.
Thank you! Have fun with it!
So cute! I hope it works on mine.
Love your shirt! One of my fav movies! Oh, and your hair turned out cute too! Lol
Love the shirt! Princess bride.
Is it just me or does tht look really.difficult to do? I dnt think I cld do it
Oh I’m trying this! Your hair is cute!!!
It looks great, even in the back. It's beautiful and shiny. The back isn't weird! 😁
LOVE IT!!!! Can you please review curl smith effortless waves.
My goodness!!!! Looks flawless on you. I love it❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
That came out so cute!

I hate difusing, however there are not enough Sundays in the month for my hair to air dry.

Very pretty, looks like a style you can wear to a special event.
I like the back the best. Don’t hate me, but I can get my hair to do mostly that just by putting all the hair still wet in a cloth ponytail holder, then leaving that in till it dries later in the day.

That is the idea!
Looks great and totally worked . I'm inspired .
Thank you so much!
My hands are so uncoordinated with my hair that I've tried this so many times & just can't do it 😔
I have slept with Bobby pins in my hair and it was comfortable
Your hair looks wonderful
I hardly ever use a blow dryer
In general I don't like to do anything with my hair. I have other things I want to do. Though every once and a while I do want pretty hair.
So robe curls are made by French braiding a robe belt in your hair and sleeping on it….not sure why this is better than a regular French braid, maybe bigger curl clumps?
I can’t French braid my own hair, or anyone’s, but I could manage doing robe curls I think
Thanks! Looks great!
Thank you so much!
Hey I’m still trying to figure out robe curls too so we can late party together lol.
Oook girlfriend!.....for those of us (including you ,admit it), how do we roll the back of the head of hair? And, have you tried Flexirods ?
Wow! Looks beautiful!
My curly wavy hair losing their shaoe while im diffusing them even with styling products or brush style...So i realy love to air dry them 😅
On wet hair this works great for me.
Beautiful results!!!!!
It's gorgeous!
What brush were you using in this video?(:
It's like French braiding but, with a robe.
Basically!
Love your shirt! I loved that movie ❤
I hate the styling and the diffusing…..but I HATE the way my hair looks if I don’t!
This may be a good halfway point then. I do like to keep things simple though too!
So cute,Courtney!
It looks great! 💜
I'm, thanks ! ❤
Your robe curls are BEAUTIFUL!! they look sooo soft!! You are a DOLL!! LORD BLESS YOU!! Your friend from the ❤ of MO
I don't like airdrying. It makes my hair frizzy and even without products it takes forever.
It’s beautiful 😍
Awesome Style On You ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awe, thank you!
Gorgeous!
Criss cross applesauce predates your generation.
Love it!
Thank you! 🤗🥰
Perfection
You are adorable. You remind me of my daughter. 😊
Awe, thank you!
My kiddo’s class says “criss cross applesauce, SPOONS in the BOWL!” (So the kids sit criss cross and put their hands in their laps-great for attention for young kids… smart teacher)
I don't like diffusing my hair
Bellissimiii!!!
the back is very cute
Thank you!
I thought it turned out nice.
Thank you!
Then .....try using mousse instead of gel.
Hello, my name in Inigo Montoya...
New subscriber here! Excited to see someone with fine/wavy/curly and shorter hair! Would you say your hair is low porosity? Takes my hair about an hour to air dry too and it’s not as thick as yours. 😂

Wwaaohhhh 😊
You're hair looks so much better than when you put a go-zillion products in your hair with gel, & then diffuse or air dry.
I'm the firts one?
Your hair is not "short."
then what is it long?
