This video was helpful. I have an 02 Cummins and after noting the ease of this swap, changed the balancer, and the belt in very little time. I knew the old one was bad because of a visible wobble that led to the belt chirping. The new dampener corrected the issues, but didn’t change or improve the engine performance
I just installed the fluidampr on my 08 cummins and the way I held the damper from spinning while removal and install was by using a ratchet strap wrapped once in the belt grooves and out the hooks on both of the welded sway bar brackets and it held great
What matters is if there's notches in it those have to go back on the same way. It came off really easy. It's only gonna be one of four ways around the clock.
The stock one will do the job just fine... The fluidamper shines when it comes to RPM (over 3000) and high horsepower torque numbers (500+ HP). Now this being said, I personally went with the fluidamper. My reasoning behind it was it's +/- double the price, can you put a pricetag on peace of mind? Also leaves doors open for upping the power #'s down the road.... If I wasn't sure if have the truck long, I might have considered another stock one. But the fact is I'm going to have her forever ❤️
Have you had to replace your serpentine belt since? Your video has been helpful as this was put on my truck by previous owner. I need to put a new belt on and this piece is making it very difficult to do so
vovchick---- for some reason, i was not able to respond directly to you. i don't think there was more than $ 100.00 difference , between the stock, and the fluid . in my thoughts are that unless it it leaks it should not go bad??? .the stock is know to go bad.so yeah i think it would be worth it
Did you notice any problems other than the balancer wobbling? I just ordered this damper for my truck and was wondering if it made a noticeable difference driving?

Are the bolts threaded right hand or left hand? Do you know

Did you feel more vibration than normal while truck was idling before replacing the dampner ?

very helpful! does it run smoother?
why did you choose to replace it?
Do you feel like its worth the money or is the stock one will do the job just fine?
Vovchik P. I've seen stock ones hold alot of power I had a 700hp 24 valve with OEM balancer

I don't remember having problems, are you sure the belt is correct? Many time I've had the part store monkeys screw me.
