We’ll be in Rome next Tuesday and Wednesday… we’re hoping the crowds in February won’t be as bad as the summer.
@@tehooper I’m in Rome right now. It’s actually not that bad (comparing currently to cities like NYC), however mainstream or “famous,” restaurants is what you should avoid since the lines are ridiculous and can be overwhelming for employees. As always, if you don’t wana for some attractions or monuments then that’s fine, just acknowledged you will have to do a decent time of waiting
Went off the beaten path in DC once. Nice people sitting on their porch suggested we turn around and go back to city center😂
Going to Rome in March as part of a tour group. Glad I don't have to navigate the whole time on my own.
Oh, great! Have fun!
I’ve got to recommend a hotel I stayed in when in Rome. It’s called Hotel Domidae. It’s well away from all the tourist attractions and sites. But if you stay here, you’ll get a decent value for your money. If you’re ok with taking the train, you’ll get down to the sites. But it’s a very nice place to crash and it’s quiet too!
We’re going to Rome! But, only for a few days and then touring around Southern Italy. I’m excited. We’re going as part of a group. O don’t know when this event that you’re referring to takes place but will look into it. 😊
I’m going for the first week of April. Here’s hoping to won’t be too busy.
I think it depends upon the areas you're at and the time of the day
@ since I have 6am flight out from the UK (arrival at 10am) and can’t check in to my hotel until 2pm I’m booked for a late afternoon tour of the Colosseum first. I’m also spending one day taking a trip out of Rome to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius.
I hear what you're saying re: "chain" hotels...however, since we have enough points to stay for free, that means more shopping and excellent food for me LOL
Hahaha you don't go off the beaten path in Chicago.
Yeah depends where but good advice
Same in Denver 😂
I’m moving to Bologna next year. I’ve been to Roma many times, and it’s always kind crazy there 😂
Yeah, it can be that way, but there are many good spots where you can beat the crowds. Congrats on the move. I have a video coming up on moving abroad.
Even the pigeons! lol!
