My last visit to Rome touring Castel Sant’Angelo we came to an open gate and walked the whole passetto and I realized we were the only ones on the path and the Vatican was getting closer. But thought not much of it as the Castel had just opened. Suddenly a man wearing a Suit came running asking us to please turn around. He said it was their fault for leaving the gate open. I looked up that night where we had been and was pleasantly thrilled.

I've watched countless videos on Rome, yours is chock full of unique information. We'll be sure to incorporate some of the pointers you provide during our next trip to Rome. Thanks.
Well done, very well, you have perfectly illustrated unique corners of the city and you have provided interesting information and stories related to the various monuments, as an Italian and a Roman I absolutely recommend following your advice. Thank you for illustrating part of our history so well
Wow! One of the most spot on, informative and interesting videos about Rome. My hometown. Also, always get a guide when you visit historical sites and galleries. They can tune the information to your level of knowledge or interest, and are generally fun and entertaining. The best video i’ve seen- rare to find videos with info and also of unique places..Thank u so much!……i wonder what are activities to do in Rome other than museums and restaurants to be able to balance out my trip?
I’m so glad I discovered your channel! I like how you include historical information like the “mille milestone” story and also, how to correctly pronounce local phrases. Grazie!
What a great video! Very well thought out and lots of info that makes for an unforgettable trip. I’ve only been to Rome once, and my wife was smart enough to plan visits to some of these places. The 3 level church, and the Borghese gallery were unbelievable. I treasure all the pictures I have of the Bernini sculptures. I just subscribed and I’m using all these videos to help plan our next trip there. Ciao! And please keep up the great work! On a side note, do you do tours? You’d make an excellent guide.
Hi, I am a Roman citizen, congratulations on your very useful and interesting guide. Allow me to suggest another unusual area to visit to add to your list, I'm talking about the E.U.R. located in the south-west area of Rome and easily reachable by underground (line B, EUR Fermi stop). I add the address of a site in Italian (but easily translatable) that describes the area.
I've been to Rome a few times and explored a lot on my own. You have offered some interesting places I didn't know about. I also enjoyed your histories.
Hi Michelle, very informative video. Im just wondering how accessable are these sites for someone using a walking frame? Im 70, always wanted to visit Rome and am going in August 2024. Im so looking forward to it. I am trawling my way through all your videos and have subscribed 😊😊
I just found your video and really enjoyed it. One suggestion. Leave on screen text up longer. I was notes and had to go back in the video every time (not an easy thing to do on UA-cam) and play that part again to be able to get to the pause button in time. Thanks.
Thanks to this video I bumped some things from my list so I could include some from this list (our visit to Rome is quick). The Centro storico Coppedè looks so wonderful that I'm going to have to walk all the way over there just to check it out! And the basilica right next to the Colosseum never even hit my radar till I watched your video. Grazie and I hope pandemic rules still allow us to come and visit in six weeks.
Coppedè is unique and charming, if you manage to go I would suggest to visit Villa Torlonia as well, which is few minutes walking from there. The museum and Casina delle Civette are a non-turistic must see🥰
I have seen most of your suggested places researching well, before l visited Roma many times. It is a fascinating ancient City, l can not get enough off ever. Every time l am there, l discover new treasures. How ever, l wonder why there is so little about the recent history, architecture in EUR - Esposizione Universale Roma with the Palazzo della Civilta Italiana (1938-43)...the Benito Mussolini era. The fascist architecture of EUR was used by famous Italian film directors like M. Antonioni 1962 movie L’Eclisse, Bertolucci’s 1970 movie THE CONFORMIST, Fellini’s 8 1/2, And Boccaccio’70... Also , outside Roma the marvellous Tivoli Villa d’Este, Villa Adriana. I visited these places every time l got a bit tired of the hustle bastle of Roma. It was a great pleasure to see all these cultural, and ancient places again through your eyes, and information. Thank you. ❤🇮🇹 Greetings from Melbourne, AUS

I love every one of these suggestions, especially er passetto - definitely on my "to do" list.
(Although, I fear given the Australian government's decisions, I may never get back home.)
Thank you for bringing this piece of Rome.
Which is your favourite country / city?
That’s so sweet and kind of you to say so. I really appreciate your kind words 😀🤩🥰 I’m so glad you enjoyed it 😀 I used to live in Rome so my heart will always be drawn there so I’d have to say it’s my favourite, both for its tangible history and my Italian and international friends I made there. I hope you can visit soon. I’m eager to get back to Melbourne to see my family
Michelle, green looks good on you.
Thank you 😊
Thanks
Grazie mille James 🙏
