Man, I can really relate to you, I am 33 years old, going 34, I may not be as old as you, but man, gaming became so tiring lately, I don't know the reason why I bought the Steam Deck, I just really wanted to experience it and maybe sell it if I didn't like it, but I fell in love with Steam Deck really fast and fell in love with gaming all over again. I found games that I bought many years ago and never played it and discovered that they have a very well written stories and awesome gameplays and I only played all of those games because of Steam Deck. It's true, this device really is a backlog killer!
@@kiro9268 Exactly bro! Same here I purchased it before thinking that I'm just gonna sell it when I got tired of it but guess what. Among all my gadgets, my Steam Deck is the one I will not even think of selling now 😊
well, sometimes when i want maximum graphics and im at home i just stream (remote play) from my gaming pc to my steamdeck on my bed. It works perfectly, and i stoped playing on my pc at all. I use steamdeck or ally x (nice machine too) and sometimes remote play from pc.
After selling my switch oled last year I've missed an on the go gaming handheld.. Just ordered the oled deck in white tonight and can't wait to give it a go!
Oh also (you probably know this already), but a fun thing you can do if you wanna play more demanding games on your Steam Deck is to stream them from your PC to the Deck using Steam Link. Works so much better than any other game streaming platform I think
Nice video and I agree with you. I'm excited toget my steam deck soon being finally able to afford it. Also your background music is a bit loud. Make sure it's atleast 10 dB lower than your voiceover. Voiceover at -10 dB and music at -20 dB is usually the standard. That means the music sounds half as loud as your voice. You may need it lower if music is harssh or has a lot going on.
Good video man 👍🏻 I loved my steam deck LCD and even more my OLED. They also are the reason I got back into gaming 🤜🏻🤛🏻 I currently only have an Ally X which I also love
Totally relate with Glenn, I'm 45 and I barely play games on tv anymore, I watch way too much gaming on youtube then play, Outside of youtube watching gaming I play casually my oled switch sometimes, Saving up to get an oled steam deck for pc indie games especially indie fighting games and jrpgs. As I age I noticed I get bored gaming especially sitting infront of a tv. So handy handheld gaming casually for me. So neat simply reaching over playing 30 to 1 hour than simply turning off. Something about sitting infront of a tv turns my attention span off after 30 minutes. I wonder if any of ya'll feel da same or similar to me despite loving gaming.
For me, the Steam Deck brought back some of the joy of gaming because it made me stop thinking about getting the "best" experience possible with ultra graphics and high framerate. It's powerful enough for me to have fun, and that's all I need. Plus, it's encouraged me to try new games and genres that I wouldn't have before. And ironically, even though it's sad that Linux doesn't work with many games that I love, particularly FPS games, this limitation has forced me to try new games as well instead of just defaulting to CoD or Battlefield all the time. However, I am glad that I got the OLED model, because HDR makes games look so much better in my opinion.
Probably going to order a White LE Steamdeck tonight when they open orders and sell my PS5 in the next few weeks. Bought it in February and played FF 7 and Stellar Blade and now it's getting dusty because I play on PC most of the time. Lesson learned ahah, I'll keep my Switch for the Nintendo exclusives though!

Similar vibe to me I find playing on ps5 not as fun as it used to be, I don't like to feel so committed to a gaming session I would rather pick up and play in shorter sessions, or play with the TV on I don't want to shut myself away for a two hour session on console anymore, thinking about getting the SD oled or Ally X.
Steam Deck OLED and Ally X are both fantastic. You can't go wrong with either . There is also the OneXFly F1 Pro which looks fantastic coming out end of the month which is portable , powerful and has OLED too but is quite expensive . Those three look your best bets . Any questions ask away . I own Ally X and Steam Deck OLED at the moment .
@adolfbilic8622 Thanks, I had the OG Ally it was great but the battery was poor and I spent more time charging then playing, love the long battery on the X, saw the OneFly but might be hard to justify that price as it's quite hard for the Ally X, but will take in some stuff and am hoping for a black Friday offer.
i know this is out of topic but if you are currently playing or planning to play any persona game on steam deck, make sure you set the resolution to 1280x720 (NOT 800p) and the display mode on windowed, it fixes a bunch of stutters and in 5 it makes the UI look a whole lot better edit: just saw that you finished p3r lol, you arent alone that game also made me cry. I want the steam deck so bad , but owning Ally X and Lenevo Go. But everything i want is a Steam deck the only reason is im waiting for next gen. The lack of power in the steam deck turned me off but the experience is what im looking for. In steam deck 2 i want oled 8 inch 1080p , hdr, VRR , 24-32 gig ram .
You’ll be waiting for awhile. Valve has clearly expressed that they don’t want to update hardware unless there is a significant jump in technology. The only reason they updated the lcd to oled is because that’s what they originally wanted but had to settle for the lcd because of supply at the time. Valve is spending money and resources on updating the current steam deck. Linux and the community are getting support from valve. I get people got used to handhelds dropping every other week but Valve knows that successful consoles go on a 5-7 year cycle. You can literally stream the biggest game from a gaming pc if you have one and even a ps5 from anywhere in the world as long as you have wifi. The limitations the current steam deck has will be solved before the next gen comes out.
For me gaming as a dad just isint as easy as sitting in front of the TV and a console. Excellent video Brother. I am about to purchase the steam deck but I am still undecided if I should grab the oled 512 or the 1T. My indecisiveness is about the glossy screen vs anti-glared Etched screen. Any thoughts on this that can help me decide. Much appreciated.
@@EAOSO either model should actually be fine because you can quickly buy a tempered glass screen protector, depending or your need. For example, on my first steam deck, the 64gb LCD variant, since it has a glossy screen, I purchased a matte tempered glass for it But when I bought the OLED 1gb version, it already has a matte screen but I purchased a glpssy tempered glass because I actually preferred glossy super clear oled display since I always play at night/dark areas anyway compared to frosted/matte screen which is a little bit inferior in color accuracy and clearness because pf the anti glossy nature of it
I'd also say, I made the decision because I was getting a smaller case for the steam deck with the 1tb version which makes it v easy to carry. The storage, the etched screen and the case justify my $100. I love my screen because I can play outside and not have the reflections.
Ally c would have been great but the small screen and 16:9 aspect ratio is terrible! I cannot read Octopath Travelers in game texts. The Legion Go would have been an excellent option but the bugs are just too much! My only option is the deck oled
The steam deck made me value the gaming experience over the frame rate. After spending 12+ hours a day sitting in front of a computer for work, the last thing I really want to do is spend another 4 hours sitting just to play a game. Being able to play games on the sofa or on a bench outside is a gaming experience that not even 120 fps at 8k ultra cannot give you.
